4GB RAM is minimum, who cares if you got the best graphics card, youre going to need at least 8GB to play higher graphics end. You want to match all the recommended specs if you expect to play it on higher settings. But also always bear in mind with gaming rigs, what type of RAM you have can effect the speed it loads and unloads data also.

I do wonder if most the people complaining are old enough to remember when the first Emergency game came out! I remember it in a PC Gamer demo CD in 2001 (2000?) I think it was..... This game has so much potential its unreal. If you buy yourself a descenr gaming rig, and actually pay attention to whats been added. Rather then expecting LA Mod to come prepacked. You'll probably not need to swear in the post like a silly willy.

Spot on. I don't understand how people are getting low FPS if they have the required minimum spec, as my computer is below minimum spec on GFX card as almost 6 years old, but matches all other minimum spec requirements just and it runs fine, on low settings. But if you have minimum spec of course it will run only on minimum settings. If your having problems, perhaps look at what else is running on your computer, possible you have background programs gobling your RAM and CPU. But its a new game, I would expect it to require a top end gaming PC to run on max graphics otherwise they aren't pushing the envelope! Its not only the graphics that take up computer power, its the amount of animations, actions and advanced AI that is in this game. If you look at the AI editor in the game editor, you can see this engine has come a long way from EM4. No not really at all.... if he was getting higher FPS in EM5 then in GTA IV, that would be rediculious, as it is a new game. Comparing a game from 6 years ago to a modern one that has completely different shading, lighting etc. effects is just pointless. Compare it to GTA V when its released, then you might be on to a relatively closer comparison, but still the two engines are completely different, one a FPS only loading local data and one an large map RTS loading information and AI from across the map. What do people want, a game that feels out of date in two years when the larger mods are ready?

Exactly! I actually think on the outside it looks like a very well done up to date EM4, but in the bones of the engine it has been designed better for modding this time. So actually I think we should all be very happy! See its these confusing comments, which are why people are being disappointed. Of course it is lower FPS then GTA IV. GTA IV came out in 2008. 6 years ago! And even then GTA IV wasn't a very computer heavy game, it doesn't calculate traffic all over the map, only spawns it on the edge of your view line, in fact sometimes spawns it in your view line if your speeding a long very fast in a open area, which looks embarrasing. Emergency 5 is a game running 2014 graphics with a lot of effects GTA IV never had, and GTA V only just has now. And it still calculates and draws up a lot of stuff extra then GTA V would, the games aren't really comparable. Sure they can improve Emergency 5 I reckon, but currently it should work on any half descent gaming PC, if it works on mine, and mines almost 6 years old, then it should work on most peoples. I haven't got no fancy liquid cooled bits or anything, just a descent gaming machine from Christmas 2008.

The game editor seems great to me, so we can look forward to some great mods I suspect! The LUA scripting should attract extra programmers too I hope.

I am not sure how many of the problems are just people not having gaming spec PCs with latest drivers or not currently. Seems to work fine on my almost 6 years old Gaming PC, which has an older Nvidia card then they claim it supports. So bit mythed. The game editor is brilliant, much better then EM4 btw.

Placing Static objects So to start placing statics, and editing them, this editor seems a little more complicated at first, but once you get used to it, it is more practical, and similar other game editors. Go to top bar, and select View, Then tick, - Object Browser (F4) - Object Properties (F5) - Prefab Browser To change between object browser and properties, there is tab in right window right at the bottom. Prefab browser, for selecting items, uses the left side of screen. Creating street systems Okay just figured out how to lay down a section of street, at beginning and end of a long street, lay down two pieces from prefab menu, mentioned above., so they are seperated. E.g. em4/prefab/street/street_03c Then select them and select the position button along top major tool bar (picture of arrows joint at back end, pointing X,Y,Z directions), then raise them, as they spawn slightly under the grass. Then on top bar menu select, - Tools - Street Network (F10) Then this menu will appear on the left side of sceen, again you change change between this and the prefab menu, using a tab at bottom of left side menu. When in the street network menu on the left, double click the prefab/select type path at the top and change to em4/prefab/street/street_03c to match the pieces we layed down. Then click on street button below that. Then select end of one prefab street we layed, and then followed by end of other prefab piece we layed, to connect the streets together.

The tow picking up the actually vehicle, and taking it, and the animations used it really awesome. The detail on the vehicles is amazing. The effects is amazing. The new animations are amazing for everything. And yes the personnel do run in the game, not walk, when they can. So not sure why someone was moaning about that in one thread. I think there is a lot more to the game then people reliase, they need to play the game for more then 2 hours before saying, its rubbish because I can't be bothered to play through the missions and unlock everything!

I hope they release a small tutorial soon for the editor! I want to quickly make some things to try it out, which out having to play for hours to figure one small known thing out!

The game runs great in low settings on my 5 (almost 6) year old gaming rig, which has na old Nvidia Geforce GTX280, just wish the game had more options for individual graphic settings, everything is too shiney and unrealistic looking on my graphics card currently. Make sure you have sufficient RAM, this game is RAM hungry!

On my steam it stated which languages in which country, and a few countries european countries it is currently in english. When purchasing it should indicate what version of the game you are buying, e.g. what language,

Still redownloading it due to a steam muck up. But from the sounds of this thread, they concentrated a lot on basic engine and modding support, to allow there to be a lot of awesome mods coming out. So everyone chill the hell out, and see what we can do with this new game.

Haha, FSX? Thats not that hungry a game. Its not like X-Plane 10 I guess you mean. XD Ironically, people have been moaning about EM5 on steam forums being too basic, wow X-plane 10 they give you like two aircraft, really poor for its price. Apparently in the options you can it so you can micro manage more, be aware of this people, im having to redownload the whole game due to a steam epic fail, sigh, so will check this later.

It don't download and could never download fast enough!!!! I am up for multiplayer tomorrow night, bit late for me to play singleplayer and multiplayer today! -
I guess single player tonight, then multiplayer tomorrow night guys. Depending on the modding tools, might just jump straight in to toying with that tomorrow. Annoying we couldnt prepload, I am finding myself just watching it download now.. hour to go due to slow download i guess due to high usuage.

Emergency 5 Release date and screenshots!
Dosedmonkey replied to Stan's topic in News & Announcement
EDIT released now. -
Often importing and exporting can damage and change models, its best to find out the format and best program to make models with before getting carried away, for if there is a special plug in. Hopefully they will see sense and just use something like the standard .x directx model type.

News: Emergency 5 Editor Event (With pictures!)
Dosedmonkey replied to Stan's topic in News & Announcement
Sounds very awesome! Also sounds like it will save a lot of time on repetative time wasting tasks, allowing for more time to be spent on high quality content, rather then placing fences and carefully photoshopping map floors. Also sounds like it will take some of the figuring out how to edit the game out.file system management, allowing it more accessible to people new to modding. The modding support has always been great, it sounds like its going to improve even further! Fantastic! Thanks sixteen tones entertainment! 6,000 - 20,000 polygons isn't really that high, most other games have been in that range for many years now. You can still create models lower polys, but chances are you can take your old models, and just improve them around the windows and add some detail, rather then having to start them over again. If you can import them from something like Blender, where it is seriously easy to model and texture a model it will help a lot.
