It's true that not all skins in the LA Mod are that good. Especially when you use a camera hack you will see that not every texture looks very good. There are almost 500 textures in the mod. Don't forget that I started to make 3D-models more than 4 years ago and that some of the textures in the mod are 4 years old. Four years ago, I didn't have alot of experience with Photoshop. My personal favorite textures are the textures of the recently made Audi A8 and Eurocopter EC-135. They are almost perfect in my opinion. There is also another reason. I try to keep my textures as small as possible for the LA Mod. Most of them are (only) 512x512 pixels, because I don't think bigger textures necessary for a game like this and smaller textures also improve performance on older computers.

Russia's special forces might be well-trained, but maybe you should read the Beslan school crisis which happened in 2004 to see how Russia deals with hostage situations.

That's all about tactics and is different in each situation. Climbing a wall without a rope is not that important. I do think there is a big difference in fighting techniques between countries. It seems like that most of these Asian special forces do learn some exotic fighting style. Funny thing is, most Asians I know are MUCH shorter than me and I am only 1,86 meter (6'1"), what is about the average height for a male in my country I think. Besides that, smashing roof tiles with your head is impressive but not that special. Or do you think that their skulls are harder or something? (iLol) A video doesn't say that much. Qualities like survival skills, stamina, strenght and endurance are very important too. And what about negotiation skills and after care services or even the whole organisation? When you just had to to kill someone (because it's your job) you will most likely need mental aid. Videos like that do only make me laugh (espcially the tree hugging in the other video), because it is in no way a representation of 'how good' the special forces of a certain country actually are. China is very big and I do not expect a special forces team can reach any place within the hour there. What makes special forces of a certain country good anyway? The ability to solve situations without the use of (lethal) force should be more important than training anyway in my opinion. I rather see statistics of that.

We always write the day before the month, today is 06-02-2010 (6 February 2010; that's also how we always pronounce a date in Dutch: day before month). We're free to give our opinions. I just don't see why 'MS sucks' is an argument for the topic starter to not get a MP3-player from Microsoft.

This topic is not about Microsoft itself, that's why that argument is not valid. Most people prefer an objective view of both types of products. No appliance is unbreakable, that also counts for all of the Apple products. It's true that most of the Apple products are made of decent materials, but that doesn't make it undestroyable or something. Sound quality has more to do with the earphones and Apple earphones are not really known for their good quality (source: click). There are a ton of different audio/video formats, the iPod supports only a few audio formats: MP3, WAV, AAC, AIFF and M4A (Source: click). That means it doesn't support formats like FLAC, WMA, OGG and some others. If I'm not wrong all videos have to be converted to either MP4, M4V or .MOV (source: click). iTunes probably has a convertor for videos, but that doesn't mean the iPod supports all types of videos. I'm just trying to be objective. Both Microsoft and Apple have good products. If you really want good opinions here you need to find someone who both has a Zune and an iPod to prevent 'fanboy' replies. Each product has its pros and cons. For some people the cons or pros count harder than others. I'd personally go for an iPod Touch or an iPhone, although I'm no fan of the obligated use of iTunes, but most people do not really care about that. But you will definately get a decent product if you go for Apple. If you have a lot of time try to read reviews about Zune MP3-players.

I have a laptop too and without the possiblilty to use a mouse I would sell it again. Touchpads are horrible compared to the even CHEAPEST available mouse. When there is really no possibility to even use a mouse use the tips in this thread, but gaming without a mouse is a no-go for me. Playing games on a laptop is actually something I would never do. I really hope you didn't buy that laptop for gaming or to save space in your room.
