Did some one make a white unmarked?
Voodoo_Operator replied to nycguy555666's topic in Los Angeles Mod
http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.php?showtopic=8024 The additional units submod will have a white ATF unmarked CV. -
Basically, it sucked. It's a van I made based on Hoppah's ambulance, before Mikey made a similar van from scratch (which is the one being currently used as the LASD prisoner transport). It didn't really have any interesting features, and it had many flaws. So it's gone. That depends on Hoppah (Not trying to put pressure on him or anything... heheh). I've already talked to him about it. The thing is, a medic would be fairly easy to do (I think they have the same uniforms as any other soldier, save for a few details that probably can't be seen in game, anyway), so it would just be an usual soldier with medic functions. The stretcher team would be a lot harder, however, because they would need helmets like the regular soldiers, and that would need a lot of work, so it's up to Hoppah to decide if he has that much time to spend on a submod (he's already doing a lot by making some Fed Mod units playable in-game, most of them were far from ready!)

You'll have to learn if you want to be able to download it when it does come out. The more I look at the latest replies to this topic, the more they look like disguised attempts to ask for a release date. Watch out or some of you may end up in the Warn Barn.

I stab puppysboy222 for making this topic, and I'm using an friggin' huge rusty axe just to make sure he doesn't live to make another topic like this one. Just to make sure, I'll also pour concrete in his grave. He bit Hoppah and that's usually what zombies do. I friggin' hate zombies.

Next time you write a topic about correct spelling, make sure you actually use correct spelling. It's "through", not "trough". Oh and I know it's late, but I think you deserve a warning for using foul language, especially since it had no purpose whatsoever.

If you've got the free version of SketchUp, sadly, you wasted your time, since it can't export in other formats than Google proprietary formats. If you've paid for the Pro version of SketchUp, you have to export in 3DS format, and then import it in Zmod. Might as well tell you now, this is an excruciating process. A lot of useless polies need to be removed, model issues often arise, and Zmod's behavior becomes unpredictable.

Yeah, I'm still alive and well. I admit the Fed mod is going a little slow these days. I'm trying to think about what I'm going to do with it, considering it is really hard to find proper documentation about the units, and it would have to be an innovative mission-based mod even if I never scripted a single mission. In the mean time, it got me wondering why I didn't just do a Montreal mod, which would have been of a more conventional nature (police cars, ambulances and fire trucks) and would have been easy for me to do since I happen to live there. Guess I should post the few new completed vehicles I have, that would give me a few more months slack to produce another update.

I'll stick to Hoppah's reply. BTW, @Hoppah, haven't talked to you in a while?

He did mention to me that he was having computer problems before he disappeared. I suspect this might be a reason - his computer has suffered an unrecoverable crash and is still being serviced, or he's waiting for a new one or something. His line of work was also quite mysterious. While I never knew what he exactly did for a living, it seemed to me like it was the kind of job which could suddenly make him completely unavailable for an extended period of time. Let's not be so dreadful for now until we actually have information about what happened. It attracts bad karma.

Cheers to 2 years of hard work and your latest breakthroughs, dude.

Um... reinstall the game?

[EM4] Central suggestions/ideas topic (CLOSED)
Voodoo_Operator replied to Hoppah's topic in Los Angeles Mod

Top 3 best ways to annoy everyone: 1- Typing in CAPS so that it looks like you're SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS. 2- Making two consecutive posts when you could have just used the edit button. 3- Asking for help without using any basic politeness formula such as "Please" or "Thank you".

Looks like someone here has had a little too much drinks. @Hoppah : Before this turns into a fight, it appears the sig is an experiment. There's some hidden text underneath.

Guess it's time to make a few things clear for all the kids out there who keep complaining about Hoppah's mod or any other mod. I'm no moderator so I guess these aren't official rules, but as a modder, I think it's time people start following this advice. :1046275947_director: 1- If you're not happy about something in a mod, and have no constructive comment to add whatsoever, please kindly shut the hell up. This isn't your mod, this is the modder's work, so he's free to do whatever he wants with it. Alternatively, here are a few things you can do if you don't like the content of a mod : a-Don't download it. b-Learn to mod and make your own mod. c-At least learn a few basics (it really isn't that complicated) and keep the older versions of the mod. Then, when the new version comes out, you can always roll back to older models if you don't like the new ones. 2- Before making a suggestion, browse the thread to see if that suggestion has already been made. There's a search button, so you have no excuse. If that suggestion has already been made by someone else, and especially if it has already been dismissed by the modder (I'm thinking about the second fire station or the ladder trailer, for example) , please don't make it again. If you really want to implement your idea in the game, refer to 1b. 3- Know what the mod is about. If it's the Los Angeles mod, don't request a unit from Anywhere, USA. 4- Respect the modders. That means not harassing them about release dates, not insulting their work, and spelling their names correctly. I can understand that some people here don't speak English quite well, but there's no excuse for misspelling a proper noun. I hope from now on everyone will abide to these simple rules. I hate it when hard-working, talented people have to threaten to leave because a few kids act like spoiled ungrateful brats.

There's a reason why it's called the Los Angeles mod.

Speaking of working Humvee machine guns, I know you told me a while ago that they couldn't be done. Now that new animations are possible, is it something that could work? For the Federal mod, I was thinking about making a Humvee with a mounted .50 cal which could use the aimed shot function. By the way, SWEET helicopters! They definitely look better with a bigger size and a longer tail. One thing about the Blackhawk though, you might want to use a considerably darker shade of olive drab, like on this picture.

Outstanding! Great job, Hoppah!

Maybe it's meant to look like a civilian car? You might notice it has regular California plates instead of the "exempt" plates used by emergency vehicles.
-
The LAPD unmarked car in the LA mod has flashing blue lights in the grille. However, as far as I know, this would be inacurrate. Such a car would probably have the steady red front light / blue-amber flashing rear lights setup. It probably wouldn't have a pushbar either. Thing is, that car has been around since the EM3 LA mod, and that mod was using the actual photos as unit pictures. That particular unmarked car seemed to be used by the Massachussets State Police. In the photo, there was a fully marked MASP cruiser right beside it.

I think the game he's referring to is Firefighter Command. It's more or less similar to the Emergency series, except that it's focused exclusively on fire fighting. It's set in a city loosely based on San Francisco, but strangely you can switch American units to French, British or German fire units. The game has different firefighter types, including one who carries a portable water canon. I'll reinstall the game and get screenshots. UPDATE : Here's a screenshot showing the portable canon in action. You might notice that this game doesn't have hoses, unlike EM4. Firefighters come with a water reserve, which they have to reload at fire trucks. In turn, all fire trucks are equipped with a water canon and a water supply. They need a "virtual" connection to a fire hydrant in order to replenish their reserves. The fire canon also needs a virtual connection to a truck in order to work.

I wouldn't mind sharing some of the federal units with the LA mod, but fusing both mods wouldn't be a good idea IMO. Hoppah's LA mod would get overloaded with units that wouldn't necessarily be useful (like the ATF and the Border Patrol), and I wouldn't be able to eventually make coast-to-coast missions like I'm intending to (as I said before, the Federal mod missions will cover the entire United States. I'm already thinking about a few mission scenarios in Detroit, New York City and Texas). However, if Hoppah agrees, I could send him a few federal units for the LA mod. I'm thinking the FBI would be a nice addition, and when i get to making the mobile command post, I could easily reskin it as the FBI Los Angeles Field Office truck.
