  1. I'm pretty sure the C.I.A isn't a "useless" organisation. I think the casaulty rate would only increase for a very short period while the armed forces fight the warlords, but I'm pretty sure that's better than the current suffering. The death rate would never exceed that of the Mugabe reign or the Rwanda genocide. Last time somebody in power said "Let's stop all this spending on the military - We should be able to talk issues and conflict around the table", several years later we were at war again that lasted 6 years. World peace is nice on paper, but not everyone thinks in the same manner. Darn. I was hoping to hear Taylor's point of view.
  2. They've been recruiting for ages. There were a couple of audio and video ads on the plane I was on when we were landing in Atlanta four years ago - same for when we were leaving.
  3. Well this was a short lived thread... Played the demo, was pretty good actually - but the motion blur makes me feel really sick (never have this issue with other games) Also, apparently ArmA2 has a lot more scripts in the missions, which can be annoying since it limits some playing styles.
  4. This confused me more than the actual purpose of the topic. EDIT: ...?
  5. BF2 project reality is still nothing compared to this, and yes it is online. The country it's based in (fictional island called Sahrani) is 400kmĀ². You can go to anywhere on the island at any given time. Online capacity is also server's capability. If you want more detail about the game, just say.
  6. What is the OP after? Nothing like Battlefield 2. ArmA is way more tactical than BF2
  7. Is that legal in the U.S? Wait, what?
  8. I havn't played it in a while, but have they fixed the training yet?
  9. They're just normal lapd units but blue/white instead. Originally it was going to be green/white like in vice city, butI can't find a good green that doesn't look horrid. Glad the picture size is ok
  10. Hostage taking ends in tragedy Renowned scientists killed before convention Two world leading scientists in tissue reproduction and cloning have been killed by a lone hostage taker after an 8 hour stand off with police, SWAT and F.B.I. The gunman is believed to be an extremist who was here to protest potential human cloning. It has also been reported that the man had been taking deadly cocktails of drugs before and during the incident. The two scientists, both from Heiligendamm in Germany, were in L.A to represent the EU in a world conference to discuss a number of issues and scientific advances, including altering tissue growth for medicine. For reasons unkown, the scientists decided to rent out a house two-miles away from the conference, instead of residing in the hotel that had been secured for lodging. The police first received a call at 1pm from concerned citizens who saw the suspect walk into the property that the scientists were staying in with what appeared to be an assault rifle. Police quickly surrounded the house and negotiators started trying to reason with the man. Fire engines and paramedics were also dispatched to the scene. Although SWAT memebrs were already on scene, they lacked the equipment to mount an assault as the rescue trucks were across town at another incident. Initially, the police were unaware of who the hostages were, but tensions did rise when the scientists were identified. Fears hightened even more when one of the scientists was dragged infront of one of the windows, her face covered in blood from wounds inflicted on her. Realising that they were dealing with an exceptional incident, F.B.I were called to the scene to start negotiations with the man. A command centre was set up where authorities were able to contact the man through a land line. Soon after the F.B.I arrived, SWAT units appeared on scene with shields and stun gas. F.B.I sharp shooters and agents armed with MP5s also surrounded the residence as negotiations continued. However, the windows were boarded up, making a sniper shot impossible. This was used to police advantage though, as SWAT teams stacked up one side of the house, ready for the go ahead. But before the go ahead is given, things take a turn for the worse. One of the hostages is dumped out the front door step with several bullet wounds in her. Accompanied by a couple of SWAT members, a fire fighter makes his way to the woman and brings her back to the ambulance. The woman is pronounced dead on the scene. Fears for the other scientist, the SWAT teams are ordered to back down while police continue with their negotiations. With no clear aim or ransom, it makes it very hard to defuse the situation. Just after 9PM, the situation explodes. The man leaves the house and opens fire on police with an automatic rifle. Officers return fire, killing the man instantly. Luckily, no police officers were hit in the shootout, only a police cruiser which received minor damages. Fearing for the other scientist, The SWAT team mounts their assault and quickly clears the building, only finding the other woman inside in critical condition. Medics immediatly rush towards the house where they start life saving treatment. Sadly, the woman died shortly after arriving at hospital. Sorry if the images are too small, but photobucket seems to be getting worse now

    Quotes

The main reason I'm looking forward to school after the summer holidays is because the homework diaries that are handed out contain quotes on every page. The time one was in last year's diary and is my favourite quote
  13. Apparently it's been somewhere between 17 C and 23 C today, which is 62 F to 74 F according to the ipod. Argh, it's too hot. It's been like this all week and it's horrible. It's too hot to sleep, even summer duvets are useless
  14. location s'il vous plaƮt Sorry, it is small. I'll consider resizing it tomorrow. I don't think it's too small though
  15. The mod looks amazing rihis, keep up the good work I like the fire engine in the first screen, looks awesome
  16. Fortunatly, I have the admins and moderaters in a group hug so they're not here
  17. Does Megan Fox die in this one? (Preferably before the 2nd hour). First one was good, but I don't fancy sitting for more than 2hours. I'll wait till it comes onto Boxoffice. And I really don't like Megan Fox, she annoys me. The special effects of the first one was really good though, and apparently still very similar/better. So that might make it worth seeing
