  1. I've been tweaking my game, and I decided to just add a couple of additional units to the map. I have them at the stations, but I was wondering if someone could kindly explain how to alter the returntostation scripts to fit the returns? I have all of the virtual set-ups ready. I have added an EMS Captain's car outside of Fire Station 2, and I'm getting it to return to the station fairly well with the Firestation scripts, however, the ReturntoPoliceStation script is a bit more difficult... I was wondering if someone could explain how to alter the scripts to return to the stations (especially the PD script). I have added a Bomb Squad SUV, LAPD SWAT Rescue Truck 1, and FBI SUV at the PD's parking lot; EMS Captain's car outside fire station 2; and a BLS Ambulance, Ambulance 4 (the non-"box" ambulance) and a MCU outside the hospital. Note: I altered the game so that the BLS ambulance does not spawn or return to Fire Station 2 anymore (I have a HES instead).
  2. Would it make it incompatible the rest of the time now? I tried to start new games, with no changes after I saved, then I tried to load that same game file, but still it crashed to the desktop.
  3. How would I delete them? I know you have to go into the files to delete them, but all I see under the "Save" folder is a "Campaignprogress" file. I can't seem to find the saved game files anywhere... I don't think its a graphics driver problem... Everything else is fine. It's just the saved games that I try to load...
  4. Nope. That's what is weird... I changed the map before, and then saved the game... But the thing is, I think I have 2 older saved files that I do not play anymore (but i didn't load those ones). Would that affect it?...
  5. I was wondering if someone could help me out... Everytime I try to load a saved game file for the LA Mod 2.0, it always crashes back to the desktop... I have some minor changes to the map, would that make a difference? But please note, the game and mod are fine to play, EXCEPT for the fact that only previously saved game files do not load... The loading bar fills up, then the game crashes to the desktop. Edit: I'm having trouble finding the logfile... I went to the C Drive --> Program Files --> WizardWorks --> 911: First Responders but i can't find the logfile.txt file. The only txt file is the "readme" file. I've also tried the search function in the start menu, but nothing comes up when I type logfile.txt DxDiag.txt
  6. There's a purpose for anything... Just depends on who you ask... Besides, I'm not suggesting it as an addition... I just wanted to know if it's possible to modify the scripts in order to make this work. I want to use it for MY game play... I like to have command vehicles on the scene of major fires. It's all just personal preference. But yes... again.. is this even possible to have a truck spawn FFs/PMs/EMTs and also have it function as a rehab unit (refill health of FFs)?
  7. I had an idea that I wanted for the game, but just never got around to trying to start it... Basically, I just want to know first if it is even possible... Here is my idea: LAFD Command Truck Basically, I want a truck similar to the FBI Command Truck, but for the LAFD. I also want it to be able to spawn FFs or FF/PMs, from the truck (similar to the FBI agents from the truck). Also, I wanted it to function as a rehab unit, so any personal who enter the vehicle can get healed... That's basically what I wanted... I have other specifics, but I just wanted to know if this idea is even possible... Also, I tried to search for this on the forum a while back, but couldn't find a specific command truck thread, but if there is one, will someone please post a link to it? Thanks.
  8. Yeah, it would be a bit unrealistic, but then again, at major forest fires there is almost certainly more than one Water Bomber working. Another thing is that in the game, i use them for areas that cannot be reached... I had a small fire on the far right side of the map (near the houses). The fire was out of range of my camera view, so I couldn't fight it with the trucks or FFs... It eventually spread (quite quickly) to several houses... The water bomber was really helpful, but it was a pain to wait for it again and again... All my trucks and FFs could do was hold defensive positions... but the fire kept on growing... It was quite a cruel cycle...
  9. It was right under the thread called "Traffic Traffic Traffic" Basically, look under the Specs folder and edit the parameters file. Look for something that says <vehicletraffic factor="1.5"/> and change the 1.5 to a lower number
  10. Yeah. I noticed this as well, but this was a bit different for me. When I had both handlers and both canines out. Only one canine was responding to BOTH of the officers commands... The other canine just stood there... The commands to the other canine were obeyed when I put the other back into the vehicle.
