  1. Well, I have always had an interest in computers, so that was my fall back job. I am hoping that one day when my children are older and I move somewhere more rural, I can get back to being a volunteer. I know that they have some more options. Cities won't take the liability. I was a fire fighter after that diagnosis, so I know the job isn't an issue for me. Knowing several fire fighters on the local fire department (I interned with some of them) helps too.
  2. I'm a former Vol. FF. I was going to be a career, but 2 weeks before I was supposed to start on Green Bay Fire Department, they diagnosed me with Asthma (was sick at the time with a nice chest cold, maybe that sku'd the test). Now no city will hire me. Worst, I have the degree, I interned with a fire department for 2 semesters, and had been a volunteer for about 6 years when that happened, and I knew I could do the job. I was a paid-on-call (similar to Vol. for those of you not familiar with it, just we get a wage when we have a call and respond) after the diagnosis too. Oh well, guess things happen for a reason. I really do miss it.
  3. I'd be game, but I'd also be afraid that I might not give correct credit to someone for their model. I don't want to step on any toes. I gave up working on my reskin for public postings, as I didn't want to hurt anyone's feeling if I didn't give proper credit. I've downloaded multiple mods, and have continued to try and make my own personal mod by importing vehicles from other ones (not all that successful) but I don't always remember what came from where. Would people be upset if we were just publishing skins, and not releasing mods, if we didn't get credits right?
  4. Itch, if you are leaving, then may you find happiness in your future endeavors. You gave all of us some amazing content, and I know I will be sorry to see you go. I love your model, and they have given me ideas of how to make my own personal mod for myself look nicer. Wish I had the actual modeling skills, but I'm getting better at the skinning. Have a good one whatever you decide.
  5. What I've had the most problems with is when I am importing a new model to my personal mod. I have to add the doors & wheels on. Getting them to align correctly can be a real pain! Especially wheels. Seems when I get 1 where I want it and I add the next one, something goes screwy when I'm aligning it up, and it ends up screwing up the previous wheel(s) also! ARGH! Also, I wish that so many of the models didn't have lightbars on them already. I would love to choose a different lightbar on the base chassis. Like maybe I don't want a rotating bar I want a LED bar. Make it look like my department spent some money on upgrades for the rigs.
  6. Hey Itchboy, this is probably up your alley: http://www.theverge.com/2015/10/13/9518853/police-ford-taurus-explorer-crown-vic http://www.ford.com/fordpoliceinterceptor/ Figured with your skills, you might be interested in this. Keep up the great work!
  7. Here's some help from other places in the forums. http://forum.emergency-planet.com/tutorials/article/46-transfering-a-model-and-prototype-from-one-mod-to-another/ http://forum.emergency-planet.com/tutorials/article/1-emergency-4-adding-vehicles/ http://forum.emergency-planet.com/tutorials/article/38-how-to-add-vehicles-to-em4911fr/ There are lots of these types of questions already answered in the forums. Try the search box. Keep it general in terms, and you will probably find some others as well. These are 3 of them I bookmarked for my own personal mod. REMEMBER - You will need to credit the source, and DON'T FORGET TO GET PERMISSIONS! Good luck!
  8. http://forum.emergency-planet.com/topic/17199-washington-dc/page-3?hl=rotoray#entry243901 They were working on one in a Washington DC mod, I remember that and found the above when I searched the forums.
  9. I do have a question. While I haven't posted anything on the mod I started in some time, I still have been refining it, but at this point it will probably become a personal mod (Hometown USA) Based on the above definitions it probably would be considered a SUBMOD of the LA Mod. My question is, let's assume I decided to release it, and later I started adding more stuff that is custom, like custom map, maybe some models. Would that then move it to a MOD and not a SUBMOD? I ask for people who start wiht reskins and maybe evolve into more.
