    It works for me. I just wait for the green light then when it's green click on 'download' (The big red button) There is 3 of them. Then a download pop-up appears.

    The Atari website is safe, but I'm not sure about direct2drive I expect it is though. A mod is short for modification and they are things you download and add onto your game, they will often give you more features and make the game more fun. You can get mods for Em4 (or 911 First Responders) here. If you get mods from this site they will (99.999999%) be safe.
