If it breaks the rules, warn me but here is my question. Would you be releasing the mod and then patching it with the new models or are you going to put the mod on hold while working on the new models?
-
Technically, it would be classified as a submod no matter how much you change on it due to you are using the LA map, buildings, scripts, etc. right? Do you have plans on removing those skyscrapers in your mod or are they there for good?
-
Well said and that is correct, no money is involved with making the mod. It's on people's own time at their own pace for free.
-
Check out the text document I uploaded. It's step by step of what I do. I've done it enough that I don't need it anymore but I saved it in case someone else needed it or if I may forget.Reskinning Vehicle.txt

Technically, it isn't about problems. He asked if it was worth it and we said not at this time. Have a problem with it, there is a report button you can click to let the moderators know.

Haha, I'm well aware that you have not released the new version. I'm talking about the 2.3 beta version. Dyson, have you had any discussions referring to the traffic like making new paths so the cars aren't all lined up everywhere or just making some changes where there isn't like 7 cars coming in 10 second intervals? If so, I'll read through the whole topic to find it and see what was said before I ask questions. If not, I was wondering if you were planning on making some changes to the traffic in the next version?

I'm not sure Dyson. I just downloaded it 2 weeks ago and I just ended up uninstalling it because of numerous issues with it.....I redownloaded and will check it out to see what happens.
-
Reverse the steps by converting the.v3o back to a .dds.
-
I agree with Shadow Dyson. That's the reason I uninstalled it to be honest with you. It seems like more and more keeps getting added without getting old bugs fixed. I'm not a expert on scripting and everything but I'll help you out the best I can to help you fix the bugs or whatever else you may need.

Look at the first post - No download link which means it's not released. Secondly, the title reads (In Progress). Please read the topic and the TOS before you post. Thanks. On the first question, you should be able to still load the LA Mod. NY mod should install the same way the LA mod does.
-
Well, I do everything by hand. Painting the engine, inserting text, etc. The only thing I copy/paste is decals. If there is a way to move / copy / paste skins, I never done it or even heard about it. I'm not really experienced at this so there is a lot that I don't know of what you can do and what you can't do in reskinning.

Depends on how fast your computer is determines the load time on mod. Not guaranteed to load in that quick amount of time.

It's not in your LA mod folder under models > vehicles > Police, Fire, etc.? Yep, that would be the texture when you unpack it. I use Photoshop brushes to edit it.
-
Are you still having this problem?
-
I uninstalled it too. I liked all the models and light set ups and some of the calls I got but just so many bugs that I just didn't want to play or mess with right now. I'll wait until it is stable and out of beta stage.
-
Alright, sounds good. Hopefully they all work out and don't run into problems. I had my reasons for asking on the version to so was just trying to figure something out.

I won't believe anything till I see it. I think I read on there throughout last year that it was suppose to be done by summer of '10 and then read another one done by new years of '11 and it's still not released so until they put up a official release date or approximate time on the first post, then don't look forward to it being released anytime soon as Dyson said. Back on Topic - Dyson or team. It was asked earlier by Station 27 on the next version. Once its out of beta stage, will you make it 2.4 or what will the next version be read as?
-
I don't think there is any difference between them, Tim. If you were not satisfied with 911: FR / Atari, just buy the EM4 version. 911: FR is just a english version of the EM4 game. 911: FR is made from Atari and EM4 is sixteen tons entertainment. I play the LA Mod with EM4 Deluxe and even though it is in another language, once you install the LA or NY mod, it basically translates to English and your playing American engines / sirens etc. No matter which one you get, you won't have any problems playing the LA mod or the NY mod. To load the mod you installed, just go to Modifications > Click on LA or NY Mod > Click Load > Screen will freeze for up to 5 minutes while it is loading your mod and then it will take you back to the main menu when done loading. From there you can play campaign missions or freeplay.

Not trying to be mean lol, just informing you on the difference on why it is taking so long for the other mod to complete compared to Dyson's and why it's not good to release early. It's no problem at all not knowing about everything, a lot of people on this forum will help you out the best we can. So you feel even more welcomed and I was mean to you, I'll say this - customshirts lol.

Most of us rather wait for a complete mod with little bugs than releasing one that could potentially have numerous. Sure they could release it early but most early releases turn out to be a huge disaster and just causes more of a headache than the time spent enjoying the game.....This submod was made to hold people over until the other complete NY mod is done but these guys have been able to improve the game each release so it could turn into a complete mod eventually. Dyson's mod is called a submod for the LA Mod, its not a complete mod. Him and his team has put in a lot of time and effort into remodeling / reskinning / and now designing models. The map and buildings are still from the LA mod. The other NY Mod is a complete mod made from scratch (New models, new scripts, new map, new equipment, etc.) so so its gonna take a lot of extra time before it can be released. It sounds like it may be getting to completion but something could come up to put the release back more.

They just got it fixed, I said it was broken and reported which means it is not a IP Board template problem.
-
Terrific, glad it's fixed.... The patch, it's really up to you but if it was me, I would install it. It fixes most of the bugs found and I think it has some map fixes too with traffic. All patches matter because they fix bugs that they found or someone else found.

Go to Wizardworks > 911: FR > Mods and verify that the Los Angeles Mod v2.0 is in there. I want you to verify this because I don't think the problem would be with the game, it would have to be where the mod was placed. For Example, here is my address bar for my game directory - C:\Program Files\sixteen tons entertainment\Emergency 4 Deluxe\Mods\Los Angeles Mod v2.0 4x4 - Yours should read roughly the same. If it is in there, look in the LA Mod 2.0 folder and tell me if you see e4mod.info and e4mod registration entry. They may be labeled something else for 911: FR but you want a info file and registration entry in there. Those files show the text in the modifications window in game.
