Its amazing what a nights sleep can do for you. Thanks for your reply Hereweard. What I was thinking of in the beginning was putting actual voices from fire and police scanners, but I see now that unless you use the same voice for all the samples it just wouldn't work. For example, you tell someone to get a hose, he responds in one voice, you tell them to connect the hose, they respond in another voice, now that wouldn't be too realistic now would it lol. I have the LA mod installed but I have been playing on the NY mod mostly. The voices come from the main data folder right? The reason I ask, it seem like I still have alot of the accented voices on my game. As I said in my first post the one I had to change was the "confirming" that one was driving me crazy.

I will start by saying I have searched every possible term to see if I could find any new voices for the crews, but I could not come up with anything. It seems with all the great modders I see at this community, surely someone by now would have tackled this. If not, it might be something I would be willing to try. I have changed my "confirming" to "acknowledge" that I got from a scanner play back. I first wanted to see if it could be done. I know there are 90 some different samples in the audio folder, but to me it sounds like they just have a different pitch to them. I'm new here, so if this is something thats been covered before, forgive me. Maybe I'm oversimplifying things, but that's why I'm asking before I go too far into this. Also, I wasn't sure if this was the right forum or not for this topic, but I thought I'd start here.

I believe you both win the prize, because at both scenes there are exploded cars, I will tow them off and see what that does to remove the yellow, thanks!

Again I have searched high and low but I cannot find an answer to my question. Today I get 2 calls, one for a bomb (that exploded before I could do anything about it) and one for a gas line explosion. After what I think is control over the scenes, I still have an area of yellow on my map in both locations. Is there something I'm missing?

Alright that makes sense, one thing I forgot to mention. While playing and after I send a unit back, I will notice it saying no parking spaces available. I know in my fp_params it is set to 90 spaces max. I did not mention, but this is the NY mod. Thanks.

I searched to find my answer but no topics were found. What I would like to know is, after I'm finished on a fire scene do I send my rigs back to the station or head quarters? The reason I'm asking is I've just gotten a good start on this game and a few things aren't real clear to me. Today after doing some free play, I would choose station or head quarters, but only a few of my units actually returned to the station. If they didn't go there where did they go?

I thought I would make a post here about my first day running my crews on the NYmod. I tried to tell it to my wife, but she just didn't understand where I was coming from, so I thought I'd come here to share a laugh or 2. I finally got down the dispatching part with help from a few good members here. My day started out going well, a small fire here, a pick pocket there, but then it started to rain. Soon after the rain began I got a call for a lightening strike that started a fire. I roll out with 2 units to an industrial building. The fire was not too large and after I called in a ladder to help with the higher areas all was under control. No sooner than I was able to load everyone up I get another call for someone setting fires. By the time I get to the scene with police and fire, this guy has almost an entire block up in flames lol. I called every unit I had to fight the blaze, having to add 4 new fire crews to get a handle on things. But wait, the tones go off and now we have a riot starting to form. I didnt do my homework on riots, so I dispatch the riot unit, (I'm sure you all know the proper name for this team), 2 ambulances, and 2 police cruisers. To make a long story short but the time the flames are out on this one, I have about 14 deceased personnel, numerous civilian casualties, and about 10 burned vehicles. I trying to attend to my many injured and hauling off the other deceased when what do I get next? A person placing bombs, man whats been a long day is about to get alot longer lol. Keep in mind I just got the game from auction about a week ago, so I'm still very new to all of this. I try and apprehend the suspect thinking thats what I should do, but guess what, the bombs start to go off one by one. I have all my fire crews back at the riot and the arson fires, I'm now broke and cannot buy any additional engines, so I start calling all my other crews from the scene they are on to what is now more than 2 block of blazing fury across town. I have medical on scene but where are my engines? I see them on my map, but they are not moving, why you ask, hehe. I still have about 20 or so burnt vehicles scattered around my 2 other scenes and none of my fire crews can get out lol. So I did the only thing I knew to do, quit. It was a learning experience for sure, I now know how to better handle the riots, I know not to place my rigs too close to burning buildings also lol. Maybe this might bring a smile to someone's face, maybe everyone who reads this might think I need to find something else to spend my time doing, but I just thought I'd share. I really am having a good time with this game, and you all seem to have a great community here, keep it up! Charles

Thanks for replying, with some help from a couple of other members here I received the same answer. I've only had the game for a week, but it seemed as though when I first started the units were running the sirens, but I guess I'm getting too old now lol. Thanks again.

After reading a ton of replies and topics last night I tried to uninstall and install the game again, but that still did not help. Am I wrong in thinking that I heard the sirens before?

Hello all, I have been lerking around this site for a couple of weeks now, but I have developed a problem that I cannot find a solution to. I have added the NY mod and LA mod to my game, but now when I have any units arriving on scene they do not have their sirens going. If I move a unit, they will start the sirens, but not while in route. It seems that with the original units that came with the game everything worked fine. I have searched and read every post I could find here, but nothing has helped me out. The only thing I have done to the game is that I tried to add my own sirens to the original, but I later removed them and put the original ones back in. I never touched the script files or anything else. I hope I can get this corrected, and any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
