Yeah, mmm... I'm still wondering how to make the alarm go off while TMCRed is on... Preferably... I have 4 lights at an intersection set up with this... I'd rather the sound be radiating from the lights vs the firestation... Any ideas?

This is what I just got done ranting over and once again someone says it. If someone makes a 'sub-mod' per-say and relases it as a comparability to LA MOD, I tend to think Hoppah won't care. HOWEVER if they reskin his vehicles and say it's a mod... I can see him getting disgruntled. Please think before you post things and be precise in what you say. Reskin = To change the skinning while keeping the model Sub-Mod = A modification that is a subordinate OR substitute to a greater modification. If the said party made their own vehicles, but did not release a map, or missions or anything of the like... and then made compatibility within LAMod... This would be a sub-mod. It does not need to be a mod on it's own and it could be released ( but may not be approved ) without the permission of Hoppah since they're not directly violating any code of conduct. HOWEVER: if said party re skinned LAPD cars and made them look like LVPD, there would be a problem. Use the correct words please. This forum is getting so freaking confusing with people using the wrong words regarding to what something is and saying "NO YOU CAN'T DO THAT" without even knowing what they're talking about. See 2, 5. Once again yall have gotten me off topic with an angry rant.

I'm pulling us off topic with this but that statement is debate able. It reads that re-skins of NYPD patrol cars are not allowed, not additional models. What I was merly saying is that the guy did not state that he was going to re-skin. He could have been meaning making his own model ( benefit of the doubt? ). He could then release it as "LVMPD Swat ( Made for LA MOD )". Now, weather it gets Hoppah's blessing would depend. But please don't discourage people from making modifications and crush them before they even fully state their intentions or their knowledge to know how to do such. We already have a lack of skillful people who can make a real model.

Please work on your wording before you tell someone what they can and can't do. If they make the models completely on their own they can release it even if it is the LAS area and not the LAX area. How ever, if they used already made models and simply re-skinned them OR edited them in minor ways, then there might be a general issue. It's a massive pet-peeve of mien when people go off saying "No you can't do this or that" when there is not enough information to clearly state that. If they want to make their own models and release them they are more than welcome to. State your intentions clearly and don't give people the wrong impression. Many a time have I read on this forum where someone has wanted to make their own models but someone says no simply because they don't know what they're talking about. In all honesty, someone could release a website of reskins if they wanted to, your inability not to do it here is strictly a rule by the management of the site as a mean of quality control. Hoppah of course wants to maintain the integrity of his models and treats them as a copyright under basic common-law and right of author practice. If another person wants to release Vegas style vehicles for LA mod thats completely up to the masses to accept them to reject them by the way of downloads. -SirMoo-

Late couple of years we've flown down (actually up since I'm from Texas) to Nashville for an anime con... I don't remember seeing any of the emergency vehicles ever... Well... other than the actual cops in uniform. o.O Oh and paramedics when some dumb girl had an OD-Alcohol Poison session... But still... no vehicles... However on the topic of a mod... You're lack of being able to figure out things by search the forum does not lead to much hope in anything coming to fruition of these dreams. Read, experiment, break things and eventually you'll learn how to do stuff... But asking how to make a whole mod is about like asking how engage in surgery from a back alley clinic.

What would be the point/effect? Similar to the flash grenade? Have them fall to the ground and then make it easy to arrest them? Would there be the possibility of harm and having to call in an ALS? -
Wait, what? o_O You threw it at a building... It a hit a roof and bounced back to hit the police cars? How is this an issue? Unless it actually went through the roof/building and not out the door...

You're saying have button A and that spawns lets say Rescue Group 1 which might be USAR, ALS and ALS Engine? Then as those return to station they empty and you have button B and it stocks up BLS Engine, Battalion and Ladder? Custom buttons for different emergencies? Am I understand this right?

