  1. Besides the scripts for the tiller and the follow command v1.9 does not really have new scripts. I can't imagine they would conflict with this event. Besides that, the event still seems to work on the other maps including the new scripts.
  2. There is no Deluxe version of the map yet, because I can't fix two maps for the same bugs. Only the normal events have been added to the new map so far and I will release that version first. A deluxe version (with the deluxe events indeed) and possibly a multiplayer version will be released later.
  3. freeplayparameters.xml has all events disabled. fp_params_endless.xml is the file you need to edit for the events. It looks like freeplayparameters.xml is only being used for the score thingies.
  4. If the event works fine on the Deluxe map in v1.8 (and v1.8.1) then it should also work on the Deluxe map in v1.9, because the new map has NO Deluxe version yet.

  6. Car starts moving as a normal civil car as soon you start the game. I just might release v1.9 and see if someone else is able to found the problem. Maybe I just had VERY BAD LUCK. If that would be the case I have no idea what and how.
  7. There is a difference between a nearby placed path and a path which is assigned to the car. In the editor, try to select a car, then press Properties, then Traits and you will find path settings. That's how you assign paths to cars which need to follow a path when you start freeplay, like normal traffic. The stolen cars do not have an assigned path, just a path which is nearby. When that event happens the game automatically assigns the closest path with the name 'carthiefxx' (xx might be 01 to 99) to that car. Unless you checked a faulty map, ALL stolencars have a path with that name "carthiefxx" nearby. Just like EmC-Unit just showed you.
  8. Tried, did not work. Tried the values "1.0", "1.5" and "2.0". Did not think of that one. Thanks for the tip. Check the prototypes of the 6 stolencars the map has so far, but they all have the rifle. Yes, that file is exactly the same as the original one. Just added the score things of the Deluxe events to the LA Mod version of that file. There is no difference, as explained in my previous post I even copied the cars from the original maps to mine. Checked and compared the traits and settings as well. Even tried to rename the paths to "CarThief01" (with capital letters), because the Deluxe map uses capital letters in the names of the paths. The paths have similar names and settings (even the speed), as well as the cars. Maybe it's some stupid setting.
  9. Yeah, freeplay. Tested it with ALL other events removed from the xml file. Also tested it with police events only because I had to test the new follow command. I think I have tested the map for about 20 hours the last few weeks and the event never happened. Maybe it should be kept 50? But that wouldn't make sense. I am not sure what it exactly means either. An average of 40 or 50 stolencar events each 10 minutes? That almost matches real life LA. lol Nope, checked all freeplaymaps with working stolencar events and the cars have no assigned path or escape path. Hoppah

  11. Hi, As most of you know I am working on a new freeplaymap for the LA Mod. The map is done, most events have been added. I only have one huge problem. The stolencar event does not work. What I did is this: 1. A parked car (without any assigned paths) with the name "stolencar". 2. Adding a path nearby with speed 7.5 and name "carthief01". I tested for hours, with and without other events and the stolen car event DOES NOT happen. I even reverted to the old map to confirm there is nothing wrong with the xml file (fp_params_endless.xml), but the event works fine on the original freeplay map. This means there is probably something wrong with the map file (freeplay.e4m) of the new map. I just have no idea what's wrong. Found a similar problem without solution on the German forum: Autodiebstahl in der FP (Probleme) (in German) I hope someone is able to help me, before I am gonna hurt myself. Hoppah
  12. Most of the commands regarding the stations have been disabled in the script, so they cannot be used in the normal multiplayer map as well. You can try to enable that though. You can even make a start script for multiplayer to spawn vehicles in the stations. Each spawned vehicle will be assigned to player 1 though and that can be changed too. I just do not advice to even try it as the stations will be a mess with vehicles from 4 players parked in the stations and only player 1 is able to use the control panels. That's the main reason the singleplayer fire stations will NEVER be added to the multiplayer map. The police station and hospital should work fine though. The scripts are designed for singleplayer only and will NEVER work '100%' in multiplayer.
  13. For all of you: I can't fix anything without screenshots. Am I supposed to find the spots where the cars get blocked on these maps myself? The multiplayer map has like 3 or 4 bridges and, if I am right, that ladder issue only happens in multiplayer what you forgo to mention. I NEED MORE INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH SCREENSHOTS. It's not hard to tab a button when you need a screenshot. So get Fraps and reproduce the bug for me and take a screenshot. Cannot reproduce the bug? Then it's not a bug, sometimes the game just acts weird. Or do you not want to load Fraps each time you start the game? No problem, when you find a bug hit ALT-TAB and start Fraps while EM4 is still running in the background. Then go back to the game and make the screenshots. Unless you want to wait a couple of months longer for the next version I suggest you are gonna try that.
  14. LA Mod freeplay originally had a playlist of only 6 songs, but each time you start freeplay it starts with the same song. I can't change that, but I did add ALL background music to freeplay now. Too bad of the old music which got deleted. I even bought the first Soundtrack CD of that show, but that doesn't mean I can just add the music to the mod. 'Jack in the Limo' was my favorite song of that CD too.
  15. The TOS mentions that asking for release dates is not appreciated here and might result in a warning. I, the LA Mod creator, do NEVER work with release dates, because: 1. You don't pay me 2. It's a hobby 3. I like to do other things too 4. If that's not good enough for you, you should leave this forum. edit 2: I don't understand why you make such a trouble about our WARNING system. You are the second one in two days who complains about his first warning. It's only a DIGITAL warning, that means your parents won't get a letter, you won't get beaten up by the forum police and you won't go to prison. It doesn't change your life in any way. You should start to worry when it reaches 100%...
  16. Adding the fire stations, police station and hospital was the first thing I did to the new map. Otherwise you can't test it (game will crash) ingame. Or did you mean something else?

  18. Yeah right. That's not how it usually works out in real life. Did your parents ever forbid you to play a certain game? Mine didn't. Mine even bought me GTA 1 and Carmageddon when I was like 10. I come from a time where the effect of violence in games was not really known. Back in the time it was like: "Games are games, they're not real". Games weren't that realistic like nowadays though, but we live in an era where games and game producers are the first one who are getting blamed when some crazy kid kills a couple of people on a school campus. Parents should check their kids better, but most of them are either too lazy or don't know what very violence games and movies CAN do to younger people. When I was 12 I only played games on a computer when it was cold or raining outside. That's different these days. In my opinion, you can't have kids of that age play on a computer for hours a day, because that might turn them into some unsocial asshole and totally closed off of the real hard world outside, and that's exactly how violent games affect younger kids. I'm not sure what the M rating is. I don't really care either because I am 21 and don't have kids. GTA 4 should be rated 16+, because you don't see porn (besides some humping and invisible genitals), dismembered/mutilated people (you don't want to know what REALLY happens to bodies when you hit them with a car at 120 mph), dead kids and racism at all in this game.

EM4 does not support anti-aliasing. You can use photo editing software to reduce that in screenshots though. As for the video, it was recorded on a resulation of 1024x768 pixels and the final video got compressed down to 512x384 which makes these jagged edges not visibile anymore.
