Use the Channels windows to select or add the Alpha Channel. When you enable the Channels windows you should see R-channel G-channel B-channel Alpha-channel Alpha-channels do only contain black/white and usually used to add transperacy. However, if you enable alpha reflection in the EM4 editor the channel is used for the reflection.

There are few textures (around 10) that aren't locked. When I try to lock them they become corrupt for unknown reason. Among them are the following files: battalion_chief_vehicle.dds, suv_bomb_squad.dds, fbi_suv.dds and tiller_trailer.dds. Repacking files isn't necessary indeed. Packed files do only save space on your computer, that's all. The right format and file name is important though. If you converted the file from .dds to .jpg you need to convert it back to .dds when you are done.

The MP5 and M4a1 are the closest you can get for this game (so far). But you cannot give them to civilians because these weapons need to controlled by the player. The scripts are not designed for civilians.

Buddy, please do some research yourself before posting anything that isn't true. It's not that hard to start the editor and check that yourself. Better don't reply if you don't want to spend time in helping people. You can unlock every .v3o file from the original game files too. It's just not advised to mess with the Data folder, so you can better make a copy the .v3o files you want to edit first. Then unlock it.

@ LACityFFengineCo287: He's only ten. The game is not realistic, but the Los Angeles mod can give you some insight about the LAFD apparatus and increase general interest. Besides that, the game can be informative in a very basic way. For example: Firefighters have more tasks besides fighting fires. That's obvious for the most of us, but young kids might not know that (yet). So Voodoo_Operator is right. Of course it's only a game for fun. There are no games which can REALLY train you for real life situations. Most 10-year-old kids also think that The Sims series are simulators. I'm just saying. I rather see kids playing the Los Angeles Mod than starting real fires or playing dumb shooters like Call of Duty.

Delete the following file from the mod: escape_person.dds in ...\Mods\Los Angeles Mod v2.0\Textures\ The icon on the minimap was never removed. The icon above the heads of person (similar to the icon of the contaminated persons) was made invisible in one of the first versions of the Los Angeles mod for EM4/911:FR. edit: In case you want to remove the icon from the minimap you need to change something in the Data folder: 1. Go to the following folder: ...\Data\UI\Game\radar\ 2. Make a backup of e3gui_radar_map_fleeing_nos3tc.tga before opening it with Photoshop 3. Select the alpha channel and make it completely black 4. Save 5. This change will make the gangster icon on the minimap invisible. You can't copy do (copying this file to a mod) the same thing for the LA Mod because interface stuff like this do not work for mods for a certain reason. I don't see a difference either, but that might be caused by the jpg compression. Unfortunately, there is some distortion in your picture. If you used Fraps to take the screens, make sure to choose .png or .bmp for the screenshots. They have less distortion and that is better for a comparision like this.

You can edit the em4.cfg (or em4deluxe.cfg) config file to change the resolution to anything you want.
