I said the map won't contain gameplay changes, like a new station or extended parking lots.

Hereby I present another small new feature in v1.9 A chase command for police vehicles! How does it work? A patrol car with officers can chase any moving vehicle or person and stop it. Different things can happen depending on the type of target. When the target is a civilian vehicle, the patrol car will halt the car and a police officer will give the driver a speeding ticket. When the car is a getaway car or a stolen vehicle, the officers will stop the car and force the driver(s) to get out. Different things can happen though, sometimes the drivers get out and decide to resist, sometimes they will surrender (like the armed arrest command). I've made a video. You don't really see the patrol cars chasing a car or person, but they will try to get to the target until they are close enough to stop it. Thanks to Stan for uploading the video. Hoppah

You had to knock their lights out, first the redneck then the manager. Nobody cares.

My left shoulder got (partly) dislocated yesterday. Not sure how bad it is yet and if it really got dislocated, but typing hurts like hell. So I won't be working on the mod for a couple of days.

Sssssssssssssssssh. Maybe he didn't know.

As long people are asking stupid things I am going to fill this topic with bullshit. Some people here never get satisfied. I posted a possible indication of a release and once again: It's not good enough. People want an exact date. It just doesn't matter when v1.9 is released two weeks earlier or later. Maybe I should postpone the release of v1.9 by a couple of months or worse, a year. I think I did a pretty good job by finishing a whole new freeplay map in less than 9 months. Or maybe I should stop too, like Stan. And when I stop, this forum is doomed to fail, because I am the only one on this forum who actually works on, finishes AND releases a mod. I won't have enough time to work on the mod after v1.9 anyway, because I am going to begin a new study on a higher level.

Special offer for Americans: For $1500, I will reskin all the Winterberg Mod units and send the mod on a CD to the USA. You also have to pay the shipment costs though, which will be around $30.000. For that amount of money I can hire a dinghy and some rowers to get accross the Atlantic Ocean. It should take about 3 months, so you'll have the mod by the end of November. Make sure you hire a boat too. The dinghy can't get close to the US coast because I also want to send some other 'special goods'. You will meet the dinghy 10 miles of the coast of Balt Head Island, NC. Make sure you flash your boat light signal a couple of times when you try to approach the dingy. Beware, my rowers are armed with knifes and will sink their dinghy when you try something. After the rowers examined you and your boat for weapons, exchange of goods will take place. Hoppah Note:

I made a mistake, it should've said September / October 2010. Thanks for letting me know. But tell you what, if you donate me $1.000 I try to release it by December 2009, so you can give the mod to your nephew as a present for Christmas. Even better, for an additional $50 I'll buy you the 24 Soundtrack CD and add it to the mod, so you have the music back again. I'm not sure what the mod will look like in 4 months, but I think the missions are still playable. I can't include the new freeplaymap anymore because my 6-year-old brother smashed my external drive with all the data after I stole candy from his bedroom. None the less, you will still get v1.9 very early. Sound like a good deal doesn't it? Hoppah

It's not that, you just make weird conclusions. The only bug the patrol function has is it the patrolling vehicles ignore the traffic lights, but that is not the reason I don't like it.
-
Jeez... So when I don't like something it must be full of bugs? You have a weird style of argumentation man. I don't like most of the Ford Crown Victorias in my mod either, because they're useless. But to meet the wishes of the community I won't delete them. Does that sound right to you?
-
Yeah, look at the first post of this topic. There is a release date.
-
In the beginning I send a second battalion chief unit to the other side of the map, then I send an additional ambulance, engine 1 and engine 2 to the bigger fire station. Then I park 3 patrol cars in front of the PD station and sometimes I put some of them on standby somewhere else. I don't like the patrol function, so I don't use it. But usually I play until I find something to fix.
-
Yes, it replaces the normal arrest as soon an officer draws his gun. Same icons, same command name.
-
For the people with lag: I Did some tests with the siren script and I was right, the hidden dummyobject NEVER got deleted. So, when playing for longer times it MIGHT cause some lag because 100's (if not 1000's) of these hidden objects spawned. I have fixed that and here's the new script. See attachment. How to install: 1. Unzip the package 2. Move LASiren.script to your '...\Mods\Los Angeles Mod v1.8\Scripts\Game\Command\' folder and overwrite the older file 3. Done! I am not sure if this fixes the lag, but it's a start. Hoppah

For the people with lag, please read this post: http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.ph...ost&p=96085

I still need to find a way so it only works once at a time. Anyway, shooting suspects won't go on their knees anymore, because in real life, you are not going to yell 'On your knees!' or 'Drop your weapon!' to a suspect when he/she is already shooting at people. And yes, the armed arrest command is part of the LA Mod. In the original game PD officers do not even carry guns, only the shooter does.
-
Submods are only non-official mods which add additional stuff to the Los Angeles Mod. So each mod has its own installation instructions.
-
Yeah, right now actually. Although I am not playing the map. The summer holidays are not over yet.
-
Something is really wrong with you when you dream of my scripting experience...
-
It's what YOU consider high polygon. Basically, for this game, vehicles don't need that many polygons. A 10.000 polygon Ford Crown Victoria is way too detailed for this game, because this game is not designed (or in my words; 'optimized') for that. Anyway, you can't compare a simple vehicle like that with a fire engine which needs much more details. More details means more polygons. I don't think you need to worry that much. In my opinion, bigger textures require more from a computer than a vehicle with a little more added polygons than usual. Most new civilian vehicles in the LA Mod have 512x512 textures instead of 1024x1024. Remember, that's FOUR times as small. Because some of the new civilian vehicles are not mapped that well, I can't make most textures smaller than 512x512. Just wait and see it yourself when v1.9 is out. @ nycguy555666: There won't be a LAPD Chevrolet Impala in the mod, unless you want to get rid of the Ford Crown Victoria or the Dodge Charger or any other PD vehicle. If I'm not wrong. there is a submod somewhere on this forum which adds a LAPD Chevrolet Impala though.
-
The average new civilian car has more polygons than the original EM4 models. It's not that bad though. But if people experience lag with the new cars, I can always write a VERY SIMPLE tutorial to disable ALL new cars. Deal?
-
Besides the LAFD Tiller, there will be no other new playable units in v1.9. The new map has a bunch of new objects and buildings though. And don't forgot the new civilian cars. Why are you so scared of warnings? It's not like you will get beaten up, because you misbehaved.
-
Traffic lights can't have commands because they are non playable gameobjects. What you can try is making a command for the engineer so he can disable the lights or something. I am just not sure how to do this.
-
I was rude? You know what would be rude? If I'd trash the new map and start over again because I didn't like the layout.
-
Or wait for v1.9
