Civil Cars Cooperation (Available for download)
Xplorer4x4 replied to skaihof's topic in Development Resources
Not here, i was getting speeds of about 300kb/s max, but my connection can handle a bit over 500kb/s. Nice work everyone! -
We can read the normal size font fine..and there no reason to dual boot for EM4 as it works fine in vista and win 7 with some minor tweaks, and those tweaks arent even needed in some cases.

Well he does have a point, sorry but it really doesnt seem like your that receptive to the idea here. I can more then understand with the ads, but the other stuff, hey why not give it a try rather then being all about what you want? Have you tried running any of these ideas by the staff and voting on them? This gives better perspective since no one seems to really be commenting on the other ideas here. If I dont see it there, how many people do you think will actually notice it there? Not that many I would imagine.

BTW, the TOS link at the top right is still broken. It should be more visible, like have its own tab called Rules, rather then TOS.

Well I personally feel it would look just fine if done right, but its your package. I will do it myself, no worries. lol i know kind of what you mean. I use prototypes from several versions of PRL and Tony's Lights, and now yours. With some exception I dont recall exactly which set came from which package. Plus I am not after a reality based project. Not that I have anything against that style, on some units i like it, some I dont. Short answer: I rushed through the first time i looked at your work in the editor. I plan to use more then I originally did, but after looking over some of them more patiently I replaced some units with your lights, while in some cases like the Engines, I came up with a way to utilize both your lights and the LED Lights by CFD. For the units I passed up though, it was simply personnel preference. For example the CHP Charger by CFD, and i might be a bit off here but you get the idea, have corner strobes and headlight strobes, then in the brake lights, i think he had strobes in there as well as the back up lights, and you only had wig wags, in the headlights and tail lights with a slow flash. It did seem a bit more realistic on your version, but I liked the strobe effect/faster flash effect better. Neither lightbars stood out to me though, so in the end i ripped the fog lights and traffic advisor off your charger and put it on the Charger I use that is from PRL or a modified version of the PRL one. Exactly, and it was very innovative. I think this idea could be useful for LED lightbars since the pods are usually rectangular in real life, not circular as there portrayed by Hoppah in the default lighting, NFK,and CFD. Thats not a knock on there work. I think I have made it clear I appreciate all of there work, I just do not agree with certain aspects of it. Simple, i dunno, but looks good no doubt. Like my LED comment above, this was a pet peeve of mine, as I never thought the rotators looked authentic but seemed like the only way to accomplish it till now. At the same time though doing rotators the old way and your way can add variety. Even if this changes arent made by occram or yourself, Id love to see what changes you made.

Good question cny, it will only work with the new map included with version 2.0+, but I hope to expand this project beyond just the new map and use Wood's maps(which are going to require alot of bug fixes first), and possibly the old maps as well. Down the line I may even consider making my own map.

Would you consider adding 3 running board lights on both side of the BC SUV? I didnt end up using as many units as I expected, but in particular I love the LAPD Patrol Car pattern. So far I have only found one pattern i liked on the arjent lightbar but I love this pattern. The fog lights on the CHP Charger are another nice touch. It looks like you linked several lights together to create a rectangle like look rather then just a circular look. And while I havent used as many as I planned, the way you have done rotators is a really unique perspective to lighting in this mod, and looks very realistic in terms of creating a rotating affect.

What about altering the submods forum like this: Rename it Public Submods(something like this) with a description(not sure it will matter) saying these submods are available to download. Add a Private submods forums with a description of submods that may be released to the public at a later date pending Hoppahs permission. With 17 pinned topics, the submod forum is getting quite cluttered imo. Thats just a rough draft idea, but what do you think?

I would love nothing more to release this as it meets all the requirements I believe. All units are scripted to return to base, among other script changes, reskinned units with additional functions(like the ATF NRU having the bomb robot, and a NTF NRU reskined like the one the LA County Coroner uses), new spawn points added, and more. Even a new model will be added soon. Njboy has it mostly finished, just touching it up a bit.

Hey Im back up and running. I will be glad to help out as much as I possibly can. PM me if your still interested.

