    Yeah, firefighter- lieutenant- captain- battalion chief-district/assistant chief- fire chief That's the usual system in the US, some areas have different setups of upper officers but Lt is always under captain. My VFD for example has a Lt, captain, assistant and full chief and that's it.

    I see. I really don't see the major issue, although I could see how it might be perceived as unattractive. Many would say its all about visibility, however some recent studies have shown that the overuse of emergency lighting can be more of a danger to motorists once the apparatus is on scene.

    It depends on what kind of jurisdiction the park has, I would suspect Cuyahoga Valley has concurrent jurisdiction which means that criminals arrested/charged in the park can be charged in either a state or federal court. I would suspect that they simply go to the nearest court. If you want to take pictures of them just go ask at a ranger station, most rangers are the friendly sort.

    Folks can have their own opinion about things without complaining. The ability to have a reasonable discussion is a dying trait in the world.

    Amazon, ebay or any emergency services retail site. I got two and realized that while they looked "cool" they were far from professional, so I keep those for rare occasions and wear either my dress uniform or a simple black t-shirt with "Fire Rescue" on the back anytime I know I'm going to be working in public.
