Project Nostalgia Submod [RELEASED - Bugfixes Uploaded Regularly]
itchboy replied to itchboy's topic in Submods [Approved]
I probably won't include these, because they currently serve no purpose. I will, however, add them later on if a mission or map can be added in that would justify it's use, and the creation of person models for the NG members. Feel free to share more of what you can find, it's nice seeing their old spec regardless. I also have a bit of an announcement. It's somewhat unrelated to PN but I have nowhere else to put it. I am currently making a 65-66 Stang. This isn't just for civilian cars, but also as an intended replacement for the vanilla Getaway Car in the game. The model isnt quite done but I'll be sure to post an update when it is completed. It will be worked on as a separate project and download link to PN. Separately, I completeld this model some months back. This car is too new for Project Nostalgia unfortunately. However, it is perfect as a replacement for the CHP Camaro model. Hoppah's model walked, so that mine could run. A proper replacement for the CHP Camaro is in the works, however it will be a separate project unrelated to PN. To be clear, this is a lower priority asset and will be done as a bonus at an indeterminate timeframe. -

I believe this was confirmed to be un-legit. However, a Newport would be a nice civilian asset. This site has a rule that advises use of English. Please use a translator, or ask someone you know to translate for you. Oh hey man. Welcome back. I might try something similar to 51, but not exactly the same rig. I don't want to do the TV rigs unless it's for a specific vehicle pack. Thank you for sharing. I thought the screen used vehicles were just mock-ups made to accuracy, not real rigs. -

Thanks for clarifying. I re-read it and completely misunderstood the context. -

Miles, you are the man. Thank you so much for your contributions to helping this project out. You are definitely getting a special mention in the next version's update. As to not overwhelm myself, I'll start with the Crown tiller and move to the Thibault at a later date. I'd like to take this one at a time now that I have a fairly large backlog of assets to make. I still haven't finished the civilian cars and helicopters that I promised, too. I am hustling along at my own pace but things are being worked on. I am in that Facebook group, actually. Thank you for sharing, it is indeed a great resource, though sometimes, imperfect. I absolutely will be adding in the fire apparatus with the fireberglass tops. They won't be modelled by me, but by someone in the community who I've been teaching to make assets. I am not sure on those other suggestions, even if I think they are interesting. I'll have to do some extensive research on each truck and cab (in it's civilian form) before I can turn them into appartus. The plan is to produce a civilian truck for NPC purposes, a base asset for anyone to use in their mods, and then the LAFD apparatus lastly. I do appreciate you listing these down for me, that way I can save this information and come back to it when I am ready. Speaking of civilian assets, I think I have finally found the motivation to continue making them. We are on our way to achieving the original goal I set out. I've had these assets sitting unfinished for a long time. I finally got around to finishing them, and like the other civilian assets, and unfinished playable ones, I will be texturing these by hopefully Dec-early next year to release v1 of the civ vehicle set. -

Thank you for sharing these. I think you've tipped me over the edge on doing these hearse style vehicles. Can you please send me to where you found the Adams stuff? Now that you've provided these pictures, I think I'm a go for including Adams into the EMS fleet as well. Thibault was also used by Miami Dade FD. Perhaps I can put these together someday as a two birds, one stone plan. It is definitely a unique cab. Just not sure on the tiller body and different ladder parts. Can't really make those without really good pictures. Thank you for the information on the cabs. I'll have a go at retro semi trucks much later in the future, so thanks for suggesting some more. Here's a bit of news. This picture was just posted on ebay. Guess what it means? The only thing I'm missing is a rear picture. If anyone can find it, please do. I really want to add this rig, and some border patrol, as a "bonus content pack" for the mod, to be included as a separate download. And yet another thing I want to post here for historical preservation, is an extremely unusual LACoFD KME engine. -

I have changed course on that. Instead of making a 2000's LA mod, I will be helping someone else with a whole new mod, that's set in 2003, for an area in the midwest USA. I will be looking into these, thank you. I might try more CARE rigs, but I can't do the other ambulance companies without complete pictures of all sides of the vehicle. Unfortunately I won't be making those until a high resolution, complete set of pictures are provided for all sides of the vehicle. I'd also need to find pictures of the cabs as civilian form before I can make the fire apparatus variant. Send as many pictures as you can, regardless. I am sure people coming across this thread on google would find the history to be very useful. Another reason I don't want to do the telesquirts is due to a lack of information on how to animate and configure these models. I'd need to model every hose, every hydraulic arm, and also the fact that making these ingame is a pain in the ass. I'd also like to announce that I am back to making civilian vehicles. Hopefully I will achieve my target goals and have enough vehicles to go around. -

