  1. It's fine as long it's a personal change. There won't be a permission to release it. If I give one guy permission, other people are going to bitch why they don't get permission. And that's exactly what I want to prevent. Read the 'copyright thread' to understand why. Tip: If you really want to make a NYC-mod learn 3D-moddeling at least. Then make some nice models and THEN we can talk about sharing vehicles. If you don't even want or have the time to learn 3D-moddeling, you're not dedicated and/or motivated enough to make a mod.
  2. I have no intentions to change the stretcher again. The one we have is not that accurate, but it's good enough. I am still the only one who knows how to add polygons to the person models and it's A LOT of work and something I am never going to again. You're right about the actions. The game recognizes them as two seperate actions/animations. It's possible to add it, but like the rollback truck it won't work 'smoothly'. That's why I disabled the rollback truck animations in v1.7. The idea is good though. There are no plans for new vehicles. The only vehicles I still need to change are the Foam Tender (Mikesphotos has new pics of the top) and the SWAT Heavy Rescue vehicle. We already have plans for v1.9. I am going to release v1.8 asap.
  3. Yes, it's free to use.
  4. Yes, you may use the flare script (and flare model if you want). It depends on what you want to do with the sirens, because 1. Do you want to give vehicles more than 1 siren? 2. OR do you only want to change the siren on a certain vehicle? For 1. you need to do alot more than only copying and renaming the scripts. A lot of other commands are connected to this script and the script itself is big. For 2. you only need to add and change the path to the siren file. I used constants to the paths, so you only need to change the constant. It's really easy to do. I suggest you open a thread in the HELP section of this forum if you want to 1.
  5. Besides the pathetic way of talking in your own language, I HATE cleaning up topics for these useless discussions over and over again. Because I don't want to spend time in translating what you just said in fake Russian I just ban you. I also don't talk in Dutch when I am cornered by people who speak better English than myself. See you back in 9999 days when we're all dead. Hoppah
  6. You got another warning for insulting me without a reason. Why? Because you post is based on NOTHING except personal taste again. Your post is personal because the mod is mine. Come with facts man. FACTS, everything in your post is bullshit. Funny colour schemes? Where the hell is that based on? What's so funny about them? The colour schemes of the cars can't get more realistic than they already are... All the sirens are as realistic as they can get now. Guys like you always come up with the sirens you can find on the Federal Signal website. And GUESS WHAT?, according to Mikesphoto's they aren't like the real sirens in LA. I am not even going to start about the lights, you can match them with the real vehicles for most of them. Lets start about the cars now. 3 to 4 cars which are alike? Almost all PD's still use the Ford Crown Victoria. OFCOURSE, they are alike. Most PD's in LA County have the black/white colour scheme, so that makes them look similar ofcourse. Adding an older LAPD Caprice isn't ANYTHING like the real situation in LA. Films? Since when are films realistic? 99% of the films are FICTIONAL, so film producers can add or change anything they want. They often need to get permission and pay money to use real PD stuff in their films. Federal vehicles have often too much lights in movies, just because it's cool. I don't blame them for doing that. but cool doesn't mean realistic. So I don't base my mod on movies. It's doesn't make the mod more real AT ALL. You're pushing it to the limit man. You KNOW I'm not going to add older cars, resisting against my decission doesn't work this way. You're a big joke, go back to school and learn English and the difference between personal taste, fiction and non-fiction. If I don't like something I am not going to add it. It's my mod. That doesn't mean we can't talk about it, but your post is total bullshit. I don't reply much in this topic. Even when I do, all I get is the criticizem. People are hard to satisfy here. Hoppah
  7. Not going to spend time on Caprice police car. Why? 1. Because the mod already has dozens of police cars. 2. I'm trying to keep the mod as modern as possible. 3. I don't think PD's still use the car, someone once said the car wasn't very reliable. 4. And final, I don't like the car myself. Hoppah
  8. It's a discussion thread, ofcourse you're allowed to reply to others their ideas. If you think an idea is bad you can give your thoughts about it. Might help to prevent something stupid being added to the mod.
  9. There are no new commands to call other vehicles, because there is no space in the windows. That also means other vehicles don't have the Stand-by command (no use for them).
  10. Yes, the video on youtube is low resolution so it's hard to see all the details or to recognize the EMT/PM fire fighters. And the EMS system doesn't add much visual (eye-candy) stuff, it's more a feature that improves gameplay. You can't really explain that in a video. Same thing for the Stand-by command in v1.8.
  11. Read a few posts back dude where I just released information about a new command! Next time you quote your post to repeat it you WILL get a warning. Maybe two. Just have some patience. It wasn't even necessary to ask that, because that's basicly what I meant. So yes, a new vehicle will be bought, spawned and dispatched to the position where you wanted the additional vehicle.
  12. Good morning y'all. I've been working on a new promotional video for the mod. Watch the video here: Thanks to Stan for uploading it to youtube. Hope it's enjoyable. Hoppah
  13. You have to do it yourself. Incorporating it to the move command doesn't work ofcourse. You don't want to call vehicles which just arrived at a scene for example. The good thing about the stand-by command is that you can set up your own spots to position vehicles on the map and use the commands to call them.
  14. If you still don't know which cars can be called by a command: RTFM - Read The F** Manual There are plans to replace more civilians cars. Are you going to post that each time then? I don't like that light and there is already an unmarked car (and 100's of other police vehicles) in the mod, so the answer is no. Your post has been deleted, because this is not the suggestions topic.