Problem is that the alarm never stops. It just keeps making the sound for ever and ever... Rather annoying really... I've removed it and gone back to the normal version... But I've also noticed an error in my log file... I don't really remember. Try the original one. There are some glitches like the inability to send the Helicopter off map... Tiller won't work, traffic jams are common, and a few other bits here and there... But in general I love the layout of the map. =D -
I think you can associate one person in the building with the shooter, but I have no clue how... I'd like to learn how to do events ( among other things of course ). There any good guides for it around here? Anyone want to toss together a basic tutorial for those of us who like to try and do things our selves? =D He DID censor it. And Hoppah started it! Lets blame him. -nods.- Don't have much of a problem with it really. o.O To me it's just an everyday word... But I do tend to wonder about the possible younger members on this forum... -shrugs.-

I have to say yes on both. Yes it's worth downloading, it's a fun map. Yes there are plenty of bugs but I find it less painful to use than Hoppahs fire-happy one. -shrugs.- All about how you like the city designed. -- whonneb, tiller does not call from off map properly. Pretty sure this is a common glitch with using it on other maps... -
I've had this issue a bit too many times and just don't use the wye any more... Is there still no way to fix it?

Haha, I remember the first time I had that... I got really confused as to what the guy was holding hostage. Still makes me wonder why the new map had such a low amount of people actually in buildings. I found walking into a bank and no-one being in it kind of dumb... -- Re: Liability clause At least for the U.S. Market I'd think it would be need to be written "We assume no liability for damages caused directly or indirectly by downloads of files from this site." However, being that this site is hosted on a German server/ip... That point might be null.

Anyway to make the map less fire happy? The way it spreads makes no sense sometime... I have no idea how the fire can hop across the street.... I could understand flying sparks but this is really ridiculous sometimes.

I really can't see it being an issue with my graphics card. I can play a major FPS made this year with no lag, yet have trouble with this game? >.> But I still think it has something to do with the map.

I know we have a couple Volunteer stations as I saw two trucks come from two different directions going to the same location and let me tell you, I think you'd be better off using a garden hose to put out the fire. We have a few of these around in smaller cities, but in the main county seat and a few of the cities semi-connected to it we have normal, well equipped stations. I can't see LA being any different... Things like this need to just be left to sub-mods and not put into the main version of the game... ---- I have a few questions that might have been addressed in other locations but the search function does not give very good results... way too many articles. Are the below things possible? 1: Return to Station requires vehicles to follow traffic laws, much like patrol. 2: Emergency vehicles can pass other emergency vehicles - This one bothers me... Is there anyway to fix this?!' 3: Events regarding "Freeway Service Patrol". I had re-skinned the brush truck to look like this, but would even regarding "Engine Trouble" or "Flat Tire" be possible where you send out a repair guy who fixes it on the spot much like a light being broken or the rail crossing?

Yeah, I think this is associated with traffic and then something drastic happening. Like an explosion or so. The maps by w00ds that I use ( Not the one with the airport ) has MAJOR issues with traffic jams that I've been trying to work out... But I've noticed that the crashes are more frequent if not related to the amount of traffic plus something else happening. Now I recently had the plane crash incident and the game crashed and I don't think this was a traffic jam related accident. I've timed the game twice to see if there was any constancy with how long the game was played vs crash time and it gave me two times 20 minutes apart which I'm guessing does not point to much. So really it just has to be a ram issue? I have more ram in my system than 32bit can support. I'm at about 4 and half gigs including the memory card ram, but of course it only recognizes 3 something removing part of the stick... -sigh.- I think I might test it out with Hoppah's map and see if I'm getting this, but I did not notice anything in the past...

I'm pretty sure it's not graphics card problem, I don't have an amazing one but it's pretty good. I've run a lot of online games with Semi-Jacked up settings and it functions fine and dandy. I saw the same thing about the listener and I can only think it's an issue with the map by w00ds that I use. It seems to trigger randomly so it's not like I can test it and have it repeat it self. Normally happens when selecting a vehicle or sending it somewhere but this of course could simply be a coincidence.

I've been having crash to desktop just about every game now and not really sure why. I'm using LA Mod 1.9.3 and using one of w00ds maps. Any help would be nice. :/ There is not really much to say it just randomly crashes when I go to do something. I've yet to find a pattern... logfile.txt

Alright, so I need some advice on how to fix this with the alarm script. But how do I get the alarm to either a) stop when I go to TcmdAuto or b) stop after it's generic file time or the same length in time as is with the basic alarm on the firehouse? Edit: If this is the wrong script for what this topic is made for, I'm sorry... I think there are two and forgot which was which. >_<