  11. You can also set the 3 camera "hot-keys" as well.. I set my first one for LAFD station 1, the second for LAFD Station 2, and the third for the LAPD station. You can just quickly click those to get to your stations. (or just click the map)
  12. Another possible "solution" you can try to use is to block off the traffic coming into the city from the main arterial roads/avenues.. Just get some units to lay down a spike strip, pylons, flares, or barricades... Just lay any of these down across the INCOMING lanes of traffic... That should stop the flow of traffic coming into the city. I haven't personally taken this drastic measure... but I know that I have had some problems doing it on one road back in 1.9 I stopped all incoming traffic because of a MVA, but by blocking those lanes of traffic, the traffic lights seemed to stop working... THey didn't change at all... But once I let traffic through the blocked lanes, the lights were fully functional again. Maybe someone could have a try?
  13. Did you stop traffic or re-direct traffic anywhere? I know back in 1.9 I was stopping traffic coming in from the tunnel on the East Side of the map. Blocking that single lane of traffic stopped the traffic lights from working... I have no idea why... But once I let the traffic from the tunnel enter the map, the lights were fully functional again... Hmm... I've noticed this happening as well. Mainly on the main arterial roads/ avenues. Are you sure some of these vehicles haven't been re-directed before? I know that if I re-direct a vehicle once, It will not respond to any re-direct commands (from an officer or vehicle arrow bar). I believe the re-direct can only work once. Did you let the officer go to the left side of the vehicle and take the canine unit out of the car? If you immediately tell the officer to move right after he gets out of his car, he will not go and get his canine, which might be the cause of your problem.
  14. I'm not sure if anybody else noticed, but the Boat launch site (East) does not work. I tried launching a LAFD Motorboat, but it did not work. Also, this isn't really a bug, but the other boat launch, isn't very accessible. You have to "baby" the truck into the spot. But yes, I know, you can change it in the editor. Mainly, it's the other boat launch. Anybody else have this problem? One more thing, the Back bay doors of LAFD station 2. People and trucks can go straight through them.
  15. This works for me... The thing is, just have an open window (ex. MSN) before starting the game. After, all you need to do is alt + tab. HOWEVER, once you alt + tab, into your other window, the font/ size will be distorted.

  17. I don't think so. Hoppah just recently found a way to make it possible, so he put it in 1.9. I think he is working on the new freeplay map, but i'm unsure (please correct me if i'm wrong). I doubt he'll add anything to 1.8 anymore. Best to get 1.9 if you want the tiller.
  18. Yes it actually can happen... There may be a higher chance of the suspect not surrendering, but it can still happen. A while back, near my area, an armed suspect shot somebody and barricaded himself in a house. Once the ERT (Emergency Response Team/ SWAT) came in, he gave up without incident. Mainly it depends on the person and the circumstances.
  19. If you are talking about the Heavy Equipment Squad (LA County Fire) then it is referred to as HES You should do what I do. Go into your 911: First Responder/ Emergency 4 files, and then just go to MODS --> LA MOD --> PROTOTYPES --> VEHICLES --> 02 LA FIRE DEPARTMENT from there you can check the names. and to check the VO names, just use the editor.
  20. What counts as a "bad criminal?" lol. I can only make the petty criminals kneel (sometimes they don't even kneel), like the shoplifters and people getting into fights. I doubt a shoplifter deserves to be shot by multiple officers
  21. lmao. I just wanted to make sure you knew because you did say "What do I need to do if I want... Ladder just like it is.... ambulances just like they are" If you included it, I thought you didn't know? lol.

If you want to add more people on the engines, just copy and paste the last personelle code, and put in the number 3 if you want FF/EMTs and 1 if you want FF/PMs If you want to add divers, i'm not sure if there is a code/number, but you can try experimenting. Just make sure you have back-up files. And in if you want the vehicle staffing to remain the same, don't change a thing.
  23. Yeah, I do make copies such as for the spec and map, etc. However, I forgot to make original copies for the LAFireStation, LAFireStationStart and LAtoFireStation scripts. I'll make sure I have my originals copied. Thanks for the help NFK. EDIT: And again... the problem has come up... The ALS engine DOES return to base a couple of times, but after 5 minutes, the same problem occurs again... It says there isn't any room in the fire station, so the vehicle is returning to base... Anybody have a clue what's going on? I've attached a cpy of my LAtoFireStation script. (new one) Agentchung_LAtoFireStation_Script.txt
