That looks great Dyson, much better than the original. You may want to save your new interface for the final release once those bugs are worked out and tweaks are worked in.
-
Yeah, I don't have the original dimensions of that center piece, nor the background element so your statement is correct. I just captured the screen and then did a square cut out of that screenshot.
-
Dyson, Here's the new interface design I was talking about. I wasnt sure how to send it to you in a PM. But if you would like to use it, you're more than welcome to it.

Found the problem... I did not include the 'Map' folder. This folder needs to placed inside the LA Mod 2.0 folder. The mod is definitely a good start but not as "ready" as I would like. Lots of tweaks needed and the bugs as mentioned in earlier posts. But it does leave quite a bit to do - great map.

In terms of installing this, do I just install the LA Mod 2.0 in the place where my original 'LA Mod 2.0 folder is? Where does the 'Map' folder go? Sorry, if I missed where this has already been addressed. I just simply replaced/backed up the original 'LA Mod 2.0' folder and replaced it with the new one from Dyson. Launched application and it crashed to the desktop. It occured right after the it reached 100% on loading just before opening up to game. Darn! So not sure where to go from here... Any help with my logfile that is attached.... logfile.txt

I believe it would be ideal to make the body bag yellow rather than white. This way, it will stand out in the snow. Seems to be used often enough so should be fine in the New York Submod. I'll do an install and see how things run if I have time today.

Searching coming up with zilch: Has anyone done an AMR ambulance?

Yikes, waaaay to much work for one unit. -
Barricade tape instead of the metal barricades?
heyjoojoo replied to heyjoojoo's topic in Los Angeles Mod
In the NY Submod and not the NY Mod? -
Is this possible to design barricade tape for the game rather than LAPD using the metal barricades? I seem to remember a discussion like this happening before but couldn't find it in the search...
-
Is there a newer version of the motorcycle for LAPD that can be added to the game?

Gosh, I must have gone a few months without any rain. Wow. The randominess of the config file... -

Eeesh. I thought I might have missed something. I copied all of the dds files over to the prototype files folder. But I apparently missed something else because no AMR ambulances appeared. I noticed that there are folders called 'Models', 'Prototypes' and 'Units'. I have replaced the dds files in the Prototypes folder but not sure what to do next... -
No, I actually can take criticism but the manner in which you did it sounded more like a dogging rather than an objective criticism.

Ive been using the acclaimed Mod 2.0 ever since it came out and have also always updated with any of Hoppah's patches. It all that time I have never ever seen rain during the freeplay. But it has started and I'm not sure if adding the additional units has corrupted the freeplay config so that now I'm getting rain or is rain normal?

I've searched several times for AMR and AMR Ambulance and it doesnt seem to come up with anything. I'm looking for a reskin or a redesign of one or both of the ambulances to the AMR ambulance. Is there a reskin that I can install JUST for the ambulances - I don't want to add or replace the other vehicles if I don't have to.

You fail to understand the way the intended affect was to happen. When you play the game, the player is not supposed to sound like he/she is inside the unit, hence the bird's eye view perspective during the gameplay. Therefore, I used sirens that sound like they're traveling through a downtown ambiance rather than like you're sitting inside the vehicle (since that's not what's happening during the game.).
-
Summary: For those of you who enjoy playing this game and using all the mods created by many other cool people on this forum. People have asked for me to recreate the sirens adding realistic sounds to accompany the wails, yelps, and so forth. The LAFD sirens include horn blasts and reving engine sounds to make the sounds more believable therefore a more emersed experience. How to install it The files need to be copied into the Mod/Los Angeles Mod v2.0/Audio/Fx/sirens folder. It will overwrite the other files. Or you can simply just remove the original files, back them up and add the new ones. That's it. Note: The files are compressed using the standard Windows Compression program. You just need to unzip them. DOWNLOAD AREA Sirens Edited January 7, 2011

Thanks. I can't promise anything yet. I'm student teaching now; so hopefully when my phases are complete, I play with this project a little more.
