  1. Did you name the animations properly? Did you name them like the original RW in Em4?
  2. http://forum.emergency-planet.com/tutorials/article/2-animating-3d-models/ This tutorial should cover the basics. All you need is the "frames" in between the spotlight being down and up. Some examples from my own works:
  3. I suggest sending it to trustworthy people to improve and bugfix em. Then do a public giveaway if you want.
  4. Yeah. He should really credit the game company responsible for making the originals. Though I could immediately tell it was from 18Wos due to the apparent high poly nature of the trailer. I would have done this, but alas, people hate me now so they're no longer worthy of my content. /s Srsly though, if people would respect mod author's wishes and credit properly (and it goes without saying not stealing models) 90% of the site's problems would go away.
  5. Caprice: Whelen Legend CVPI: Same as Caprice CVPI 2: Whelen Freedom Edge CVPI 3: Code3 MX7000 Charger: Whelen Justice Taurus: None Tahoe: Looks like a Whelen Inner Edge
  6. Tried getting any of them to use a chainsaw or axe?
  7. I believe that would be NFK, seeing as how everyone on FB and Em-Europe hates him so much.
  8. Well, I'm getting quite popular aren't I?

  9. Tis easy My newer F350 model (if you can still find it), then raise the ride height, then model the rear cap. Then take bama's Setina pushbar. You then need to model the tow hook and the trailer. Then you model it those monster truck tires.
  10. Lang folder, then de, en or us, depending on your language/country, then events.xml
  11. My context was for the english speaking community. I am aware of the German forums. As a whole, their mods arent exactly just reskins because most of them take the time to change out parts, add new things, and create new models. Over here, its the minority who are able to do that. I am not totally against reskin mods, but I do notice that it is the authors of those kinds of mods causing the most trouble on this site. Its just a trend I've noticed over the 5 years I've been lurking on this site and the one year I've actually been a member here. Problem here is, that many people here start a mod without the experience needed to start one, nor without knowing the rules. The line I am trying to draw is that there is an increasing trend of the majority not respecting the credits of models and other content. The people who tend to violate this are the reskin mods. So its only natural I feel this way towards them. There isn't a conspiracy that there is a credit sissue. Many violations over time have occured on this site. Modders such as myself have simply did what we did as an act of self preservation so that our things do not get ripped apart upon release. And yes, some people here believe that the mods should come out of the sky.. At the end of the day, modding works fine for the German community because their members are so much more mature and know the rules. Its not possible to compare EmP and the Germans because they are by far so much more disciplined and know the rights/wrongs of Em4 modding. Many experienced modders here have tried teaching other members in private but with little success due to the mindset of "instant gratification". Most decided not to continue being taught because they realized that reskin mods are faster and easier than actually learning various skills like scripting and modelling especially. The difference also, is that in the German forums, the beginners and experienced modders know each other's role on this site. Over here, we have people sassing each other over tiny things and overstepping each other's bounds. The reason nobody over there is crying about it is because their members credit their content creators. They also make sure to provide adequate documentation. Over there, how many new models are you seeing coming out? Quite a lot, but note how most of the civil car models such as those by TimmyX only get exported over here. It is not possible to compare here and the German forums, simply because its a different world there.
  12. Not just that. People dont give a **** about mods. New models or not, they will applaud it anyway. I could model this and put a lightbar on it and it would be hailed as "unique" and "nice" and "awesome". The entitled views of the majority don't care about time, effort, respect, dignity, credits, and how mod authors have lives outside of Em4. The number one thing I hate though is the persecution complex by some members "OOH THE OPRESSION!1111 I CANT STEAL MODELS!!1111" A good example. Where did you get the idea that the moderators would do such a terrible thing such as censoring you? Or banning you? What wrong have you done besides stating a fallacy? The moderators here aren't proactive. They only deal with you when you are in the wrong or commit a violation of the rules. None of them are out to actively get you in the way your statement implies. They're too busy with real life to give a damn. And running to Emergency Europe won't save you. As stated by NFK, he and Stan can complain to the webhost of Emergency Europe to have any offending content taken down. If anything, that site will go down along with Em4 modding as a whole. Until the more mature and respectful members are allowed by the majority to stand up for themselves, Em4 modding will die and basically be relegated to the same 20 vehicles in different skin colors. Reap what you sow.
  13. Woah woah woah. So that means that because you used my content in your mod, it means its automatically yours? I'd like to chime in because your mods use a lot of my stuff. My content is free to use, yes, but you need permission to use my things, and you need to credit me. If you feel that you don't like those terms, then the only right thing for you to do is remove my content from all your mods. Its simple really, you can credit me and not whore out my things to random people or you will have to take my stuff out. Thats my say in it because it involves my things. Goodbye, and good luck with your modding endeavors. A number of self righteous members decided its okay to screw over content creators. They then complained when these content creators fought for their rights. These members then decided to make the whole thing an issue and blame the content creators instead of themselves for starting this whole mess. The community then splintered into two factions, majority one that finds stealing as acceptable, and the other small minority who make new content but are unwilling to share due to the bad attitude of the majority. Then when called out on the thefts/lack of crediting/violation of rules, they cry "oppresion" and then blame everyone else. The content creators who get screwed over again and again (like me) then decided to leave the site for good. The majority modders such as this guy decided to leave the site and go to another one (Facebook probably) where there are no copyright rules, so that they can use whatever the heck they like without impunity. Trouble is, that the only mods left for EM4 are now just reskin mods, now that no new models are being produced. And the only ones to blame are the people who just want new mods regardless of quality. The authors of these so called mods are also to blame. They have their fancy Facebook pages, clan websites and whatnot, as if they're so great. Fact is, that these things are just gimmicks to increase popularity and not improve quality. The drama is not caused by content creators at all, but by the reskin mod authors who claim oppresion, and the entitled members who feel that it isn't fair that model makers ask for credit. They say that "oh, EmP has become a sh*thole, lets revolt and pillage". Then they form other sites to compete with EmP, but at the end of the day, Em4 modding as a whole is going to die because of the actions of these reskin mods and their authors. The community is also responsible in large for accepting this kind of behavior and attitude.
