Making my own mod based on LA Mod - Need some help
Handsup! replied to n00bingtarget's topic in Modding Related Support
Hi, good luck with the mod. First of all, once you know the basics, reskinning vehicles to your standards at least is fairly simple, consider watching some videos on Youtube. You may also want to visit http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.php?/topic/10108-modding-faq-work-in-progress/#entry139165 for a short FAQ and lot of the other FAQ's here http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.php?/forum/70-faq/ are alright. On your Red Cross Hummer issue, i believe simply adding the VcmdSiren command in the editor let's you have a siren on that. Possibly. On your duplicate issue, you're going to have to make more units. This can sometimes involve modelling, but if you find some nice models you can use freely, or duplicate the model files of existing vehicles, you can skin/reskin some extra units/create extra Engine numbers to your liking, then you can mess about with the default units spawned (I'm pretty sure someone made a tutorial on it, another member might know it) to fit your mod. You can then call in all the units you've added off-map, too.- 14 replies

Bit of a setback. All data containing Nevada Mod files... Has accidentally been deleted. I know what's happened, i'm a complete idiot. I'll try and recover them, or do a system restore, or anything, but i may have to just start over again. Kind of a 'I want to cry' moment when i realized it had gone. Recovery didn't work. With a bit of effort, i can redo the units soon.

I had contact with MC999 in September, same case of no permissions. I respect that though, there is some nice models in their mod.

I have a question i've been wondering (And many others that i can't think of ATM, lol), on US Engines, do the drivers manually switch the sirens/activate horns etc, for example when an engine's normal horn is sounded a few times. I mean, they don't really manually 'honk' the horn over and over, do they? Here's a video of Austin EMS going over the top on wails and yelps: I understand he might be responding to a cardiac arrest or equiv., but shouldn't he be concentrating on other things than 'playing' with his sirens? Sure, change them to unusual tones to get people's attention, but not a whole array of them, lol!

I own Arma II:CO and was really looking forward to Arma 3, but i don't have the cash to splash on it. However, those pics you took are quite nice. Wallpaper quality even

Hi. I was thinking about joining the SJA Cadets (I'm not a legal adult, yet.) and i was wondering, what does it involve? Does it function like, the Scouts, for example? Or is it a completely different structure? Will you need a first aid kit? Hi vis jacket? I have tons of questions on how SJA functions, so maybe a Cadet could help?

Maybe Amanda was actually hiding herself from the rapist. -

At the moment-no. JOSEMA is fixing the CVPI for me but he's using a model that doesn't just replace cv_lapd, it has several door .v3o's meaning there is some coding problems and now, for some reason, the wheel textures gone haywire so i'm left with white wheels, such a mess,
-
Note: JOSEMA and JrFF34 are currently helping me on the mod, however this does not mean i'm not looking for help still! I apologize to the very few people that follow this mod that there was not an update last week. There is however pictures of one of Team Zebra's vehicles coming up on Tuesday. -Handsup!

I really like this mod, but my only problem is with traffic on map. I have to set up 5 traffic cars sorting out the vehicles, lol, since they keep getting stuck at junctions.
-
Is anyone else having the problem with off map support, where the vehicles are kind of stuck in their spawning zones? I have to manually fix each one by telling them to return to HQ then ordering them to their location, haha. Other than that, i love the mod, i think the amount of fire vehicles you can call in, and the addition of DEMA, as well as the new scripts work perfectly!

I can't wait until i can play this mod
-
Yea, these look like older vehicles rather than anything to do with fictional Steampunky stuff, but unique none-the-less
-
I believe stations have to be set up. You could do it yourself if you were experienced by loading up Norway mod in the editor, and making the old map usable with NoMod.

I think a lot of people would play a mod with early 1900s vehicles, but the workload would be massive.
