  1. So be it. In general I fear for the safety of people in towns with one apparatus and no hydrants on the average fire however. The success of a firefighting operation has so much to do with the actions taking by the first arriving unit/department that if the firefighters don't get in quick and have all the water they need the structure is going to be a loss, especially if they have to wait 15/20 minutes for Mutuial Aid. Even more so for brush fires, if a brush fire is small but off road the average structural engine is not going to be of much use for anything except structure protection. You NEED brush trucks with pump and roll capability (most structure trucks don't) to attack brush fires in any sort of rough terrain, sure if you have too you can do a indirect attack but that takes up time and you lose property while you're doing it.
  2. Its your call man but I can't possibly imagine a rural department having just one pumper/tanker, its just not possible to have a functioning rural department with one truck. And are brush fires going to be taken by Montana Forestry Division or something? That's what most rural/farm departments have. A simple Brush Truck like this one is what your average small town VFD would have, with limited funds the money usually goes towards the expensive custom built apparatus like Pumpers so most brush units are just converted banged-up pickup trucks. I think that would give more of a small town feel too. And face it what kind of place in Montana doesn't have a few grass fires a year?
  3. This looks great!! Will you be adding a few more Monida Pass VFD units? Like a brush unit or tanker?
  4. I think gunswat means the directional bars/rear lights a lot of unmarked units have and I agree that they are a bit of a giveaway. However they are hard to see from a distance on the road and that's when it really matters.
  5. 100% agree, I thing a idea would be to change it up a little, no spotlight at all and paint the cars different colors, because honestly in my area seeing a dark black charger or a white crown vic or tahoe is rare enough so its kinda a clue its a unmarked unit. I propose that they change colors, a town near me has a red crown vic and I know some other areas are starting to do that as well. Also it could help to use different types of cars. I know that some cars handle better at speed than others so a Honda Civic might not be the best for running radar on the interstate but in the cities using a few foreign cars here and there might just make a difference.
  6. I've seen some patrol units with very bright white lights in the center of the LED lightbar that they use as spot lights on traffic stops, however these units are still equipped with the mirror spotlights. As for the RC spotlights that seems like quite the luxury, however remote control front bumper monitors have been common on ARFF trucks for a while and you are starting to see more of them on brush trucks, opinions on them vary wildly however.
  7. Or you could just, you know, take a trip to Surrey, British Columbia and go start some fires...
  8. I had a dream, it had Jennifer Lawrence, Ariana Grande and Kate Upton in it... I also had a dream where I moved to California and then their was a earthquake. That dream wasn't as much fun.
  9. Yeah you'll often find trauma patients missing their clothing, I believe Mythbusters did a show on the "knock your socks off" effect.
  10. To be honest I'm not too thrilled with the new "triangle" light bars (don't get me wrong you have done a great job of making one). Seems like it might be simpler to just put a completely diamond shaped light bar on and call it good.
  11. How'd ya do that? Catch a bunch of people, transport them there and shoot them?
  12. Hey I have a weird thing that's been going on for a long time, when I get a notification from this mod (or the Montana mod) its in German and looks like this "Benachrichtigung über eine neue Antwort: [WIP] THE RED WATCH aka RCMP mod" any of the mods/Stan got any idea what's going on? When it click on it it takes to my User CP.
  13. You have county police?
  14. You're average pumper in North America has about a 500 gallon tank with the larger pumper/tankers having 1,000+. Although some entirely urban departments don't have water at all because they assume they'll always have a hydrant (this logic quickly falls apart as soon as they have a car fire)
  15. You would get along well with some of the guys in my area with that attitude...
  16. Its currently being worked on but I don't think he has anything to show at the moment (feel free to prove me wrong GGD ) He is dividing his efforts between this mod and the Portuguese mod.
  17. Well in the average department the chief has a bit of stuff to carry with them so I would be leaning more towards one of the top 3 instead of the caprice.
  18. That's a cute little brush truck. Looking good GGD. I notice that your truck only says "bombeiros" on it. Do you just have one "fire service" in Portugal or do you just not see the need to make distinctions? In America any unit would have the city/department on as well...
  19. When I took Firefighter I&II we were taught vehicle extrication (cutters, spreaders, rams all that stuff)... Its part of the NFPA requirements for FF2.
  20. I know many places have the laws written so as to include all kinds of weird things, I think its Missouri that allows a "addible warning device" and allows "bells, sirens, horns and exhaust whistles".
  21. Banned you for banning me while I was trying to make a joke/allusion to a dark time in Emergency Planet history.
  22. 50 members huh? How many of those were bombero?
