  2. @ MCERT1: The idea is good, really good. But I'm not going to replace the SAR dog I have now. Having a police dog to restrain suspects would be better for the police units in the mod. I am still looking for a way how to do that. It's theoratically possible, the dog acts as a 'person' type object in Emergency 4. That makes it easier to build a script.
  3. My study has nothing to do with modding or firefighting, it's an economical one. My mistake in the manual. Aerial Ladder should have 2 FF/EMT's instead of 4. Most people, especially the people who play the mod just for fun, will agree it makes the game easier when the ambulances has a stretcher team AND an extra FF/PM. If I get rid of the extra FF/PM it involves two steps to defribiliate someone: 1. Drop stretcher -> 2. Get EMT bag That does not work well with the speed you have to play the game (patients die fast, a lot is happening). I still use the stretcher team to transport only and the FF/PM's to treat patients. That's how I play the game. But that doesn't mean the new EMS system is worthless, you can actually use the FF/PM stretcherteam to heal persons if you want now. The EMT bag is extra equipment and the FF/PM's without bag can still heal now. These are big improvements and were important to make a good working ALS/BLS system too. Besides that, The 'Heal' command is a priority command for the FF/PM, the 'Lift patient' command is priority for the stretcher teams. This way, the game feels more balanced. If you really want to have 1 FF/PM stretcher team I will make a guide to change that, because this is NOT going to change anymore. Yes I kept that option, the non-LAPD vehicles just don't use the back garage anymore.

  5. LA MOD News! Finished the final 2 missions for v1.7. Here are the briefings: I can't really show screenshots of mission 9, but I have two from mission 10: Other changes/additions: - Added rapid deploy command to the SWAT trucks. The command deploys a 4 man SWAT team: 2 officers with MP5, 1 officer with ballistic shield, 1 officer with pistol. - Only LAPD vehicles will come out of the police station on the freeplaymaps now. And maybe the best news! Here's the BETA version of the manual for the Los Angeles mod v1.7! Download link: LAMOD_manual_BETA.pdf (right click 'Save target as' works the best) Size: 2,7 MB Notes: It's a BETA version, what means this version will not come with LA MOD v1.7, because we still need to add some texts and fix mistakes. This manual is created for version 1.7. A lot has been changed, so do not report things like 'vehicle x is missing equipment'. I released the manual so people have something to read before I will release the real Los Angeles mod v1.7. The manual links to files of v1.7 which are not online ofcource (mission patch v1.7 for example). It's forbidden to upload the BETA manual somewhere else.   6. - You can't deploy the motorboat? - You can't anchor the motorboat? - You can't move the motorboat at all? - You can't put firefighters in the motorboat? - Your firefighters won't leave the motorboat? or - You need a certain vehicle that is not available? (the motorboat?) - You can't finish an objective? - The mission crashes? - You can't see the mission in the missionlist? Jeez, you HAVE TO post more information, otherwise I can't help you. Like I said before, you need HELP, so this is probably not a bug. Learn the difference. Dozens of people, including me, have finished the mission succesfully before.
  7. That's why there is readme. Extract the .zip file and Search the forum if you have problems with installing the mod.

  11. Ask Mikesphotos. Changing the EMS system was his idea and I don't think it's bullshit. The MCU is already fictional, it doesn't matter what kind of personnel it has. The Red Cross Hummer exists in real life, but actually requires Red Cross personnel and not LAFD firefighters. However, it's not important enough to spend time on creating RC personnel for just one vehicle.
  12. Not going to keep the old paramedics. There are 2 ways to EASILY identify the FF/PM: - Instead of turnout pants they wear navy blue pants - By the EMS logo in their unit picture

More news about the manual: The manual is almost done and I'm going to release it earlier than the real v1.7 mod. It might be interesting for some people. It has 40 pages now, but most of them are vehicle-/personnel lists.

  16. Won't be released in five days, because: 1. v1.7 is going to have 4 new missions, so far I just showed everyone 2. 2. The manual isn't finished yet. 3. v1.7 needs a lot of testing when it's done (already have my testers). 4. Need to redo the mission patch. The only thing I can tell is that v1.7 has been finished for 95% now, including the manual. There will be a new update about the last 2 missions soon. Hoppah

  18. Silent Hunter 4 is from Ubisoft Entertainment so yes, it should be available in the US too. Silent Hunter 3 was about the German U-boats (submarines) during WW2. Silent Hunter 4 is about the US Submarines during WW2 in the Pacific, so you fight against the Japanese. The game is a simulator and not easy to learn, but you can change difficulty levels drastically. They made the game as realistic as possible. For example, when you start in Pearl Harbor you really need to travel more than 4.000 nautical miles to get to Japan, but there is a time accelerator to speed it up. There is no demo.
  19. Yes, you take command of a US Submarine. And there are big cruise liners again, old and modern ones.