Well damn, you got me dead to rights. That's literally what I need. For a lack of pictures, those are the only ones I'll be making. I will have to finish the brush truck first, though. -

I'll fix this ASAP. I'd rather focus on adding defunct agencies because they deserve more representation. AMR is known in the EMS community as a "machine" that buys out many small time ambulance companies. I'll see what I can do with these. I'm either going to make the yellow colored Kenworth tanker, the Ford tanker, or one of the vintage tankers. It all comes down to how many pictures I can find. If there are no conclusive pictures then I will have to wait on them for a bit. I'll look into fixing those mission bugs. Some of them are Em4 being problematic, but the airport collision mission seems to be my screw up. I'll fix that ASAP. Glad you fixed your issue. Thank you as well for posting the solution. It's hideous. I probably won't do it because we don't have any SCBA script in this submod. The 1978 LAFD Brush Truck is in WIP. I need to finish the vehicle model first before I can make the pumps. -
Asking release dates is against site rules. Please be careful next time.

Unfortunately it's the same problem with *insert country here*. There's no vehicle models, map assets, textures, and personnel to create any project.

This is not an announcement or any plan, or update for the mod. I am posting these here for archival purposes only. Lima MT 1962 Ford F American La France pumper Dillon MT 1962 American La France pumper If anyone does feel interested in including these vehicles in the mod, please let me know if any department would have a 1962 rig in 2014-today.

Emergency 4 game runs horrible
itchboy replied to TheExceptionalG's topic in Technical Related Support
I am on a 1050Ti as well and don't have this issue. However, I believe you can try fooling around with the NVIDIA control panel to see if Em4 is actually using the GPU and not the integrated CPU graphics and getting confused as a result. You could also try fooling around with the em4.cfg file in your base game folder. Open up the .cfg file with notepad and check this value: <var name="e4_mbfastcopy" value="1" /> Turn that sucker to 0.- 1 reply

The mod is still alive, I would prefer people didn't ask so often because if anything came up, I'd tell you guys.
-
Please don't ask for release dates. It's against site rules. The mod authors will say whenever they're comfortable with announcing that information.
-
Go into your em4.cfg <var name="e4_doocclusion" value="1" /> Change that 1 to 0

The original LA mod has one for the LAPD Charger and CHP Charger. I believe credits on that model is MikeyPI but please check the readme and credits files of the mod to be sure.

This isn't an announcement. I am just posting pictures of vehicles I've found in archive footage. I would like to repost it here for ease of access. -
Now that Project Nostalgia is somewhat stable, I can walk away from it and focus on Montana. Here are 2 callouts I've improved and sorted out a bit. For my long term goals, there are a lot of expansions I want to add to the mod, like over a dozen new vehicles and tons more scripts, functions and callouts. All these expansions cannot be worked on now and I hope all of you can settle for the bare minimum. I really don't have much else to show for besides these incremental changes. I am hoping to get the mod released this year, barring any major life incidents. Who knows what the future holds.

It seems to be broken, you're right. I don't know why though. I'll have to add this to the bug list. -

That's a new thing for me. It worked fine for me when I tested the other day. I think this is a limitation of the rapid deploy system, not something specific to my projects. I've had this happen before in a bunch of mods when I click rapid deploy and water cannon at the same time really quickly. The reason it does this is the Em4 hose logic gets confused sometimes. The solution is to undeploy the fire engine that triggered the glitch. -

Thank you, and bless that organization. They helped me find a good amount of what I needed for this project. I hope they can someday see my project and what I've been able to make. Sadly they haven't responded by email or social media. -

Speaking of, what's the title and author of the book? If it can be bought I might look into seeing if it's possible, -

In the first place, I removed that one because it was confirmed not-legit. However I know there are fans of it; I have a Vector Caprice unit in store for the future for another agency, one that I previously said I wouldn't make. I'll be reusing that asset for this one. You could PM me if it's too massive, but I would like all the LAFD content it has. I am also interested in retro apparatus of other cities, specifically SF, Vegas, Miami, and Chicago.
