Information Bar At Top of Screen is Gone

It's doing it all the time now, vanilla and mods -
Hi guys, The little event bar at the top of the screen in game is now missing from my game. On top of that, when I get to the main menu, everything is greyed out except campaign and options. However it is all still clickable and I can still activate my mods and access freeplay. Anyone know how to fix?

When I play, the drop down box at the top doesn't show up with any patient information. Anyone know how to fix this?