  15. I'm sorry but I have to shoot your suggestions down for a couple of reasons. It's nothing personal, but they were my own choices while I was building the mod. To make the game more efficient I decided not to add recruits (like in EM3) to the mod. It just takes too much time to select and dress each recruit and put him in a vehicle. You don't have enough time for that in this game. It's not a simulator either. Just pretend the game already does that for you when you alarm the stations. It's not possible to add a climbing fire fighter. Besides the fact you can't change anything to the way the ladder acts you also can't create new person animations. The model of the CHP Camaro wasn't 100% identical to the real one and has been replaced by the CHP Dodge Charger. If I'm not wrong there was even a poll about that on the forum. Nevertheless, you can still find the CHP Camero in the mod. It's just disabled. Find some spare time and use the 'Adding vehicles' tutorial to enable it again. It was disabled because the mod already has dozens of police vehicles which have all the same functions. Just different appearances. Tony's lights aren't realistic and I don't want 100's of lights on the vehicles. Mikesphoto's (he is from LA) already changed the lights in the mod so they should match the lights in real life. Like I often have to say: Something that LOOKS cool doesn't mean it should be in the mod. There was already a big discussion about this before. Any posts mentioning tony's lights again will be deleted. I like the suggestion for commands to staff only 1 vehicle in the fire station, but I don't think it's worth to spend hours of time on something that's not even that usefull. I mean, clicking the 'Call a FF/EMT' button a few times and let them enter a vehicle works almost just as fast. A function like that would also need a command for EACH spot in the fire stations. You can park three ambulances in fire station 1, so you would need 3 commands to staff each vehicle. I can't do the radio commands for the mod, because I am not American. Find someone to do that for each event. The event alarms are combined with a video, so you would need to edit like 40 video's as well. Do you see why I didn't open a suggestions topic before now? There are multiple reasons for everything that has been or hasn't been in or added to the mod. Hoppah
  16. LA Mod v1.8 news! It took a while but I have some more news about version 1.8. There won't be any new missions in v1.8, but I am busy with improving current features in the mod. One of the features are improvements to the commands to call additional vehicles. All cars that can be called by one of these commands have a stand-by command now. Cars that are on stand-by will act like a parked vehicle at a fire station or the police station. That means they can be called by one of the commands to call additional vehicles. Another improvement is that these commands will really call the closest vehicle now, no matter it's on patrol, on stand-by or parked at the fire/police stations. An even better improvement is that the stand-by command also works in multiplayer and missions! This means the battalion chief and EMS captain can be usefull in the missions as well. The final improvement to these commands is that a new vehicle plus crew will be bought when there is no vehicle available after using a command to call an additional vehicle. This won't work in multiplayer to prevent people from screwing other people by calling 100 cars by themselve. There is more news about v1.8! MikeyPI build a whole Cadillac DTS fleet. You will find 5 different versions of the Cadillac DTS in the mod. 2006 Cadillac DTS Sedan (in Black, White and Silver) This one will replace some civilian cars in the game. 2006 Cadillac DTS Limousine This one will replace the original limousine in the game From left to right: 2006 Cadillac DTS U.S. State Department Diplomat Limousine. 2006 Cadillac DTS U.S. State Department Armoured Diplomat Limousine 2006 Cadillac DTS U.S. State Department Presidential Limousine The black limousines don't replace any existing car and only the Armoured Limousine will be used in the mod so far. It will replace the limousine used in the 'VIP Escort' mission. Hoppah
  17. There is already an older Caprice used as yellow cab (a taxi) in the LA Mod. I believe that one is from 1993 or something. Where do you need an '89 Caprice for? Besides that, this is not a topic for suggestions.
  18. MikeyPI and me have deleted some of the suggestions/posts. Like written in the first post we are going to keep this topic clean from double posted suggestions. Don't take it personal if your post has been deleted. The idea has already been posted before, it's not necessary to repeat it. This topic is primarely for discussions, we can't reply to every suggestion. Hoppah
  19. Ofcourse you can, I just don't have the time to realize any of these suggestions. That's why I didn't make a new 'General Suggestions Topic' after release of v1.7, so people don't waste their time. I can open one just for discussions ofcourse, but 9 out of 10 people expect me to give my opinion on EACH suggestion as well and I can't do that. If you really have a problem with MY situation at the moment I suggest you go build your own mod and see what happens when you work your ass off on jobs 52 hours a week. It's only temporarely, but each day I get home I have to answer all these questions and PM's again. I'm not here to piss people off or to scare people away from the forum. I already know what's going to be put in v1.8 and that's where I want to spend my time on. I will release more information about v1.8 soon. Just have some patience. Hoppah
  20. I'm certain I said something about unlocking .dds files in the PM's I have sent you.
  21. Ever saw a breaking window in EM4 or the possibillity to break one? It's theoretically possible, but hard to realize. You would need open buildings, with windows that can be smashed with an axe or something, so that would require another command. The windows should be animated so it looks like they're smashed. Add a trigger to the building, so the room will be ignited when someone enters it (through a door) when none if the windows are broken. Then build the mission script which is the hardest part.
  22. Not for this moment. I am working on a few things now. When they're done I will release more information. Just have some patience. I have more things to do besides modding. Hoppah
  23. The Federal Signal Arjent (not Argent) lightbar was already available in v1.6. I haven't planned to replace more lightbars, because I'd like to keep as much diversity as possible in the mod. I wonder if you understood his question... Hoppah
  24. My old pc had a TI4200 (128 MB) and the game ran fine on average details. You don't really need the newest pc to play this game, but 1,1 Ghz is way too low/old. If you like playing games you have to upgrade your pc.
