  1. This is the automatic installer, LA Mod does not come in a folder like some others, it comes in that executable file, it's perectly safe, just run the program and do as the directions say Edit ; any files uploaded directly to EMP is 100% virus and corruption checked and clear, they personally review all files inside the downloads before it is released on EMP Downloads page also, Harbor City 4.2 was released on squad55.com
  2. I might be wrong but try this,Go into your modifications folder and go into the mod that you want the sounds to edit, then go to Audio/FX and find the audio voices and just slide in the voices you want to use
  3. There's a downloadable application that will help you edit your .cfg, just find the variables you want and you can input them into the application, just remember to set your entire EM4 folder to allow changes made by your account.http://forum.emergency-planet.com/files/file/525-emergency-4-configurator/
  4. I believe if you go into the sounds/audio fx folder you will find the audio files for actions, but I am not anywhere near a modder so if someone has a better way to explain go ahead
  5. They go through his Program Files [usually unless directed otherwise when installing], it'll be in his steam library under steamapps/common and when he gets into the 911:FR directory, he just moves the modpack into the mods folder.
  6. I'd like to addon to Randoms reply, make sure you're not loading a save file that was made previous to editing the xml files.
  7. Oh, sorry about that, forgot about that issue, here is what I found on microsofts support page
  8. Assuming you mean your modinstaller is giving that it's installed improperly, probably because you have 911:FR from Amazon or something, I'll include a fix in the spoiler below, due to the amount of lines so that it saves someone time to reply. BUT keep in mind, this isn't a definite issue, as I have had my installer fix for awhile now, but since it's saying all those are corrupted, I sense it's the installer/your EM4 itself
  9. Right click on the exe file and click "Run as administrator"
  10. I might be wrong, but have you tried running it as administrator? I know there is one installer in that pack that doesn't automatically require administrative permissions. Also, just a friendly hint, next time just report the thread and request a moderator to move the topic, so that you don't get introuble for technically making duplicate threads.
  11. Go into freeplay_parameters.xml (I believe) and edit the time change factor to 0
  12. It might be easier for you just to list which units from Northview you've used, so that he can get a more clear list of what is and isn't his.
  13. Are you sure your changes are saving..? That's the only reason I'd think it wouldn't work, everytime I edit my vehicle commands they work as I put in editor.
  14. 1. Why is it so hard to add the requirements to your main post, instead of making us PM you just to findout we can't apply because we don't meet the requirement. 2. I don't find the rank structure quite useful, it's just more a title than a rank, I feel that rank systems don't work so well in small communitys. 3. I don't mean to be rude, but typing every beginning letter with a capital letter gives off the impression that you aren't fit for commanding a community.
  15. Well this technically isn't the first one out, it's still the most advanced and first with actually stations.
  16. I think it'd be freeplay.dds or freeplay.e4m, I know freeplay.e4m is used to add models like parking spots and stoplights and such. You really should have made a backup version, that's the very first rule to modding.
  17. That's the sad thing about automated systems, you get copyright claimed for unintendend use of copyrighted music, but you see youtubers sometimes barrely wearing a shirt (females). No.. Just no..
  18. Just have him go on TheNorthernAlex's modding tutorial.
  19. You'd be better off finding a online CAD & MDT like software, doing what you want would require major scripting and heavy testing for bugs and its limits.
  20. Nobody said we don't believe in you, the thing we were talking about is what you make us see. You put stuff out on a forum for everyone to see, you will get constructive criticism, hell I feel that's one main way everyone finds good ideas to add into their work ethic or modding style, but in all very nice units.
  21. We're not against it because it's not the type like LA Mod of NYC, NFK pointed out very good points, you did canceled two modifications because you "got bored", that gives us and everyone else reasonable thoughts to your ability to make a working modification. I certainly do not care if it's a a New York City modification or not, aslong as it's a good base release or atleast shows promising work, I'd fully support the modification and I think everyone else is the same exact way.
  22. So well said and put, I fully agree, canceling one modification is understandable, it's the way of life and not everything will always go as expected, but after a few modification cancelations you pretty much lose all your credibility and fanbase for said modifications.
  23. From what you said about NYC Mod, I assume you're trying to install a .e4mod file, you most likely need to openup it via modinstaller in C:\Program Files (x86)\sixteen tons entertainment\Emergency 4 , but anymore than that is hard to tell as you did not include specific details on what is not working. Here is a fix if you mean your modinstaller is not working, because NYC Mod is a .e4mod file and requires modinstaller to install it1. Re-install 911 First Responders to C:\Program Files (x86)\sixteen tons entertainment\Emergency 4 instead of the default directory. 2. Start regedit by selecting Start - Run, typing in 'regedit' and then hitting 'OK'. 3. Select 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE' and press the '+' button to its left to expand the list. 4. Next, select 'SOFTWARE' and press the '+' button to its left to expand the list. 5. Right-click on 'SOFTWARE' and select New > Key. Enter the new key name: sixteen tons entertainment 6. Right-click on 'sixteen tons entertainment' and select New > Key. Enter the new key name: Emergency 4 7. Right-click on 'Emergency 4' and select New > String value. Enter the new key name: Installdir 8. Right-click on 'Installdir' and select Modify. In the 'Value Data' field, C:\Program Files (x86)\sixteen tons entertainment\Emergency 4 BUT If you just don't know how to install modifications, check this video out made by TheNorthernAlex, explains how to install MOST modifications. http://youtu.be/42OykAoD968