  14. Google is your friend. I had to sort out all the light patterns for my vehicles through research and guesswork. And if you can model, we'd be happy to see what you can do. What experience do you have in Zmodeler and how many other vehicles/parts/objects have you created so far?
  15. You guys could very easilly take my Durastar cab, model the custom rear end for DC and use my light equipment to get the lights exactly right First set of noticeable changes are that you'd have to model a set of mirrors on the front part. Pretty easy if you use the cylinder tool and just model out the supports. The mirror itself is a square shape so no problem modelling and extruding it. You'd have to remove the circular gas tank on the right side stepboards on the cab and change it into a rectangular one that is placed deeper in the lower cab portion. The left can stay as is. The front bumper needs to be thickened a bit. So take the existing bumper, move its forward facing nodes forward and extrude it a bit. UV map the top part to get the diamond metal plating on it. The equipment on the bumper is a speaker and you can just make a fake one using a simple square and insert it onto the bumper. Light equipment on the cab are all Whelen M7's in red. My pack has them, up to you to find a copy of my lighting pack. The ambo box uses Whelen M9's which are basically M7's but much bigger. You can take the existing ambo box of the LA Mod LRA and remodel it a bit, cut out a side door for it and make its rear parts match to the real thing. You would also need to cut out equipment doors for it and make the wheel arch have a part that sticks out. The rear part has a mix of Whelen M9's and M4's. There are some M2's in there too. You will have to model a custom stepboard for the rear box. The tail lights can just be a texture. My guess is that its an embedded Whelen 500 series.
  16. I'd hate to sound picky but that doesnt portray a Lenco BEAR well enough. It seems too low and too wide/fat. Its front rambar sticks out way too much IMO. The side stepboards are a bit too far out as well. Whats the polycount on this model btw? Some of it seems based off of the LA Mod SWAT Rescue 2. The lights and LED's seem to give that impression. The hood shape also seems quite similar to Rescue 2. Some hints to making a better BEAR model: Taken from my cancelled vehicle set. I'd make the proportions narrower and taller. As of right now, your model looks more like a bank armored truck rather than a SWAT tactical vehicle. The headlights also are missing the covers on them and are supposed to be recessed deep in the square part. It might be preferable to reduce the extension on the stepboard to make the vehicle look less fat. The wheel arch could also be reduced along with that. I'm assuming this is what you're aiming for. Note how tall the thing is next to a hooman being. The wheel arch is in a half pentagonal shape and not that round as seen in your pic. The front bumper that goes downward could also be extended a bit. The overhang on the roof over the windshield also seems a bit drastic. It should be trimmed a little. You're also missing the two gun ports underneath the rear windows. There also seems to be too little distance from the front passenger doors to the rear box extension where the rest of the stuff is.
  17. If you keep the aspect ratio the same, the UV mapping won't be ruined. If its currently 512x512, making it 1024x1024 won't hurt. Its what I did.
  18. You're welcome. Those Chargers have improved skins that I resized to 1024, then added the decals on them afterwards. A simple resizing and redrawing of the Charger texture is all you need. Taurus on left has 1024 vs Nnico's 2k CVPI on right.
  19. The LA Mod one is actually better IMO than Nnico's model. It has a much more accurate shape and captures the look of an '06 Charger much better. If you give it a bit of a reskin and some touch ups, they can look quite good. From my personal LA mod, and no, I ain't giving it. Don't fall into the gimmick that HD skin and highpoly model = good. In this game, less is more. Also, you could easilly take the LA Mod Chargers and rip the lightbars off of them. Then you're done.
  20. Thank you so much. We definitely appreciate it and would need any advice or help you can give.
  21. Hmmm..I think this is it. The loop would declare a new vehicle as it cycles. Let me know of the improvements. Such a simple piece of code was overlooked unfortunately due to the rush to release this mod back in Chrismas 2014.
  22. The issue you described has something to do with the map itself, and not any scripts. There might be a spawnpoint that is glitched. Another thing to look for is the StopSign and NightSounds scripts because those run all throughout the duration of gameplay, unlike the volunteer script which only runs when called. I'd recommend also looking into those. What breaks do you mean? What have you changed exactly. Your help is very appreciated and I would like to thank you for helping out in the development process.
  23. Some hints. Maybe pointer variables are more efficient, so get your asterisks and -> ready. Despite having some knowledge of C programming, I don't know the effect or difference of having pointers vs regular variables in Em4, except for functions. The scripts I've made so far don't make use of functions so pointers to me didn't seem like a useful thing unless I was going to "pass" something. Another option would be to divide the command scripts further into individual functions and have them pass pointer variables instead. I am unsure if this makes it more efficient, but from what I've learned, having a single permanent variable that changes in a case to case basis is more efficient than having 10 different variables which may or may not even be used.
