Once again, the police vehicles do not have any lights yet. The author has not made them yet. Saving Mentor some rage points again.
-
Scale is how big/small the vehicle is overall. Note how the police vehicle(?) on the left is so much bigger than everything else on the right. So the vehicles are obviously fictional since we can't predict what vehicles are used in the future. Alright.
-
Honestly I think you should focus on reworking your models first before you advance to the mapping and texturing stage. If I had to say something about your models: They all appear way too boxy and sharp, almost square.Models lack definition, contours and shadingTheir scale might be off compared to similar vehicles in Em4Are you basing these vehicles off real existing ones or are these purely fictional? Are these vehicles from present day or future? The axis on Tanker 19 is reversed, needs to face forwardYou could advance to that if you want, but UV mapping cannot be edited and is final once you do it.

Map Change | Game Crash on map load
itchboy replied to Pottyscotty's topic in Modding Related Support
Thats the good news. Your map is not totally corrupted like what happened to me. Your map probably has a car accident or other freeplay event that is broken, causing game to crash upon startup. -
Map Change | Game Crash on map load
itchboy replied to Pottyscotty's topic in Modding Related Support
Looks like it crashes during initialization of freeplay events, specifically car crashes. Had an issue some years back where a wrongly setup car crash broke my freeplay. The important question. Does it load in the editor? -
Someone replied to you in your other question. Next time please don't post the same question in different topics. Go to Textures folder and you will find firehose.dds in it. This is the texture file for the firehoses.

Denver Mod! [Released Not Done Version]
itchboy replied to RestingVermin's topic in Mod Development and Concepts
The numbers can be pretty much anything actually. He doesn't need to use actual numbers, but he is indeed missing numbers on the vehicles. Would be cool if he used actual vehicle numbers, license plates and tiny details unique to those vehicles. Nobody (but my LA Mod vehicles) does that actually. The PD paint scheme of Denver PD is actually quite easy to replicate. LAPD would probably be the only thing that's easier to do. -
To add to what NFK said, when you use blank vehicles and modding packs, try to make them as unique and special as possible. Look at other mods and try to see what you can do to set yourself apart from the rest. My signature has a large number of blank vehicle bases (made by me) available for download. Feel free to choose. As stated above, a lightbar is the easiest scratch model to start with. All you need is to make an object that's basically a rectangle. I'm gonna take a guess you know what polygons, surfaces and vertexes are by this point. Some tutorials for how to model cars in Zmod: http://www.etspe.ca/zmt/v2/gettingstarted.html http://www.zmodeler2.com/?mode=docs http://www.etspe.ca/zmt/v1/3.html You then have to learn how to UV map it once the model is done. UV mapping is the act of assigning the surface of the model to a texture. The tutorial found here explains: http://forum.emergency-planet.com/tutorials/article/3-zmodeler-2-uv-mapping-texturing/

Los Angeles Mod Vehicle Set [STOPPED]

Thanks for the insight. Light preview of HAZMAT. Lights by Flnn Rescue with edits by me. Special thanks to MikeyPI for helping me create the roof equipment. Here's a real family picture: -
You appear to be using some Montana mod units. I can clearly see the BCSO patrol car there, and what looks like a reskin of the MPPD Traffic Patrol Car Please credit bama. You're using his stuff without crediting him. He and Flnn Rescue 12 put a lot of work into these.

Denver Mod! [Released Not Done Version]
itchboy replied to RestingVermin's topic in Mod Development and Concepts
Some tips to help improve your mod: Try not to aim for just simple reskins of my or other's vehicles. Its nice having different things once in a while. Here's some tips to vastly increase the accuracy of your units. You should try to add variants and things. Best example in that pic would be for you to change out the light setup on the ambulance box. There are many light setups you can find on the internet. The police crusiers could be installed with many equipment such as bama's spotlights, rambar and ALPR cameras. You have a decent selection of lightbars to choose from, cops, mine or EmC-Unit's.According to Bugi, the skin looks simple. Some insight I can give:I'm guessing your skins are based of these:You can use my Whelen Freedom lightbar then color the lightbar according to that. Bama's spotlights and rambar are perfect for this vehicle. Everything for this vehicle is available here.Your logos and decals are a bit too big and you're missing the circle decal at the rear bit behind rear windowThe part of the rambar that wraps can be modelled very easillyThe rear window texture can be edited to have those bars and stuff on itFor the ambulance skin:I'd recommend making the orange stripe wrap around the vehicle more. Its missing the top stripe and some letteringThe LED's on the box appear to be big versions of Whelen M2's that I've releasedA nice touch would be modelling the oval things on the hood and the horn on the sideSome new wheels would suffice. The front wheels in my ambulance are perfect for this role, but you could make your own.Now for my opinion on the mapIt looks great and is a breath of fresh air from all of the mods using the LA Mod mapAlthough its new, it feels too European IMO. Doesn't look American to me coming from someone who's never been in AmericaYou could try sourcing new North American architectural buildings into the mapSomething really cool would be to model the actual firestation, hospital, etc in Denver. -

Some more ingame shots. -
Awesome. Great that you got the callout script working. Hopefully you can get them to complete themselves and give the player points upon completion. You're one of only 2 released mods (the other being CPH mod itself) that has this. We have something similar in store for everyone but its far from complete as of now. I'd personally give alpha/beta stuff to only specific trusted people. This should weed out the bugs while keeping a low profile. I'd much prefer as a modder that you keep this under wraps and not bow to public pressure to release ASAP despite any bugs. It would be better for the community IMO if you'd finish this completely and then release it for everyone. This would also keep the quality level of the site's mods up. What I'd like to see? Is the best you can do with your talent, skill and time. Don't be too worried with what people might suggest. You also need to be aware when taking suggestions that there might be some that sound nice, and seem easy in theory but are impossible to do in EM4. Pushing the limit would be nice but there is a point where an 8 year old game can take you and it isn't that far.

USAR lights done by Flnn Rescue with some edits by me. Showing off a unique feature. A working animated floodlight. More mods should have this feature along with animated ladder legs. -

No top view pics here either. -
Some additional info. The 'pack' function corrupts models that are greater than 500kb. This is a warning to anyone locking large .v3o files. In fact, packing files no longer serves a purpose. It actually makes mod loading times longer because the game has to unpack these files to read them. It could be used as a theft deterrent to custom scratch made models or as a form of copy protection just because its so cumbersome and tiring to lock every model and texture file like the LA Mod.

Because he didn't do the lights on most of the units yet Just saving Mentor some rage points.

Los Angeles Mod Vehicle Set [STOPPED]
itchboy replied to itchboy's topic in Mod Development and Concepts
Probably won't do LA County. There aren't any LA County FF's in the game. Unless someone wants to make new person skins and send them to me. I choose my engines through google. What I can find when I google LAFD Fire Engine is what I make. Light preview of the new engines and other vehicles Lights on Engines and LAXPD Caprice by Flnn Rescue with some edits by me.All other vehicles were lighted 100% by me -
http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.php?app=downloads&module=display§ion=screenshot&record=2426&id=620&full=1 This should give more variety in fire trucks. http://forum.emergency-planet.com/files/file/620-fire-truck-cab-pack/ These are cabs that need to be worked on in Zmodeler and given crosslays and rear bodies. Just giving them out for the benefit of the community. Feedback is appreciated.

Would it be rude to try to contact Mike and ask for help? I'd do fictional but it would be a pain in the ass having to re animate the model once I finish it. And it would bug me every time I see it that "this has been faked". -

Thanks for the pics. I've seen both already and they only give marginal info on what's up there. How did Hoppah even make the original models anyway with such little info?
