Project Nostalgia Submod [RELEASED - Bugfixes Uploaded Regularly]
itchboy replied to itchboy's topic in Submods [Approved]
The real truck does not have a cannon. Disregard the manual of the original LA mod. You might have disabled the wrong freeplay file. I don't see the point of a tanker because there's already the ability to chain fire engines together. -
Another set of development assets coming soon.
-
Yep that's definitely within the range of people who have the memory leak CTD. Even low end PC's like the one I used to have, would also have the problem. There's 3 ways we modders can fix this issue. We will try working something out for you guys.

Six units skinned tonight.

Severe FPS drops making the game unplayable
itchboy replied to tomatoszs's topic in Technical Related Support
I'll leave it unlocked because somebody might come in with a solution. This is how the AMD bug was resolved. I hope this NVIDIA specific issue is sorted because it would screw over tons of people including me. -

How exactly? Is the command for extinguish and cool not there? Or does he just not do anything at all? My most likely guess is that you forgot to turn on the water pump of the fire engine. -
Severe FPS drops making the game unplayable
itchboy replied to tomatoszs's topic in Technical Related Support
That is truly bizzare. You might have one of the worst cases of bad RNG/luck to have this lag. Usually we hear these stories from AMD RX, Radeon, R9 etc users. For the most part, AMD users have this problem and the fastCopy trick works for them. Tweaking the ingame graphics settings hasn't changed anything either right? I was thinking this is likely a graphics driver issue, but I'm a 1050 user (so just below you) and on lastest drivers and I have zero problems whatsoever. A rollback might work but it might not be worth it losing out on your other games just to play this buggy POS game from 2006. If my suspicions are true, then this game's lifespan is going to become even shorter than it already is. It's coming sooner and sooner that the game is entirely unplayable due to drivers or new hardware. The blame for this falls squarely on 16T Games and their publisher for not making any serious attempt at creating compatiblity for this game. They had their opportunity with the steam release of Em4 Deluxe but nope, all they did was hire some dude on Fiverr to re-dub the supervisor and that's it; not a single bit of assistance or respect for the generous userbase that has kept this game alive for far longer than it should. I hope they enjoy losing their cash cow when (predictably) people will choose to stay with this game even after the release of that "new" Emergency game. -

That's a pretty substantial setup so I see no reason for your problems. There are so many different reasons why Em4 could do that, but for the time being, try setting this value in the em4.cfg to 0 <var name="e4_mbfastcopy" value="0" /> mbfastcopy should be 0. Some people reported this helped, but for others it did not. Also check if your antivirus isnt running a scan due to Em4. I know that you have a relatively beefy PC but it could still be causing drag, but that's far less likely. -

Download all four parts because they are "connected" to one another. Then extract using part 1 only to avoid confusion. -
Release the rescue dog and wait for it to find somebody. If you still can't find the person, call the dog back to the handler, and relocate them somewhere. Keep trying until you find them.

That's odd. Did you try running Em4 in administrator mode? That is usually the fix for logfiles not showing up

How To Enable Additional Campaign Missions
itchboy replied to CFDDIVE11's topic in Mission Related Support
It involves copy pasting the map files to the desired mod, and then making a lot of alterations to campaign.xml, all of the text and mission related files in Lang, and all the xml files for every playable unit. -
When I first played the game without mods in 2008, campaign was all that I did. I only got into FP because of the LA mod, and then replayed the campaign again once patch 1.9 came out and campaign was fixed for the LA mod. It is a blast for sure, and believe it or not, the campaign is what convinced me to self-study programming. The Em4 campaign is the sole reason I know how to code.

I'll try adding a few "return false" lines to make it work. -
『Syameimaru Studio』Touhou Submod (slowly WIP)
itchboy replied to jerry7428's topic in Conceptual Modifications
I'd like to request that model credits be attached with the models that you present. We need to know who made what in order to prevent theft and other asset ownership issues. If its a group photo, then I will be fine with not having credits, but individual units such as that Toyota Crown, Iveco thing and the Kei truck must be credited. If you are doing model conversions, please be aware that google sketchup models are banned here due to an incident that happened a long time ago. -
Traffic lights always are one at a time. Even on my mod with 20-30 as the number, I get the same effect.

I added in a prototype check for all patrol cars so that the bomb squad would never be called. I find this to be impossible unless I missed something in the conditions. WIth that in mind, it might be worth it adding in redundancies if the current conditions fail. -

This mod makes demonstrators mute so they no longer have that annoying repeating dialogue. Attached are three .wav files that replace the original base game files for demonstrators' audio. You're free to put this in whatever mod or project without crediting me. It's just blank audio after all. -

I've tried a few methods to fix it. The bugfixes.rar was updated with yet another change that I hope fixes this once and for all so I can move on already. -

Massachussetts but your name is CanadianFrog? Or is that somebody else? Anyway I have posted more fixes, but the big fish to fry is parking script. Still working on that and some polishing of existing concepts. If the MP expansion goes well, then I'll go back to Miami and implement the fixes there. Afterward, when all of that is done, maybe then I can finish Montana mod. -
