I bought my last complete pc in March 2008. In the meantime I bought a new videocard and a new dvd rewriter. The old ones broke down. In total it costed about € 1000 because of the extra video card and dvd rewriter. Broken parts + depreciation + old hardware makes the current value probably no more than € 500.

pyrothijs is right. Delete your current version of the LA Mod, then download the LA MOd (v1.8.1) again and install it. Should solve all problems. While my graphic card was broken for almost 4 weeks I started on a new layout for the manual and I just finished it. Download: Los Angeles Mod v1.9 manual (right click -> Save As) Format: .pdf Size: 1,4 mb This is the manual for v1.9 so it does contain irrelevant information for earlier versions of the mod, like information about the new freeplaymap and installation instructions. You know how trailers act in real life? Size, weight, wheelbase, all matters. That does not exist for the trailers in this game. It's very limited, the trailer only moves on it's pivot which is positioned on the towing hook of the cab. So a longer trailer swings more. That's one of the many reasons trailers do not work nicely in this game. I've been posting that on the forums for ages, asking 'why is this/why is that' is useless. @ GerardTIII: I don't know why your vehicle images are white, this is not a help topic. Hoppah

The file in .zip file in the attachment can only be opened with Inno Setup. I added two extra codes to the file: 1. The installer should automatically find the correct game folder. 2. The installer also checks if a folder called 'Los Angeles Mod v1.8' exists in the Mods folder. An warning message will appear when that folder is not found. Other notes: 1. The green lines in the script are deactivated. You can activated them by removing the ; in front of the line. This way you can add a license and/or information page, but also icons and a big/small image file. Just make sure these files it asks for are in the SourceDir folder. 2. To add additional files to the installer you need to add or alter the lines below the [Lines] section. The example line adds 1 file (file1.txt) to the installer. You can copy/paste that line to add additional files. I also added a line which adds a whole folder instead of a single file as a source. That line is deactivated though. 3. Make sure you make the appropiate changes, like the AppName, Source and DestDir codes. 4. TEST the installer a couple of times, to make sure ALL files are installed in the correct directories of the LA Mod. 5. More questions? Try to look in the Documentation files first. If you'd model the pole and a fire fighter, you can animate the fire fighter going down on the pole. Just like how I made the rappel command for the Blackhawk. Only problem -I think MikesPhotos mentioned it once- they don't use/have these poles in LA. I don't know if they use them in NYC alot, but you might want to ask the guys from the NY mod to make it. The Ford Crown Victoria is not mine, only the lightbar and the texture is. You got permission for that. More imporant is the permission from nfspdf and/or lash00t0ut's. I got the model from them a long time ago. If you had read the last page of the manual for the LA Mod for EM4 you would have known.

Nope, you need at least a Quad Core 4 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, GTX 295 in Quad SLI and 5 TB of free disc space to make it run on 640 x 480. AT LEAST. I mean... Anything older will just blow up your computer as soon you try to load the game and you will likely get killed in the blast. Can't help it.

If a suspect brings other people like police officers in immediate danger with a firearm, you need to do whatever it takes to stop him. That doesn't mean you can empty a whole magazine on him (excessive force). But I can't imagine the rules say you HAVE TO fire only 1 round (to not lose your job) if someone pulls a gun on a police officer, even in the UK. I don't know the real rules though. Most police officers carry guns in the Netherlands and I know there are strict regulations here. Even about pulling a sidearm. When a suspect is not complying officers can't just pull a gun here. But like I said before, I don't know the official rules (yet).

Sorry, no. It's not my fault the installation instructions of that submod are vague. You might want to find a way to release that submod with better instructions or use a program like Inno Setup to make an .exe installer which makes installation easier as well. In that case I can provide you with a script, so it automatically finds the correct EM4 directory AND the mod directory.

Topics merged, No Need For so many topics about the same thing: A slow game. I guess your computer is too old for the game or the mod. But I can't see that from here.

Hmm, kinda weird. The code looks fine. All these shortcut problems only seem to happen with 911FR. I have EM4 Deluxe myself and never had problems with shortcuts. I will see if I can find some more information about it.
