Whatever your beliefs are, and whatever you think of other people's beliefs, this is clearly a very provocative act that has the sole purpose of fueling hate on both sides. You can be sure that the next time an American tourist gets kidnapped and beheaded somewhere, or that a successful terrorist attack happens on US soil, this guy's name will be in the "Thank you" notes when a terrorist organization claims responsibility.

Upon reviewing this matter, we strongly believe that Soulbody should seriously consider contacting Atari's legal department (and not Ralph Stock or anyone else) before spending any time working on this project. The name "911 First Responders" is clearly copyrighted, which could pose obvious problems, but the game's concept and look & feel may also be copyrighted/patented to some extent. There have been examples in the past of games, free or not (and even mods) that have caused legal complications to their creators due to infringing on other trademarks. While prison and fines are very unlikely, as they're the final consequences of a criminal prosecution, civil legal troubles, starting with a cease-and-desist letter and possibly evolving into a civil trial, are more than likely. With that in mind, this topic is reopened for now. However, if Stan and/or EMP's host were to receive a cease-and-desist letter from Atari's lawyers or any other legal entity regarding this matter, be aware that we will fully comply and that this topic will be removed without further notice, and no such topic will ever be allowed in the future. Moreover, in a sign of good faith, the author assured me that the PL mod models would be completely removed from the mod. Rest assured that I made myself very clear to the author about this site's rules, and that I am keeping watch for any future transgressions. But yes, I am considering this to be an unfortunate misunderstanding, not a deliberate act of theft. This is my call, and I stand for it. This is NOBODY ELSE'S business. Period. I have discussed this matter with anubis03, and he has explained to me that there was a mixup, and that these models were not meant to be publically displayed until later, since they were part of a beta version of the mod. He has assured me that he had planned to ask for permissions, and that he had no intention to release them without proper credit or permissions. I have also advised him to clearly indicate the authors of his models in the future, and to indicate if permissions are pending, to avoid any confusion. I'm considering this matter closed. Moving on.

If you did obtain your software legally and encounter problems with your software, your best and only option is to contact the company's technical support service. It is also possible that you were sold a pirated version of the software. Seeing as you bought it in Russia and mentionned there is a "keygen" option in the installation process, it is very likely. The price tag for 3DS Max is 3500 USD, I'm assuming you didn't pay that price. In this case, sorry, but you have been scammed, and nobody can help you. The Edit button is there for a reason (and hey, with that small of a delay between each of your posts, you could have waited to get all your ideas together before posting). Warned. As for what you said about tools, well nothing in life is free. However, Zmodeler2, with a price tag of about 50$, is far less costly than SketchUp. And while it has a steeper learning curve (which isn't a bad thing, considering it allows you to learn 3D modeling yourself instead of making mods based on other people's stuff), it is much more useful when the time comes to import models in the game. In fact, even if you do have SketchUp, you still need Zmod to export stuff and make it work properly in-game. It's like that. No other solution available. Especially not free ones. So please, understand this. We know what we're talking about, we've seen a lot of that before, and the way you're describing your submod right now (No skills, no tools, no models of your own), it does not look like it will ever be released. Sorry.

Being a kind soul, I highlighted the flaws in your topic. They're not missing. They're just not there, for they are not necessary to make the mod enjoyable. In fact, they'd just bog it down, resulting in endless lists of vehicles that don't serve any particular purpose. If you do not have the correct tools to begin with, you fail horribly at modding. You may also want to search the forums to find out why SketchUp (and not scetch up) models are anything but a good idea. Oh sweet. Repo emergencies. Just what this game needed. In light of recent events, I would like to clarify our policy concerning the use of models made by other people. This includes models that can be found on the Google 3D Warehouse (also known as SketchUp models) *** Google 3D Warehouse policy updated. See here.***. 1- We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy regarding model theft. Model theft is when you take a model made by someone else and, with or without modifying it, claim it as being entirely your own work. Model theft is also offering for download a model made by someone else without asking permission to the original author first (see point 2). Members who are found guilty of model theft will face the appropriate consequences, including a warning, closure of their mod, or even a ban. 2- Whenever you use someone else's models, you need a) to give credit to the original author and b)permission from the original author. You are not authorized to make a file available for download if it contains models for which you have not obtained a permission. Doing so will be considered theft, and you face the possibility that the original author will never grant you any permissions in the future. While giving credit to the original author is ALWAYS REQUIRED, there are a few occasions when obtaining permission is not necessary. Here are the ONLY cases in which you do not require permission: 1- You do not intend to make the models available for download (i.e. "Personal submod"). If however you decide to offer the models at some point in the future, you MUST get permission first. 2- The original model maker indicates in a readme file that his model is free to be used without permission. However, I must stress that this needs to be CLEARLY SPECIFIED in the readme, and that one file being made available does NOT mean that all of that author's files may be used without permission. When in doubt, ask for permission anyway. Please note that when you contact an author for permission and do not obtain a reply, you should consider that you have NOT obtained permission. We will also not tolerate negative comments on authors who have denied or not answered to a permission request. Should you decide to release the models anyway, our zero tolerance policy against theft will be applied. Also, pay close attention to the Readme file when using material which is part of a mod. While the mod itself may have been released by a single author, the material contained within may be the work of several authors. You need to give credit and get permissions from the author of the particular material you are using, and not only the author of the mod. Thank you for your cooperation.
