  1. I don't play other mods and I don't care how they did it in the Winterberg Mod. Probably by making 2 million commandscripts. I've played the newest version of Winterberg for 10 minutes and I didn't know what to do and I didn't like it at all. They've deleted almost everything from the original gameplay and that's one of the thing I absolutely DO NOT want to do with my mod. The whole mod leans on playing with fire department, meaning there are no cool police functions. Emergency 4 has more than playing with fire department units. There is only one reason people like the mod and that's because Winterberg Mod is the only unique German mod. I can make my own scripts and I don't even have to ask the creators how to add that function. It just takes some time.

  4. I already got like 4 different police/army forces in the mod: LAPD, LASD, CHP, Nat. Guard and FBI in v1.6. That's more than enough. Come up with some special abilities if you want new units. It's not possible to script water limitations. I even think it adds more frustation than fun to the game. And it's also not possible to connect two vehicles. Any ideas how to give vehicles from the fire station to all players? The park scripts must be changed completely, because it's made for single player. I can add the hospital and police station, but that isn't really worth to spend my time on. Multiplayer is very unstable. It will add more bugs than fun. California is in the US, so who cares? I couldn't make vehicles undestroyable to saboteurs yet. The control panel is a 'vehicle object', because normal objects aren't commandable.

    No. A few new models, a huge script, alot of patience and time makes it possible to add this. It doesn't work like the original Emergency 3/4 equipment.

  9. Topic merged with the 'official' suggestions topic. Idea is good, but not really a must to have in the mod. More than 10 vehicles already have the directional lights commands.
  10. If you move unit close to the barricades you will get a hint that you can pickup the barricades with a fire fighter. You didn't try hard enough.

  13. @ lord_bonev: I am already working a black SUV. Not the one in your picture. Mine will be unmarked and won't have a lightbar. A new freeplay takes months of work. I can spend my time on much more and better things. I don't really see the point of having even more government agencies in the mod. Why add NSA if we don't have any special abilities for THAT agency? And CTU doesn't even exist in real life. You've watched the show 24 for too long. Police dogs are cool, but hard to make. It's hard to make a script where these dogs attack or scare people. If I copy the rappel commands to the SWAT units, the Army units would lose their special abilities.

  16. It isn't that easy. Buildings must be changed to 'walkable' objects then.
  17. I haven't planned to do HRT. They would have the same functions as LAPD SWAT and I don't think they would be useful. Like you said they even look like the LAPD SWAT units besides some small details. Can you explain to me what an OPG paint scheme is? Your equipment idea for the rappeling soldiers is good. I don't know how to make that yet, because I don't want to copy the commands for each piece of equipment (Rappel 1 soldier with rifle, Rappel 2 soldiers with rifle, Rappel 1 soldier with chainsaw, Rappel 2 soldiers with chainsaw, etc...) Thanks for the info. The weapon used in the picture is the scoped M4A1 used by the SWAT sharpshooters in the mod. The picture is an example, because I wanted to show the different pose of the unit. But most people won't really reconize the weapon ingame because it will be so small. I am going to model a new one, but the type of weapon is not really important. Thanks Hoppah
  18. I just add new things and you want more and more? lol I know what you mean and I suggest you read the suggestions topic. There are some ideas I might add to the mod. I can't promiss things right now.
  19. Hi everyone, After a long break without any updates I'm finally here to present some of the new toys in v1.6. Maybe some of you remember I've talked about a secret thing. I didn't know if I could manage to make it work, so I didn't want to reveal where I was working on. It just took a while to make it work. And it works! I made three new things for v1.6. The first things is a fully working and animated FBI Mobile Command Vehicle. Note that this the Los Angeles version and not the (better known) Washington version. About 6 or 7 parts of the truck have animations which will be played when you deploy the truck. I've made two FBI agents too. One with the blue jacket and one with some kind of tactical vest. I've also planned to add a black FBI SUV. Thanks to MikeyPI for the model and animations. Ingame screenshot: MikeyPI has made me a new model to replace the tow truck in the mod. This model has animations as shown on the screenshot. Due to game limitations the animations aren't perfect. I couldn't make the load animated, so just the rollback part is animated. Ingame screenshot: I kept the best thing as last. Rappel commands everyone was dreaming off! I didn't want to use the engineer commands, because that looks far from realistic. I made my own version by making new animations. The ropes which fall down and the rappeling soldiers are fully animated. You can choose to drop 1 or 2 soldiers from the helo. Ingame screenshot: I've made a video showing the rappel commands ingame too: I have planned some other things I want to make later: - A black FBI SUV. MikeyPI has allowed me to use his '07 Tahoe. - The FBI Command Vehicle will heal persons who are inside the vehicle. - The FBI Command Vehicle will be able to buy FBI agents. - A new sniper rifle command for the FBI agents.   21. Yes and that wasn't easy. The soldier and SWAT unit have a new helmet and the Sheriff's Deputy wears a new hat.
  22. A horn is to warn, not to tell people they have to get out of the way. But controlling sirens/lights require some kind of control panel which is hard to make. I don't have experience with that. Same thing to make the cars move to the side of the road. Such a script will be very hard to make and time-consuming. But the ideas are good.
  23. That Heavy Rescue thing looks awesome, but a crane is a crane. I am almost certain that most of time other companies take care of recovering and transporting debris and wreckages. Yes, that's a nice script you've made/edited, but I have some reasons I never added that feature before: 1. People should sliding down a rope, not holding it. Look at this video: . That doesn't look like anything compared to how the engineers go down in EM4.2. The engineers go down way too slow and it's just one person at a time. 3. The LAPD helicopter doesn't look very suitable for rappeling. 4. You can better animate it than using the engineer commands. Although that requires a lot of work. :)
