While I do agree with many of the points you bring up, it seems to me like this is going to turn into a flame war soon enough. Topic closed. And rest assured that the real nuisances will always be dealt with as soon as we're made aware of them, don't worry. I could give you a long list of people who came here calling everyone names and challenging the moderators to throw fisticuffs. Next time they tried to access the site from any computer in their house or at school (couldn't say "work" with kids like that), they were treated to a nice little page kindly telling them to take a hike.

My PC gaming days, and then my modding days, began with NFS High Stakes. Fun times for countless hours. Sadly it went downhill afterwards - even more so when they decided to push one out every year... NFS has changed so much since its early days. The downwards spiral began with Porsche Unleashed, of which the focus on a single brand was seen as a weird move (not a bad game, though), and from there it just got worse... Hot Pursuit 2 screwed up everything that HS did right. Underground 1/2 weren't bad, but should have been a different franchise, not a NFS game. Most Wanted/Carbon/Undercover/World Online were pure garbage. Pro Street was a lousy attempt at a racing-oriented spinoff - I believe they were able to pull off something much better with the Shift series, although it's trying to play in Forza and Gran Turismo's turf while it will never even get close to any of these two hallmark franchises. I gotta say that the Hot Pursuit reboot by Criterion was excellent, even though it favored a much more "arcade" style of play. And then there was that weird experiment that was "The Run" - I just don't know what they were thinking with that one but I could see it fail from a mile away.

Well, so far, I'd say China holds the world record for lowest number of sh*ts given, for doing the exact same thing but with a 2 year old infant instead of a cop. Not that I'd encourage anyone to beat this record, though.

I started a Montreal mod once, but got bored with the game along the way and then that task became a bit too overwhelming for my taste. I submitted some of its units every now and then for the skinning contest. I'm not sure if I should post them anywhere else though... that'd just be a cruel form of teasing, as I have no intention of continuing my work on the mod, and many of the models I used were obtained through exclusive permissions that can't possibly be transferre Maybe we can work something out... Details coming soon. So far, I had a pumper, a semi-complete ladder, an ambulance, the front end of a rescue truck, a complete (but apparently obsolete by a few years) rescue truck, two city police cruisers, two provincial police cruisers, and a barely repainted medic supervisor car.
