  1. Considering the ability you've shown so far with the models I have faith you can pull off a few fire truck models.
  2. Both units are definitely a step up.
  3. They have not been upgraded, it was planned but I don't believe its being worked on at the moment.
  4. Are the lights on the tank emergency lights or flood lights?
  5. I think if he does every single forum member will have a request...
  6. Very good, especially if you're just starting out. Its a whole lot better than I could do lol.
  7. Okay, Voodoo wins, we can all go home now.
  8. Sorry I meant the humvee and the other vehicle (can't remember its name at the moment), maybe lose the flag thingy?
  9. Could you maybe take a second pass at the two APC type units that were in the most recent release?
  10. Lets totally use a scenario from a while back ignoring the PD one, Firefighters unite lol. Send two guys in with a inch and a half, have two at the door feeding them line and as the RIT. Call for 2 more departments for mutual aid. And 2 medic units, one for rehab, one for patient treatment/transport If the people are available send in a second hose line with with 2 more firefighters and have 2 more pull another line for exterior exposure protection (but with SCBAs on but not on air) Once MA is on scene and they are assisting with water shuttling, have 2 teams climb up a ground ladder to the second floor (if anything is left) and begin a search up there with SCBAs on air.
  11. Seems like that's all you would need, same script just change the model and call it a tanker, the scripts would still work and it would fit in to playability well, attack line functions would work too. To me that sounds like the simplest way of resolving that issue.
  12. I know not of the Winterberg mod, never played it but I have heard it has many wondrous things in it.
  13. Yeah the helicopter seems like it would be far more work than its worth, especially considering how rarely it would be used in any mod. Pump from tanker though seems do-able (says the person with no modding experience) and as soon as that's possible logically the pumper to pumper wouldn't be far behind. I know a few mods would benefit from this and to be realistic any rural mod would have to have that, as any rural volly, water shuttling is one of the biggest parts of the job. As for the helitack crews that is already technically "possible" just fill medical helicopter with 6 USFS firefighters and land it somewhere near the fire, however without the automated command to cut line you're going to have to spend all your time micro-managing your crew.
  14. Hey Marshall, I saw some updates on Facebook do you think you could share some new info to the forum?
  15. You know I haven't even heard of the NPS getting one of the newer explorers, although I have seen a picture of a USFS one which is usually the opposite of how things usually go between those two agencies.
  16. Better ladder functions would be great! -Fireman on a ground ladder to enter house -Fireman on ladder to break window to vent. -Advancing a hoseline up a ladder into a house -Better apparatus-mounted ladder functions for sure! I want to use aerials on fires but all they do is pop up what looks like 5 feet and spray water. -Ability to vent a roof (and actually have it matter), although with the increased use of PPV Vertical ventilation is falling out of practice it would still be nice in gameplay.
  17. Its a separate game and quite hard to find, basically it puts you in charge of a USFS (or something similar) firefighting operation. You get tank trucks, firemen, dozers, smokejumpers, helicopters and backburners. The game play is based around evacuating people occasionally and containing a wildfire as fast and cheaply as possible. Its interesting but gets old fast, EM4 could learn a thing or two from the wildfire physics though. http://www.amazon.com/Wildfire-PC/dp/B00062VFF6 http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/wildfire/ PM me if you want a more in depth opinion on it. On topic would it be possible to have a firefighting helicopter as well as the air-tanker? Maybe have it use the same scripts as the air-tanker but have it extinguish less of the fire. Many new scripts could be made that would make wildland firefighting more realistic in EM4 and its mods, however since most mods are based around urban areas (with a few exceptions) I doubt that a issue like that is at the forefront of very many of our modders' minds. Other things like pumper to pumper water transfer and all ATVs/UTVs have not been scripted for I suspect the same reason, lots of work for few mods to utilize. As someone who has a fondness for rural firefighting its a shame but that's not where the demand is.
  18. Shame, but still far better than nothing.
  19. Can attack lines be attached to the tanker too? And can pumpers connect to other pumpers? On the color side of things kinda a sad story. My old VFD bought a rescue pumper to use as a rescue from a fire department in another state that still had that fire department's name and crest on it. They never repainted that truck and finally resold it a few years later with the same color scheme as they bought it. I don't think it saw much action but when it did I'm sure it confused a few people who looked closely, probably blew the minds of any fire buffs we had around too.
  20. Unfortunately currently EM4 is not set up well for grass fires and grass-firefighting. As I understand it deck guns can only work when the vehicle is stopped so that gets rid of the best tool for grass firefighting (guy with hose line standing on/walking alongside moving brush truck) and fire breaks require WAY too much work (Wildfire managed to do them quite well though) and without more realistic fire physics grass fires wouldn't be very realistic. I would love to see that change of course but I think it would require far too much scripting for anyone to do, although that's what they said about limited water supply too... (hoppah? bama? goog?)
  21. I think the final conclusion was that it would be WAY too much scripting for just one unit for just one event. There is a forum thread about it somewhere, the topic pops back up every couple of months or whenever reruns of "Animal Cops" come back on Animal Planet.
  22. I think any pickup truck could be made into a animal control unit with the right skin, the LEV from the LA mod would work great actually. The trouble with animal control is not the model its the scripts that would be required to make it work.
  23. I think the idea is that the captain should be in a support/command role outside, not all departments operate like that however.
  24. Excellent! I've been waiting for a US mod to come out with the Limited Water Supply logic.
