  1. Try following this tutorial: Replacing a vehicle in one of the fire stations There are several files you have to edit, including the one that says what vehicles return to station and what doesn't.
  2. Yep, I found them. Just lots more WORK to do to make a COMPLETE Mod. However, I'm sure those of you doing mods are running into the same thing I have been, and that is finding that you end up going back and REDOING some of your skins and making them better/more detailed. Wow, at this pace I'll NEVER finish! LOL!
  3. Public intoxication, rioting, mugging, protesting (wildlife issues), attempted murder, etc. Still lots of things for cops to do in ANY location. Just a matter of how "bad" you want the situation to be.

  5. In my area, I've seen both. I personally like the look of SUV, but it's YOUR mod, do what YOU want!
  6. I was a volunteer fire fighter for my home town. I was very luck and they let me join in a limited basis (no driving and no entry into burning buildings) at age 16. When I turned 18, I was allowed to do everything. I also became an EMT (Back then there was separate levels - I was an EMT-Basic). I could drive any of our trucks or ambulance, enter buildings, do rescues including Jaws of Life, even run the engine pump panel. Departments have different restrictions, most would probably not allow full duties unless you are at least 18.

I've had 2 crashes, but I forgot to grab the log file, so I'll try and remember the details for you to try and duplicate. 1 - Responding to a robbery at Barns & Noble (don't remember the address), and sent my officers to "enter building" and game crashed. 2 - Trying to get both ladder and engine 54 to leave building and a civ vehicle got in way, so engine and ladder got part way out and got stuck, game crashed. Hope those help. I'll try and remember to grab log files when I get a crash, but usually I go right back in to try something else.
  8. I think that is what happened when I did a rapid deployment on a ladder company in Manhattan Mod 3.0. I'll have to try again to confirm, but I thought that each member grabbed a different piece of equipment, like ax, jaws, hose, extinguisher, etc.
  9. Not quite right Hoppah. American fire engines have a LIMITED tank. Usually somewhere between 500 and 1000 gallons. Many times the tank is equal or smaller than the pump capacity (i.e. 1250 gpm (gallons per minute)). This allows for a truck to fast attack a small fire (garbage / car) without having to first connect to a hydrant, and give the crew a little time to get the hydrant line connected.
  10. Had a new idea today on my way to work. When I see a Tow Truck/Flatbed/wrecker going to a scene, they DON'T have their lights on. They have them on when towing away the vehicle! And in my area, they have Red and Yellow, but only use Red when on scene / connecting to the vehicle that needs towing. SOOOOooo.... That made me wonder, how hard would it be to change it so the Flatbed, etc., don't have their lights on when responding, but do when towing? Basically reverse of what they do now. I am in NO WAY a scripter. I'm dangerous enough to screw up my mod (thank goodness I make backups). Anyone want to try this one out?
  11. Still having some issues on scripting / adding a vehicle, but I ran into a different problem. I reskinned the EMS bag the Paramedic uses. It looks good in game except that when the Paramedic is CARRYING it, it's still the original color! WTF? Any ideas? I can't find a separate model that is the paramedic with bag to reskin. HELP!
  12. You could keep a couple of the old ones and mix in the new scheme. Would a department totally pay for a repaint of all their old units at once? Where I live, there are some of their old units, and their new scheme.
  13. Thanks Gunswat! Handsup, I like to use the Polygonal Lasso. I've gotten really good with it over the years of doing photo editing for my work, and I can almost draw curves perfectly with it. I zoom in REALLY close (like can see the pixels sometimes) and just take some PATIENCE.

  16. Just a hunch on the lights, but maybe vehicle electrical system shorted out, I don't think the brake lights are lit anymore either.

  18. First - Bump on the above, anyone have any info on what I might have missed in importing the TrafficBar v1 into my mod? Second - I've run into some script issues, and I'm way over my head. I have been playing with changing my vehicles that spawn in the stations. I moved Ambulance 1 to the big station, have Ambulance 2 still there, but Ambulance 3 behind it. I spawn Ambulance 4 at my small station. Here's the problems. 1) when I dispatch these guys out, Amb1 won't go back to the big station, and if Amb4 still in the small station, it says "no room at station, starts a patrol" If I then dispatch Amb4, it will return to the large station. Also, I modded the Station script so Amb1 when it starts at the big station it starts with a Para & Stretcher crew, but when it goes to the small station, it only fills with stretcher crew. If there is a tutorial for what I'm missing, can you point me to it and I'll be happy to try and tackle it on my own first. And lastly, is there a way that I can change Amb1 so it is not a BLS unit so if I use the EMS Captain and he calls for an ALS, I can get Amb1 or maybe it would be better to use the "CALL AMBULANCE" like the cops do and remove the ALS / BLS choices for the EMS Captain. NEW GLITCH - I REALLY NEED SOMEONE WITH SCRIPTING SKILLS HELP! I was following the tutorial for adding a new vehicle to game, and stupid me didn't back up all my files first (DUH!). Emergency 4: Adding vehicles - English - Tutorials - International Emergency & 911: First Responders Fan Forum So my problem is I'm adding a 2nd Bomb Squad vehicle, and when I did, now my CV_LASD vehicle doesn't show in the list in the editor, and in game it gives me the MISSING MODEL box, but the model files are still there! I tried reversing the above tutorial, and that didn't fix it! ANYONE WILLING TO LOOK AT MY SCRIPT FILES AND POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION?!? I'll continue with my reskin & relighting until then.

  20. I have Win7, and I copied the launch icons to my desktop and right-clicked on them and chose Properties. Then I clicked the check box for RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. Haven't had an issue since.
  21. I have a new issue and I hope someone knows what I did wrong. I downloaded the Traffic Bar v1 http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.php?/files/file/546-traffic-bar/ and extracted the files. I copied the V30 and the PNG file to the directory that has the MX7000 lightbars, but when I go into the editor, I don't see the new bar as a child I can add to my Bat. Chief vehicle. Did I miss a step to add new lightbars to my mod?
  22. The blinking white squares are missing coronas. I don't remember the exact post, but I believe it was by EM4Life about a light mod he did he had a similar thing. Search for " missing coronas " in the forums, it should find the link and maybe that will fix it. No idea for the other stuff.
  23. .RAR is a form of file compression. Similar to .ZIP, you need a program to decompress & extract the file(s) back to their original size, then you can install them. Some programs that support .RAR include WinRAR, and 7Zip. I recommend downloading one of them.