Yes but its suiting They will use ours to detonate. They said theres a wooden platform in the middle so they can put the bomb in and detonate, and it actually has some degree of bio-chemical equipment as well which FFs have received training on already.

Civil Cars Cooperation (Available for download)
Xplorer4x4 replied to skaihof's topic in Development Resources
It would be nice to post this as an attachment for a faster download. Even on mirror2 i cant get much over 300kb/s. Oh and you should look into tar.gz, this will compress the individual files, then compress the tar file making for a smaller file size in one convenient file and it opens just the same as a rar file. -
I think the black car is an undercover. In the top left, is that the real dispatch screen we will see in the mod?
-
I believe thats correct joo. I been away off and on to. And welcome back btw!
-
My names not in there!
-
Other forums have them? Oh then it makes it all ok...or just dare to be different. I am already 10% aware, like i said, in the future, because i suspect once it is released it would be chaos trying to maintain one thread for the entire mod due to the scale of there mod. This really isnt important right now. I was just throwing it out there as some what of an example saying 3 forums isnt that bad compared to 10 forums.

By anytime do you mean every time? As if there was an AF plane crash 50 miles from the nearest major airportthat would house a crash tender, one would be dispatched anyways? I assume not, I assume your referring to AF plane crashes on base? In which case I would expect so, but I am not really looking into when they are used. And there was also a commercial jet down in a field that day,and most notability a commercial jet for WTC 1 and 2, but i didnt see crash tenders there.

We just got a grant from homeland security, and bought a new $750,000 Ford Truck modified for bomb disposal. Old unit: http://www.courierpress.com/news/2010/may/18/princeton-ind-post-office-evacuated/ New truck seems a big step up: http://www.courierpress.com/news/2010/may/20/evansville-police-departments-new-bomb-truck-can-a/

Can you not read the post directly above yours? "Well still havent got permission to release this" If any one wants it released..ask Hoppah. He cant seem to give me an answer, so I give up. Progress will move on regardless, but only as a personnel sub mod.

Also in regards to my earlier point about mod team forums being useless, moving the threads in to mods would make tracking progress easier. As it is this means to keep track of all the mods released or in progress, we have to visit the la mod forum, the mod team forums(thats 7 forums alone) and not to mention em4 mods and maybe em3 mods. Thats 9-10 forums we have to visit just to keep track of mods. The teams themselves dont even utilize the forums in a capacity for team members to communicate. I imagine most of the communication takes place via msn and maybe private forums elsewhere to discus progress and such, so a whole forum for one-three threads seems useless. Maybe they would be better used hidden from the public and only the mod teams can access the forums to discuss things in private. The LA mod and even NY Mod having there own forum(not now but in the future i think it would be warranted and even necessary but thats another issue) and having all mods in progress in the mods forums. Also maybe toss what appear to be dead mods in to a separate forums.

A Guide to the LAFD and assisting agencies....
Xplorer4x4 replied to MikesPhotos's topic in Los Angeles Mod
Thanks for the input but I doubt Mikesphotos would go to the trouble of labeling LASD units as radio cars with out reason, and seeing as only radio cars have arjent lightbars vs metro cars which have the mx7000, I there is something setting the 2 cars apart. -
I dont think he meant the staff specifically, and assuming he didnt mean staff, you said you made this site as a place for people to get together and share models and so forth. I dont see alot of that going on. NNICO gave away some models awhile ago, a cv and Impala if memory serves me right. Aside from that i dont see any one else contributing models in such a way. Same for scripts, custom maps, etc. You give us a platform to speak our mind, and you say "it's bullshit?" Now i didnt quite understand his point, but you gave us the platform to speak. If you dont agree with it, i dont see a problem in saying so, but was a comment like that really needed?

Late reply, thanks NJ. Another question. saw footage of 9/11 the other day, and noticed there was atleast one crash tender present at the pentagon. This struck me as odd since i have only ever seen crash tenders used at airports. Why would a crash tender be there? Also what is it that makes a crash tender like a Oshkosk Striker so different from a spartan, alf, pierce, etc rig? obviously they carry foam but why are they designed so different? Is it because aircraft fires can easily give off alot more heat if the jet fuel is ignited?

http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.php?/forum/12-site-forum-support/ Might have better luck posting in there.
