My guess would be that these are not available in any way to the general public.

"Angry New Yorker" should be a standard setting on every siren, right between wail and yelp.

I just did an extensive cleanup of the last replies to this topic, and handed a bag full of warnings. A revigorating experience indeed. Just a few friendly reminders: Asking for release dates in any way, no matter how subtle it is, will get you an instant warning. We don't much care for pathetic whining. If you don't like something, here's a simple method that has always worked for me: Shut the funk up. Get the funk out. [*]Don't feed trolls. That's just as bad as trolling yourself. If you find the content of a post to be against board rules (or otherwise offensive/pointless/idiotic), use the Report Post button and let us moderators do our jobs.

By the way, if you want to try it yourself: Tchaikowsky's 1812 overture: (Set it at 3:04)And set the PSA at 2:15. The segment with all the crashes doesn't cover the whole finale, unfortunately, but if you time it right, some of the canon shot are perfectly timed with some highlights of the video such as the car splashing into the water, or the explosion. By the way, before you start calling me a sick, disturbed puppy: There's nothing in that video but actors, car stunts, corn syrup and special effects.

I've seen so many PSAs like this that I've basically lost any sensitivity to them. Not that I drink and drive - but common sense and/or higher police presence/fines/legal consequences should be more of an incentive to safe and sober driving than making all those high-budget PSAs (paid with your taxes, mind you) and featuring blood, people crying, car crashes, etc... They're so dramatic that they end up being just too much, and then I just laugh my ass off. Want to have some fun with that PSA? 1- Mute the sound from the video. 2- Find a copy of the 1812 overture by Tchaikowsky, skip to the finale (last minute or so) and pause it. 3- Start the video and the 1812 finale at the same time. Enjoy. It only works with the part with all the crashes though, but I think if you time it right, the finale should cover it just fine.

Emergency 2012 EM2012 is NOT moddable
Voodoo_Operator replied to Voodoo_Operator's topic in General Talk
FYI, Valusoft is a North American budget game publisher, and a subdidiary of THQ (as far as I know). They're not a software development company. So the Valusoft version ought to be the same as the Deep Silver version, it's just a different publisher. You can always send them a message asking about the editor, but I highly doubt it will be there (or that you will get an helpful answer - let alone any answer at all). A wise move would be to remove that line, since it basically amounts to false advertising... But truth be told, the bargain bin game market is systematically synonymous of poor gameplay, bugs, compatibility issues, missing features and whatnot, and publishers couldn't care less. -

Every few days or so, a topic spawns asking if EM2012 is or will be moddable. The official answer to both of these questions is NO. Please, it's time to move on now. From the EM2012 official web site: TL;DR translation: We know people wanted this game to be moddable. But we didn't do it. And we won't. So please, stop asking if this game is or will be moddable in any official way. It's not and it will not be until further notice. It is not impossible that eventually, one or more community members will work on homemade tools of their own, but I am currently unaware of such efforts, and you have to assume that until someone makes an announcement to that effect, there are no efforts currently dedicated to making EM2012 moddable. With that in mind, please make an informed decision when purchasing this game. If you enjoyed the vanilla EM4/911:FR experience, even with its limitations and without gameplay-enhancing mods such as the LA mod or Winterberg, then this game is suitable for you. Otherwise, move along instead of making outrageous claims that you have been "cheated out of your money". Part of making a purchase is being informed, by getting all the necessary information and reading reviews before buying something, instead of relying on hype and rumors.

Messed-up colors or something?

It appears your textures are corrupted. Opening a command prompt and typing "Format C:" should do the trick. -
MW 4 is out already? Whatever happened to MW 3?

Despite our rules against proper permissions and crediting for models, we have recently had a lot of trouble with modmakers using models from the Google 3D Warehouse and taking the credit for them. In turn, some users start acting as vigilantes, others claim they are the actual owners of the models, and conflict ensues. Therefore, starting today, MODELS FROM THE GOOGLE 3D WAREHOUSE ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED. The Big Picture: -Starting now, any new mod topic or post that contains a model from the 3D Warehouse will result in the immediate suspension of the topic for two days. If the user does not contact a moderator within those two days with a verifiable claim that he's the author of the model (See "The Fine Print" below), the topic will be closed and a warning will be issued to the user. Any further posting of a 3DWH model by that user will result in a ban. -Mod topics that currently hold models from the 3D Warehouse will have ten (10) days, starting now, to remove all references to these models. After this deadline, topics still containing such models will be closed. However, no warnings will be issued. The Fine Print: While we strongly discourage the use of SketchUp to make models for Emergency, that tool can still be used, provided that you can build your own models. We are only restricting the use of models from other people, whose work gets misappropriated. We are aware that there are a few modders out there who are advanced users of SketchUp and who might have posted their work on the 3D Warehouse already. To enforce this new rule, we will have to proceed with the following method in order to ensure that these models are indeed your own work: 1- If only a single copy of the model exists on the 3DWH, we will send a message to the model owner's account (which should be you), asking to confirm your identity on EMP. If no reply is received within 5 days, you are considered to have denied ownership of the model. Your topic will therefore be closed and you will be issued a warning. Additionally, if we receive a reply from the model owner claiming that he doesn't know you, you will be banned. 2- If many copies of the model exist, we will verify the date on which the models were posted, and proceed to Step 1 for the earliest model. This means that we will not accept the modification of an existing 3DWH model, even if you post it there under your own name. 3- There will be no exceptions to the two rules posted above, so make sure to avoid sketchy situations. As for Vigilantes... Moderators have the following icon under their name: If you do not have that icon under your name, then you're not a moderator. This means that you do not have to and shall not under any circumstances do a moderator's job (Consider yourself lucky, it's a real chore). In other words, if you notice model theft (or any other infraction to the TOS), the only thing you can (and should) do is use the "Report Post" button and provide as much information as possible so that we can deal with the culprit. Any other attempt to rectify the situation yourself will result in a warning, and repeated attempts to play moderator will be met with a ban. We're sorry for the inconvenience this may cause some of you. However, we believe in mods created through real skills and hard work, not theft of someone else's efforts.

There's actually a mod for C&C Generals called Cold War Crisis, which has a range of units very similar to WiC (minus the Euro-NATO side), but with C&C gameplay. The only problem is that the AI either plays very roughly or not at all - quite a challenge to win a skirmish game with that mod in any other mode than the easiest.
-
I thought it was a spectacular game with a compelling story and a good challenge, but I was slightly disappointed by the skirmish mode, which makes or breaks a RTS for me. I guess I got used to the "classic" RTS approach of building huge bases, gathering a crapload of ressources and then pounding on the enemy with all I've got. The WiC approach, where you couldn't build bases and, in skirmish, had to select a particular competency within your faction, didn't do it for me.