  10. I've been holding this in for some time. People, the guys & gals that make stuff for mods, they do it of their own free time. They do have a life outside of this game, and they out of their own good heart let other people have access to their content. All they ask is for credit. This means that they can DO WHAT THEY WANT WITH THEIR CONTENT! They can also TAKE THEIR TIME and release info, screen shots, videos, and the actual files as they see fit! I love looking at the all the ideas people come up with. I've downloaded several mods, and have enjoyed playing them. But to challenge what the content creators do, this makes NO SENSE to me. I currently don't have the skills to do all this stuff myself. I am very happy to wait for good looking mods, and if people change their mind about what they want to do, that is their decision. I might be disappointed that I can't get the content right away, but like in this case, it will eventually probably lead to another cool mod! People, RESPECT is something that not only is earned, but should be given. I respect all the mod creators, and I want to thank you all for your time and energy to make our games more fun and varied!
  11. You have to get the guy holding the sign. When you take him into custody, it is the end of the riot. Once he's in a car, the others stop. I use flashbangs to stun, then get him arrested. Put a couple of officers in the STOP PEOPLE position to keep others from following back to the car, and end of mission! EDIT - OOPS - lost track of which thread I was in! I use the flashbangs in normal LA Mod or mods based on it. Been a while since I played Harbor City, don't remember if it has flashbangs. Sorry for any confusion! Lack of sleep will do that to you!
  12. That worked! Thanks much! Now I can actually deploy 2 vehicles with robots.
  13. Hope this is what you are looking for. This is the BombRobot Script Thanks in advance for all the help!
  14. I know it's been some time since I posted, but I had lots of Real World/Real Life stuff get in the way. But I have never given up on making my own mod. Previously, I had stated (as above) that when I added a 2nd Bomb Squad Unit if I tried to get the robot, it caused an error. This is the error I get. Happens if I click with the Bomb Defusal officer on the vehicle. If I hit Ignore, I can go back to game. But no matter what, I cannot get the robot out of either the original vehicle, or the new vehicle. This screen capture, I specifically had JUST the original vehicle deployed, and had not gotten the robot. In fact, this happened when I went to put the officer back in the truck after defusing by hand. Any additional ideas?
  15. Yep, that's what reminded me of the show!
  16. If you really want to see some great imagry of tow trucks, this show is from a few years ago but gives you some great imagry of them! http://www.hulu.com/wrecked Used to watch this when it was on the air. Kinda wish they still had it on with new episodes.
  17. Looks similar to a Code3 model, maybe this one? http://www.code3pse.com/products/product_info/Fire/Lightbars/C_RMX
  18. Well, still no luck getting a bomb robot into my new vehicle. Got the script updated as explained to me above. Is there a limit to how many bomb robots in the game? Does anyone know if there is another file I'm missing than the scripting above (corrected to my unit's name)? I'll have to shoot some pics for you all of the new unit too!
  19. Thanks for the help. Working on it now. Must have typed something wrong, still didn't get the robot on the new truck. Still working on it.
  20. My way is a little faster. Dispatch a SUV with 1 officer and 2 SWAT. Park the vehicle CLOSE to the Rioters, but far enough that they don't jump your guys when they exit the vehicle (takes a little practice). Use the 1 officer and 1 SWAT just past the vehicle and put them in the STOP PEOPLE position. Use the other SWAT to get a Flash Bang from the SUV, and throw it into the group. As soon as it flashes, use that same SWAT to arrest the guy with the sign (he's the "leader") and get him to the SUV ASAP (that's why you park close). The rest of the group will stop their demonstration as soon as the guy with the sign is in the SUV. If the people don't get out of the street, you can use the officers / SWAT to send them out of the street. Transport the guy with the sign, mission complete.
  21. I know it's been a WHILE since I posted, but I haven't given up on my mod. Just real world life got a little too busy for me. Anyway, need some help. I've upgraded my Bomb Squad, by making a second truck, based on an ESU unit from NY Mod. I have both working in game, but I do have one issue. I can't find how to get the ROBOT into unit #2! Can't find anything in the scripts on attaching it to a specific unit. So right now, I respond BOTH units. Any help?
  22. Download FRAPS for a pretty decent screen capture utility.
