I hate to ask this but what is the make and model of the lightbar that all the LAPD units are using in the mod, I have seen it on the roofs of the neighboring city's units, but still have no idea, and is it a really popular type in LA, because it seems very odd looking and non-american is the only way I can really put it. By the way, great job mikey on the impala, looks great.

You know, It is funny you brought that up, the U.S.C.G. operates HH-60J Jayhawks in as a medium range search and rescue platform, this includes water extrication, and yet you cant pick people out of the water, I understand that the game very likely would not let you just pick someone up out of the water, but maybe adding a second position onto the helicopter for a U.S.C.G. rescue swimmer who could be lowered by winch into the water would also be very beneficial. As far as the officer goes, here is a little tidbit about the U.S.C.G. and law enforcement. Authority as a law enforcement agency The Coast Guard has law enforcement powers, in contrast with the other branches of the United States Armed Forces which are prevented from acting in a law enforcement capacity by the Posse Comitatus Act and Department of Defense policy. 14 U.S.C. § 89 is the principal source of Coast Guard enforcement authority. 14 U.S.C. § 143 and 19 U.S.C. § 1401 empower US Coast Guard Active and Reserve commissioned officers, warrant officers, and petty officers as federal customs officers. This places them under 19 U.S.C. § 1589a, which grants customs officers general law enforcement authority, including the authority to: (1) carry a firearm; (2) execute and serve any order, warrant, subpoena, summons, or other process issued under the authority of the United States; (3) make an arrest without a warrant for any offense against the United States committed in the officer's presence or for a felony, cognizable under the laws of the United States committed outside the officer's presence if the officer has reasonable grounds to believe that the person to be arrested has committed or is committing a felony; and (4) perform any other law enforcement duty that the Secretary of Homeland Security may designate. The U.S. Government Accountability Office Report to the House of Representatives, Committee on the Judiciary on its 2006 Survey of Federal Civilian Law Enforcement Functions and Authorities identified the U.S. Coast Guard as one of 104 federal components employed which employed law enforcement officers. The Report also included a summary table of the authorities of the U.S. Coast Guard's 192 special agents and 3,780 maritime law enforcement boarding officers. Coast Guardsmen have the legal authority to carry their service-issued firearms on and off base, thus giving them greater flexibility when being called to service. This is not always done in practice, however; at many Coast Guard stations, commanders prefer to have all service-issued weapons in armories. Still, one court has held that Coast Guard boarding officers are qualified law enforcement officers authorized to carry personal firearms off-duty for self-defense. As members of a military service, Coast Guardsmen on active and reserve service are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice and receive the same pay and allowances as members of the same pay grades in the other uniformed services

Yes, it is called 911 First Responders, it can be bought off of direct 2 drive and a few other places
-
It'd be nice if someone did this but with a Old Seagrave cab, now that would be cool
-
Wow, imagine how much that would have cost to use all those units for something simple like that

Surprisingly enough even though there is no airport, I usually at the beginning of the free-play game tone out three LAX ambos, to replace the ALS ones, and I will keep one of the crash trucks near one of the areas where you really dont want a fire so it can be put out right away, say in the dockyard area where there tends to be a hazmat spill if theres a fire, so its usually quickly put out by the crew before it gets bad, and personally before 1.9 the LAX crash truck i would roll out if there was a really serious fire where the normal units already on map were not enough, seeing as it has a more powerful deck gun, has two more guys than a foam tender and looks way coolers as far as the LAX police units i never use any units aside form LAPD, well actually that's a lie sometimes i feel like being special and only using CHP pd units, unless its like something that needs SWAT but yeah, the units I tend not to use are LASD, FBI, Nat. Guard, and some of the tech vehicles, for instance because there's the LAFD heavy rescue crane I use that instead of the tech crane, it looks nicer... Wow I absolutely rambled on there, why did nobody stop me, oh right, you guys aren't sitting next to me DOH!

[EM4] Los Angeles Mod bugs, issues and problems
CptThade replied to Hoppah's topic in Los Angeles Mod
Okay, I lied, before I had said that I only had small issues with traffic, I played one of the original missions and lost all of the LA mod missions, all I did was load one of them, I believe it was the oil rig mission, then after that was over i go to play one of the LA missions, and this is what I see: *Note: I have not been playing the original EM4 missions with LA Mod until I had pretty much beaten all the LA Mod missions, which I had.* **Second Note: Sorry for the small size I am having issues with photobucket.com as of late.* -
[EM4] Los Angeles Mod bugs, issues and problems
CptThade replied to Hoppah's topic in Los Angeles Mod
Yeah, I do, but I'd prefer to keep it standard for the sake of multiplayer, so that there are not a lot of compatibility issues, you know? -
I remember someone posting a video on youtube about how the CHP does a serpentine maneuver with the directional bar on and basically the unit weaves across all lanes and slows down traffic, usually because of high density traffic, or a construction zone.

