I like it, that also leaves the "utility/command" vehicle free to work as a people-hauler if needed. To that note could you make sure if its a SUV that it can seat 4-5? Maybe have some basic fire equipment in it too (axe, extinguisher, medbag)

Excellent point about the media, its no longer about finding the truth its all about getting ratings.
-
How does it work? I haven't played the Sao Paulo mod.
-
Just wondering if anyone has made a mod where the police have the option to use tear gas? Like have it work like some combination of the flashbang and watercannon affect...

New fire trucks for your mod! Pierce Quantum Pack released!

Something old perhaps? -
Could I suggest redoing the beacon lights on the back of the Mack? I've seen plenty of old trucks with new lightbars on them but have never seen one where they went to the trouble of modernizing the rear bed lights.

I would hope he has major protection, considering the number of people yelling to kill cops. Some are going to do more than yell before long.

That's tough, the I like the Mack because it looks like my engine, but the Kenworth is really cool looking.

A point I need to make is that the media seems to be portraying Ferguson as a small town, it isn't a small town, its basically St. Louis. St. Louis is made up of a bunch of towns like Ferguson which would basically be considered no more than neighborhoods. I've been through Ferguson, its indistinguishable from the urban sprawl of St. Louis around it.

Discuss, lets see if we can keep it civil.

In my area the only people who MIGHT have something like this is the highway patrol. Deputies/Officers only have standard patrol equipment. And if they do the gear would be in a trailer at the HQ building, they have enough stuff in the patrol cars as it is. One department south of me (7 officers) has a shield they use for SWAT kinda things but any raids are done with folks from the Sheriff's Office, local police, highway patrol and occasionally the state conservation officers or park rangers just because its hard to scrounge up enough trained officers. Remember, very few resources is the whole idea of this mod to reflect the sad reality of rural emergency services in America.

Same 'Murica!!

Not exactly standard equipment in rural areas...
-
Well at least the lighting would be easier, they didn't have really "Christmas tree cars" back then...

Perhaps end the "specific city" idea and just make a fictional city and say "I'm only going to use vehicles from 1930 to 1945" and that should get you enough range of units I think. And remember mods like the LA mod have spoiled us, it really doesn't take that many units to play the game. I think the biggest thing would really be changing the civil cars to the correct period too, probably best done as a update to the additional "units only mod". Perhaps it would be even easier to set the mod in a small ruralish area where you wouldn't even need to make that many units and you could just add packs of units at later dates.

Emergency dispatches after an earthquake
Fred03 replied to billyyank's topic in Emergency and Rescue services
Well I can't speak for the city but in my rural area we would get responders into groups (assuming lots of blocked roads) and have each group work with department and personal chainsaws to clear one lane of traffic on all major roads. If we knew of a area where there were likley to be high numbers of people in trouble we would send anyone we had available to those areas (campgrounds, schools, nursing homes). Most likley the Fire Chief, Sheriff and whatever representatives of different agencies they could scrape up would set up command in the Sheriff's Office/Dispatch (unless it was destroyed) and coordinate things from there. -
I love this idea, wish I had some skills so I could help out.

Nothing personal but I don't think that's gonna fly...

Non-North American Fire Departments
Fred03 replied to Fred03's topic in Emergency and Rescue services
Oh well if this topic has diverted into show and tell I guess I'll join in. My department has: 1 Pumper (with extrication equipment) 1 Tanker 1 Brush Truck EMRs operate out of their POVs due to long ambulance response time. We did have another pumper and a rescue (mini-pumper) but they were sold as the department decided that it wasn't worth the effort to maintain them. We protect a town of about 600 and the surrounding area and have about 14 active volunteers. -
Looking for someone to build me a mod
Fred03 replied to txfirefighter's topic in Mod Development and Concepts
And I'm looking for someone to give me a several million dollars, Kate Upton as a girlfriend and a mansion on a Island in the Caribbean, I would say our chances of success are about the same. -
That would take a lot of scripting.
