The current release aint so stable, thus the change in title. Its basically a forewarning. If the mod crashes, we told you so.

Los Angeles Mod Vehicle Set [STOPPED]
itchboy replied to itchboy's topic in Mod Development and Concepts
About a year ago, some concerns came up that my vehicles lack the contours and shading that other models (such as MikeyPI's) have. Personally, I am too fixed on my current methods to bother changing em out. -
Los Angeles Mod Vehicle Set [STOPPED]

Unfortunately, I only want to do the Utility and Engine. Having a Crew Carrier would be redundant in the mod due to there being enough off map backup units from LA County. More importantly, USFS won't be a frontline agency, but rather an off map support that player can utilize if he manages to burn half the map down. -
I agree to this. It seems plenty of people keep messing it up and posting in Em5 for their Em4 concerns. This is a simple solution to a problem that we face. Thank you for fixing it.

Moar pitches to verify that this aint vaporware -
Stuff like that is just way too complex for the fire system that Em4 was given back in 06. Try other games if you want more complex firefighting. Someone has attempted a backdraft in a certain German mod, but it usually came at the cost of the mod itself being very very prone to crashing and being qutie unstable.

Ooopsie. Could hardly tell the difference between the Legacy and the Justice. Both appear similar due to their thinned out appearance. And you're right that the rear bar is an Inner Edge. I make use of one for some of my things. Leftmost Charger.

MUCH better. This is what I was trying to say.

Los Angeles Mod Vehicle Set [STOPPED]

The far north part of our planned freeplay map would be considered "out in the sticks" so LACOFD have some stuff that can be used there, or at least thats what my plan is. USFS Silverado Utility final skin by EmergencyFan6299 -

One tanker for LAFD, another one for County Fire. This is the one currently underway This will be done much later, when I have all on map units completed. -

My content is exclusive to EmP. Permission is required and each author needs to ask me personally exactly what will be used for members here. I will no longer be reuploading my files on advice of moderators and by my own voiltion. -

I understand. Just saying that I'd do what I can to maintain a good quality standard with my models. -

You're welcome. Despite their inherent fakeness, they seem quite popular on your site, and also here. Maybe I should ask around if people want my formula to change. -

Yeah its been a longstanding issue that my skins lack the contours and shading of real vehicles. Something I should fix next time. -

Coming together nicely. -
To add to my post. Spotlight is probably a Whelen PAR46, so someone's gotta model one. HINT: I HAVE A SET OF THEMOlder CVPI of theirs has a Code3 360 which I also have btw Has an older Whelen Spotlight. This picture shows the newer CVPI's. They have Code3 21TR lightbars. I have many variants of these Code3 lightbars. This picture also gives a good view of the police uniforms worn by both male and female officers, so this could be useful for OP. Still uses the same older Whelen spotlight as the above. A third variant of CVPI uses a Whelen Liberty and has a rear traffic bar. I have a Whelen LIberty lightbar model ehehe.

Kent (UK) Mod (Dev Release)
itchboy replied to Pottyscotty's topic in Early Access/Alpha Stage Modifications
This is the ace up my sleeve and the reason my LA mod has suddenly become private. This is gonna be one major development. Good luck with your map as well. Hopefully both of ours drop at the same time so that we can get USA and UK representation. -

Map layout idea is good. Creating a cheap template like that is the basic foundation of any freeplay map. I have my own here that you may use as a guide. Its best to set the roads up to Em4 scale ahead before you actually lay them out. Also, you need to mind that the AI pathing in this game is horrible and would need to be a consideration once setup ingame. This kind of template allows for labels, quick changes, and when sized up to 8192^2, it can be put in the editor itself and worked on as an actual map. Its a gradual process from solid color to actual texture, so I wish you good luck on that propsect. My own map is still in the planning phase as well. Here's a little surprise reveal from my secret mod folder: Its basically the above layout but with a little more refinement done to it. Still needs a lot of work, but it will get there eventually. Thanks to mah bro, EmergencyFan6299, we got at least somewhere with it. -
Putting lights on a Person
itchboy replied to willowfork fire capt's topic in Modding Related Support
Kinda like how the LA Mod added the ballistic shield, MP5, and etc. I'm not sure with the scanning and lighting part. Those are just theories. The principle in this lies in the PutObjectInRightHand() function. -
Putting lights on a Person
itchboy replied to willowfork fire capt's topic in Modding Related Support
Theoretically, another way would be to create a flashlight object (with a light already in it), place it on the hand of the person via script, and then set the script to "scan" for the flashlight object and enable the light that is in it. Problem is, there is no way to "aim" the flashlight in Em4, so you'll only have a single corona marking where your unit is and not actually something useful for lighting a scene for example. -
I added this piece of code to my FireStation start script at the portion that belongs to the tiller m.PushActionExecuteCommand(ACTION_APPEND, "VcmdFlashingLights", &m, 0, false);I removed this line of code because the above does the same thing m.EnableBlueLights(false);Should work.

IIRC, bama packaged the camera hack into the Montana mod. Check your em4.cfg (or em4deluxe.cfg if you play EM4 Deluxe) and see if the values are the same as the originals:
