G'day All I am working on BuffCity mod, at the moment I am adding the LA mod units in, and having some trouble. I have read through the tutorials here and a hard to find e4tut1b.pdf help on adding vehicles. the quick rundown of e4tut1b.pdf: Use the models and textures from the mod you want to use, add them to your own, then make your own prototypes in your mod. after you spend alot of time building the models back up in the editor, then you change or fix up the freeplaybase.xml (all), portraits.xml, and metastrings.xml, infotexts.xml. to get the units in the game. Adding the models from LA to Buff, is not much of a problem, I get the models from the LA mod and put them in to Buff mod, then I make the prototypes using the editor, and making sure I use the same names as the LA mod to avoid scripting problems. I can get the LA units to show up in BuffCity Mod, all works fine. But the people wont show up, the outline is there but the textures are not, then the games crashes. Went through the error log, but did not find the problem. My plan is to have BuffCity Mod as a Submod for LA.

G'day all I have been working on this map for multiplayer and freeplay, BuffCity. (Fictional) Has an Airport, Secret Base Harbor Uptown, and Downtown areas Missions so far: Car Accidents, Demonstrations/mobs/punch up's, Bomb's, Gas Explosions, Contamination, Car Thief's, Fires, Hostages and more. At the moment it has only Emergency 4 Standard objects and vehicles. I would like to add different vehicles (Australian) but still growing my 3d building skills and scripting skills from the start does take time. I am working more on building up this map first, But I would like to get some help if there are people that would like to build this mod up.

G'day all Its been a while, but fighting cancer is a little full on. I asked Hoppah a few years ago to make a new map for EM4, LAmod V1. I know it was a while ago. I am now taking the time to learn how to mod EM4, LAmod 2.1. As E2012 sucks without the extra features Hoppah and Co. brought to the LAmod, made EM4 a much better game. To the point: I am having trouble getting the spawning to work at the fire stations, keeps coming up with a script error about " gate1 on line 198 m.SetRotation(gate1); " It is the line on the LAfire station start script, for the life of me I cant figure it out. I named the objects fs_gate01a, fs_gate01b, ECT.... for all gates and objects related to the stations. Even the spawn_firedept spawn_firedeptr, ECT... on the edge of the map ** Sort of worked that problem, now having trouble with VOSET_ROAD line in the fire station script, after having no sleep i'll leave it for later** Then names the virtual objects the same as the original map even found the spawn check hidden under the station, So I thought I did a copy of all objects using the same names and objects of the maps hoppah and Co. made. (I started a new map, and re-entered all objects required for both fire stations, police and hospital, virtual objects, ect) I am just wanting to get to a point where the stations work 100% (all vehicles spawn, and I can call in extras to the map), then i'll add the incidents for the map. I do have an understanding of scripting(JAVA, C++, C#) so I can read the code, but after having Chemo Brain, its a little hard for the neurons to fire the right way to figure out this problem. My plan is to just make a map for home, I would let you all here to use it, as long as I dont breach copyright, or without permission from Hoppah, as I did ask 3+years ago. Side note: It would be great if some people would get together and make a better manual for the map editor, as the current one is just crap, it does not go in to detail on anything, as for the forums well, having over 90pages with 20 subjects in each page is a lot to go through looking for answers, and the search is not much help finding every word with "spawn error" Just a thought to put in the forum, set by step guide to a change a mod or make your own. I have looked but hints and tips are all over the place, and not much on the editor, just adding textures or new models to the editor. The map is far for finished but i'll show you what I am working on. Any help, suggestions, and support would be great. Spacebuff

G'day all Been away for a few years and looked over the new mods, they look and work great, but hopping to find some MP players for EM4 (mods). Not after a clan, but would join one. But mostly some good random players. if their is still some left out there.

G'day PVFD, point taken, but at least I took the time to understand and learn, most noobs dont at all. jumping in to a room and saying go go go is not taking the time is it. Then shooting others units is what me not taking the time to teach them how to play the game. I find your view ignorant for just saying something so dumb. There are tutorials and playing the missions does teach how to play, then it should not be hard to put 2 and 2 together. when playing online most people do take the time and follow in with the others, but there is always one who has to do something dumb to F**K it up for the rest, then restarting a game takes up most of your playing time. It sounds like taking responsibility for one's own actions in your world just dont happen.

G'day all Not sure about everyone else but I am sick of noob players, people jumping in a room saying "go go go" without even setting out who is what, or jumping in saying I am this or that. Then if the dont get what they want they start fighting with the others in the room. So you give some people a fair chance and all they do is get a cop car and start shooting others units. I just dont get why people "kids, noobs and the F**KWITS" of the world have to come in to a game where most others want to have a good game. Myself I am retraining my mind to cope with different tasks quick, having chemo and raido therepy's for cancer I suffer from "chemo brain", as I will be going back to work soon I find this game "sim" helps alot. Anyway some of the big noobs know not to join my room as I kick them out, but I do give most a fair go and only one chance. I find the lack of respect from people a little sad, do people think just because your on a computer you dont have to show any respect to anyone else, are people that wrapped up in there little computer world they cant show respect to the other person(s) on the other end. So to the noobs, get a life or better yet join in the game and be a part of the team, you may find it to be more fun. In my rooms I dont use cheats, med bus, choppers, boats, planes. The set up is Fire South, Fire North, MED/DECON and Police/Tech. Always on the hard setting, supporting each other. Anyway I hope others have a good game.

