What's that supposed to mean?
-
I guess he's Asian-American and lives near San Fransisco in the US.

All files are kept in a 3 feet thick fire-proof metal safe, with fingerprint and retinal eye scan protection. When someone else besides me tries to access it, the files get destroyed. That's why it takes so long to finish v1.9. It happened twice that I used the wrong eye and finger to access the safe... Ontopic: Complaint: I hate fixing bugs.

Why should I release LA mod v1.9?
-
The vehicle is supposed to freeze for a couple of seconds. I fixed the aerial ladder bug for v1.9 btw. That bomb robot bug is hard to fix, but I'll give it a try.

Hey, I once almost got hit by a truck while I was riding my bicycle. That was almost the end of me the LA Mod.
-
The cars behind the truck had seconds to react. These cars might have been distracted, because of the approaching ambulance and the accident on the other side of the highway (not visible in the video). The truck could've blocked the view before it switched lanes. Then suddenly a motorcycle is in your way... You do not expect a stopped vehicle on the middle of a highway. Very bad anticipation of the motorcycle officer. He did survive it though. Here's a video of the accident on the other side of the higway: You can see the convoy leaving the scene and people suddenly start running to other side of the highway after motorcycle driver got it.

Take a look at the Mods folder in your Em4/911:FR directory and see if there is any folder with the name Los Angeles Mod. If so, delete that folder and try to reinstall the mod again.

Rotate the object in Zmodeler 2 as said before, THEN reset the pivot. The pivot is the rotating point of objects. I am sure one of Zmodeler 2 tutorials also mentions this. Good luck!

The first LA mod for Emergency 4 was v1.0 and released in August 2005. Every other version replaced the previous version. As well as v1.9 which will just replace v1.8. That make installing the mod easier as you have to install only 1 package for the whole mod. I personally hate update patches and stuff. I am not sure what the lightbar mod is, but the siren script has been edited for v1.9.
-
You have to use Fraps to reset the pivot of the wheel to the center of the model, because the pivot is always the rotating point of an object.

I wish I could. I am currently driving a Ford Fiesta.

Not yet, I have plans to improve things on the map after the first release. Here's the final update post of v1.9. Carman made me a new vehicle, a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee:
-
Oh, I forgot about that. The mission patch will already be integrated in v1.9. That means the main missionlist will contain 30 missions (10 la mod + 20 original ones). The bugs from v1.8 will be fixed ofcourse.

v1.8 with the new map? I think there is something you don't understand. The new map is PART OF v1.9, just like the new tiller and the chase command. The other difference compared to v1.8 is the way you install v1.9. v1.9 comes with an installer which gives you an option to either install the new OR the old map. This means v1.9 is going to have EVERYTHING what v1.8 also had. Summary of v1.9 1. New map 2. Tiller 3. Chase command 4. New installer For the paranoid people: You DO NOT need any older version of the Los Angeles Mod to install/play v1.9 when it's going to be released. It's a complete new release of the Los Angeles mod, just like every single previous release of the mod. Yes, I got several PM's from people who though they needed older versions of the mod to install the latest version (v1.8 in this case). They asked me where they could download v1.7. I just wonder, where the hell did they read that? The installation instructions are so easy and still some people don't get it?! I just hate that. The installation instructions even advises to remove all older versions of the mod because you do not need them anymore. The first thing I am going to do after the release of v1.9 is making a new huge FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). Hoppah

v1.9, which includes the new map, will be released as an .exe installer to give people the choice to install the new map or not.

It cannot be done fast & easily, but NFK is right. When you disable the radiation (fake light glow) of each light of each vehicle the lights become less annoying. How to that: 1. Start the editor and load the Los Angeles mod. 2. Go to Edit -> Vehicles, select a vehicle, then press Edit -> Edit Lights. 3. Scroll through the whole list of lights and remove the 'Radiation' check of each light. You don't need to do anything if a light does not have the radiation enabled. 4. When done press OK and see if you notice any difference when placing the vehicle on the map. 5. Do the same thing to other vehicles if you want. This might also reduce lag, but is never really tested this way.

[EM4] Los Angeles Mod Bugs @ Xplorer4x4: What you don't understand of that? If he just downloaded the mod he does not need a patch. Install the mod and you're ready to go. Some Windows versions used to shorten filenames to this: "modins~1.exe" (which actually is ModInstaller.exe). The ModInstaller is the program which installs mods for Emergency 4. When you double click the .e4mod file of the mod it gets installed by the ModInstaller automatically. It's not hard to install a mod if you take some time to read the instructions.

Leadership: -1 Sorry, couldn't resist.

Go to your Emergency 4 or 911:First Responders installation directory and see if a folder with the name 'Mods' exists. If not, create it (Right click -> New Folder) and try to install the LA mod again.
-
Yes, make sure you save the map in the correct location (...\Emergency 4\Mods\Los Angeles Mod v1.8\Maps\). If you can't find your saved map anymore, search your whole computer for .e4m type files. Files just do not disappear...

1. Read the 'Adding vehicles' tutorial to make vehicles playable in a mod. 2. You need to change the script of the siren command (LASiren.script) to make the siren work for the new vehicle.

That error is part of a code which has been added to the game in the latest patch. When you don't have the patch, you don't have the code (RESTRICT2_CANBEPICKEDUP) and that will result into a crash because the game does not recognize the code. Your problem is not related to the Los Angeles mod in any way. This means you have the normal version of Emergency 4 which requires patch 1.3 which can be downloaded here: Emergency 4 Patch 1.3 DE Installing the patch should solve your problem. Note for other people: 911: First Responders and Emergency 4 Deluxe are already updated to 1.3 and do not require any patch.

Complaint: Can't get my wireless network/internet connection to work on my laptop. I HATE FREAKING WIRELESS STUFF! Maybe it interferes with something else in my room. I have too many devices in my room. edit: Fixed.
