[WIP] Possible South central Texas mod?
Terrow replied to Jadon496's topic in Mod Development and Concepts
I think we'll need an Ebola event -
If you modify anything to do with the vehicles (i.e. change the units.xml file or editing them in the editor), the multiplayer map or anything to do with the multiplayer map (paths, etc) then you will not be able to host as people wanting to join your group will get: "Error: Different files to host." And I also believe if you try to join a game with modified files you will get the same error. To sort this out just reinstall the mod or the game. -from the sticky above You can always try and back up your files in case though

I don't think it's a noticeable amount once the unit is in game. In my opinion it wouldn't be worth it if it causes the game to lag
-
Thanks. Haven't had any problems with it

You just have to type the name of the file without an extension. It adds the .eft extension after it's done converting. If you don't type a name, it'll look like this

I made a whole tutorial but accidentally deleted it... I'll give a small one then see if you can figure it out. I'll try doing Gimp tomorrow since I don't have it right now 1. Edit in your program. Do not make the background transparent, only the text. To make it transparent edit the fill and opacity of the text (Or either or technically) to 60% or less. Make sure the text is under a new layer 60% isn't that transparent be warned. _______________________________________________________________ Specifications from manual it must meet: _________________________________________________________________________________ 2. Save as a Targa file with lower extension (.tga) and 24 bits/pixel 3. Make a folder in your maps folder called something like "test" 4. Leave your Targa file elsewhere from your EM4 files, like your desktop 5. Go to EM4 Editor, load your modification 6. Push F2 or go to Terrain 7. Hover over Floor, then go to import texture 8. Find your texture that you have on your desktop 9. Save the floor texture inside the test folder, name it freeplay or or mission etc. 10. Wait for conversion Done

I'll create a tutorial for this later in the day if you want and post on Youtube. I think a few people have been having problems with this.

[Unsolved] Broke personnel smaller photos
Terrow replied to Terrow's topic in Modding Related Support
Yeah, if I never figure it out it won't be a huge deal because at least they still spawn. Hopefully someone knows. -
The Unit IDs Smaller photos for personnel is somehow messed up. Even though all of the pictures are in the folders correctly (I just copied BAMAs files to mine for personnel). Units show up fine inside the game but it's not showing in menus. So it adds units to the car but you just cant see them until they get out of the car in game.

Thank you! Very well explained

Can't use anything from that mod. I guess they don't allow NY related mods to use things or it has to be classified as a submod. I'll probably find something similar and retexture it Yeah, guess its time to learn zmodeler better I'll check out that mod

I don't know what to call this, not sure if it's a chief vehicle or only EMS vehicle. Maybe someone can shed some light on it. Does anyone have a lightbar similar to this? model by itchboy

Are the other scripts set as childs (Shears, fire extinguisher etc.)? I would check those out and see how the positions are scripted with them. I haven't looked at them too much yet. Or check out the script for the fire and how that is positioned. From what I see it looks like it acts as the hose script but changes the distance and texture?

Plenty of free tutorials online to teach yourself. My going rate right now is about 100,000 USD per hour if you're interested,

As long as it fits in the space it shouldn't.

one vehicle enters and then leaves station

Is the space large enough for it to park? -
Yup, finished it today, apart of the NYSP. I'll be putting up a video when I have some time plus a few more units that I have.