[EM4] Los Angeles Mod bugs, issues and problems
CptThade replied to Hoppah's topic in Los Angeles Mod
I have been reading about people complaining about traffic, I'm on the the second patch and the only issue I have with traffic is that pedestrians seem to like to walk into the middle of traffic, my solution is to arrest them with a police unit that is handy, and Hoppah, any chance that the tiller will be made to be able to deploy onto a building? Great work btw, the mod is a dream especially the tiller truck, I think that at every free-play that i start I usually swap out the tower for the tiller, very quickly so as not to let a fire spring up on me. -
[EM4] Los Angeles Mod bugs, issues and problems
CptThade replied to Hoppah's topic in Los Angeles Mod
I installed the mod yesterday, and the instillation seemed to go fine, but when i tried to launch the game, it begins to start like normal, but then closes out before the first intro video loads, I have uninstalled and deleted all the files for the game reinstalled just the game and that same problem happens (note: I own 911/FR, not EM:4) I have not been able to fix the problem by conventional meas, the game itself wont work at this point, and this all happened after I installed 1.9. -
Well I seem to have a very serious issue, I installed the new mod, and now whenever I start my game it crashes before it even gets to the into movie, I tried reinstalling the game and it still doesn't work, anyone got any suggestions? (I have 911/FR only)

In all honesty some of the positions are questionable, but I'd really like to see this rated on combat effectiveness rather than formulas, a lot of the placement on this list is absolute crap. Edit: Why the hell are you [...] complaining about NATO limitations, the only thing they really limit is the use, and number of nuclear weapons of the major nuclear powers (aka United States, and The Russian Federation [Formerly Union of Soviet Socialist Republics]) so yeah, by the way if it was not for the fact that neither France nor Germany have fought against an equal in combat in the last 60 years or so, we really cannot compare any of these countries to each other for the same reason, the main battles that have gone on recently have been in the middle east usually with UN forces (note there is a difference between NATO and the UN*) against poorly equipped and under manned armies of middle eastern nations. *Note: NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization it was created during the cold war to combine all the forces of the free democratic states of Europe and the US together to act as a measure of defense against the USSR, in response the USSR formed the Warsaw Pact, a soviet version of NATO. The UN, or United Nations, is a global organization that was created to help prevent future wars such as both world wars and the cold war from happening again, the UN consists of almost every stable government world wide.

When I brought this up I was already aware of this and was thinking of having it look like that as an aesthetic appendage until it was fully understood to make it functional.
-
Hoppah, don't know if you've been paying attention to all the other mod topics, but in the paradise city mod topic they mentioned something about a cherry picker to replace the engineer car and I thought that such vehicles cannot be uncommon in LA, somewhere along the lines of something like this:
-
Hoppah's LA mod, but that may change depending on the NYC mod so yeh, we will see.
-
Why is it that when people say how could this possibly be worse, something worse happens and then the person next to them usually gets pissed at them? Edit: just for reference I said this when my computer was about to become a fried computer and then the hard drive gets corrupted I LOST EVERYTHING!!!! and now I have to buy a new hard drive and I have to use a computer that's like 8 years old=epic fail
-
O.O I am currently driving one of these, bought it about a week ago after market, but yeah...
-
Hoppah, I do have a quick question for you, Will, you make a new updated version of the mission patch, where you could play the original EM4 missions, I enjoyed that a lot especially with some of the more difficult missions of EM4 that were made easier with the LA mod units, just to note I own 911/FR, and unfortunately people keep bringing up the deluxe version and everything I have not bought it, yet.

This is a great song and it is meant to honor all the firefighters who risk their lives everyday for you and me so we can keep on living.
-
I absolutely agree, I mean personally I have witnessed both sides of the coin, where either the FD either went in there put out the fire and helped save some valuable posesions of the family living in the house, or they put out the fire left and the family had to deal with everything being ruined, it depends really on the departments policy and how the individual fire fighter sees things.
-
Complaint: My local FD is not currently running recruit classes, so no job
-
Personally I prefer the forest fire but having to roll out the MCU in freeplay will be fun for once I guess, but I mean it would be hellish

Old people care about old music Why did they release EM4 as 911FR, i mean all the other EM games were released with the same name as in europe.