Also any other servers are welcome to post here and add to the list, just refresh/update yhen you can. we all get players who join have a game then dont see them anymore. LAPD is taken by myself. BUT EMS/Tec, FD-Rescue, FD-HAZMAT are open.

I turned off my firewall, ONLY when playing, fixed the problem for me. Firewall is set up to allow incoming and out going but still had that problem, so I turned it off, no problem now.

there are 3 fire departments, i will get the 3rd now, time to fire up P2P. we dont get most games in Australia, have to download them. but still a good game.

I remember a game called Fire Department or Fire Capt, it used a script to sim water supply, u needed a tanker to fight fires and had to hook up to the tanker,sent the men back to the tanker for more water, good game. be great to have that in EM4

I would be in for it, but a few things needed to be worked out. What State, Era, City/Town/Bush I would like to help out, but let make sure and clear on, what where and who. its the foundation of a strong mod, then its commitment, once its started keep going no drop outs. To many people come up with good stuff, then people just rip them appart about it. or find somethng to have a go at. having said that, I would like to help, but only if every person involved knows and understands the plan.

I have the same problem. I just use Direct IP now, its a sure conection. best to use Hamachi, make a room with it. Post your room name here ( http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.php?showtopic=5620 ) or where u feel the need to put it. At least u can get players and setup a good team of mates. Just have to make sure u all have the same stuff/mods/addons/changes. It beats waiting for players in the internet room.

G'day all Up for a game most nights, Australian Eastern Time, GMT 10+. PM for Skype name or Hamachi server/IP address. Not sure why but my MultiPlayer is only working through the Direct Conection setting in MultiPlayer manu. I am not getting anything in the MultiPlayer lobby. Looked at my Router settings and Firewall its letting it all through but no other games show up.

G'day all Been thinking and looking around for a current list of Hamachi Servers, how to use Hamachi I did not find a clear out line of whats what and who is who. How Hamachi works To use the program Hamachi to play the game online, you simply must join into a network(Aussie LA) together by providing your hamachi IP address, once everyone who is playing is on the same network in hamachi, you enter the hamachi IP address of the HOST computer for the game into the DIRECT IP connection option and join their game. No need to use Internet or lan rooms. So in simple terms, load up Hamachi, login to a network, get the host IP, load up EM4 and Mod, go to Mulitplayer, click over to direct IP, type in the host ip and u should be in the host lobby room, then start playing. So i was thinking of a clear way to set things up, how about this. use your MP to state what your doing. Thank you for the people who helped out and tested a few taticts out with me and we found 3 that work well. Here is a list of titles and a quick breff on some setups. Medical - Takes care of all Medical Fire/Rescue - Takes care of all fires, rescues, hasmat, large emergenceys. Police - Takes care of all crime and shutting down ares TEC/Support -Takes care of all Tec and Clean up's and supports in close down's, fires, rescues, med's You look after all areas but u only look after your emergenceys under your job titile. Tec/Support is only teck untill extra fire/EMS/Police need to be called in. For this to work all players must restrict them self to no more than 4-5 units in play at any one time. North - 1 Police, 1 small swat team, 2 fire trucks, 2 ambo, 1 teck and all towing. South - 2 police SVU, 2 swat teams, 1 rescue truck, HASMAT, water rescue, fire boat, 1 ambo just streacher East - 3 Ambos, 2 fire truck, 1 ladder, Doc car and fome tankers, 1 fire ute/4x4/pick up's. IN CHARGE OF BIG EMERGENCYS (can call in anything to deal with large EM, Unmarked police only. West - 2 police, 2 ambos, 2 fire ute/4x4/pick up's, chopper support for police/fire/EMS, 1 teck and heavy lifting. All areas have to support each other. Airport - 2 Police, 2 Fire, 1 Ambo, 1 tec Harbor - 1 police, 1 fire, water rescue, fire boat, heavy lifting, towing Inner City - 3 police, 2 Ambos, 2 fire trucks, 1 ladder Outter City 1 police, 1 large swat, HASMAT, Rescue, bush fire truck All Support Inner City Command, ICC directs players to support in emergencys. EG. the bush fire in the north, ICC sends fire plane, and outter city to send fire truck in support. Earthquake ICC directs all ambos out and gets other players to call in more, ICC fights the main fire and shuts down arera. Well you get the point. All work well and work better if u can talk to your team mates, not text them. But the main thing is you have to talk to each other and support look at the Emergency, think do u need to be there, act quick, if your called in support your mates dont bunch up abound them and keep an eye on eveything. Dont know about anyone else but if u want to play the game, play the game!!!!! Yes its funny to watch 30 cops run in to a bush fire to fight it or lay spikes down to stop any one else from playing, but kids games are not welcome. Now for the server list, well thats simple. just the name and password and how often u may be online. (but i am sure u talk in your own rooms and come up with times) some simple rules for your server and thats it. So Feel Free to add your servers here to the list. If we can keep it to the point here and stop saying i am ready for a game at this time bla bla all over the place it should be good. Now I know people have been here for some time and have good forum going but i still could not find what i needed to know in one spot, and I hope this helps.
