Darren has been kind enough to allow me to release a ported version of his mod for EM4. This is a beta release! - The reason this is a beta release is because the icons to put lifeguards in the truck will not appear but this does not prevent you from putting guards in the truck. Nor do the people icons work correctly for some reason. I also forgot to change the unit XML for this truck to hold 2 people instead of 4. That will be changed when Version 1.0 is released. Below you will find 3 zip files one for each version of the game. Each one is pretty much identical. Each zip has 2 text files an an exe. One text file is simply there to give credit to Hoppah,Darren,Zootoo, and myself for the work all of us have put into this. The other text file holds a list of all files you need to edit to make this work. If you do not follow the instructions in the text file this will not work. Last but not least, the exe file simply puts the files in the folders they belong. In the future I plan to switch over to the same EXE installer Hoppah has used because it would allow me to release one EXE file rather then 3. EDIT:Old attachments deleted, new attachments added. Old attachments at wrong line in instructions. Current Status: Beta 2 - This means that the sub mod is in the testing stage, and could potentially cause problems. If you are not comfortable with this risk, do not install this at this time! Despite the unit pics not working I have changed the status to Beta 2 as there have been number of small typos in folder names and files that have been corrected. Use the instructions attached rather then the ones in the zip for now. Light Pack 1: http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.ph...ost&p=86746 by CFD.

I think in this case push bumper is the proper term as there usually there to push with, while brush guards are designed for trucks to prevent brush from directly impacting the vehicle.
-
Since there have been a few different siren mod scripts posted lately, it got me thinking. Is there any way for a script to detect the collision data so that when a emergencey vehicles makes impact with another vehicle it switches tones?

New manual siren script (Stand By, see First reply)

Its a cool idea, but I personally wont be using it as I cant see myself bothered to push buttons while units are in route. I have to much else going on to worry about it. -

I like unrealistic (and i LOVE your/tony/cfds light pack), but itd be great to have a realistic/non over kill light package for those with slower pcs. I wont be using it. I like alot of lights and my pc handles it fine. -
Could you provide a dxdiag log(google it if your not sure how to get the log).
-
Sounds like an internet connection problem, not a pc problem.

Well obviously CFDs lights wont be to realistic since the light packs usually arent, but time will tell. If I can find a video of the lights in real life I may ask some one to do a realistic version. Otherwise the regular light version probably wont be realistic. -
http://www.smcars.net/ http://the-blueprints.com/ If its not there I dunno. What year are you looking for? If you find blueprints for an F-250 or F-350 that should work as the cab was pretty much the same anyways. Then the bed is pretty much a rectangle.

Ok, I will worry about the boat later. I did speak with Darren and he has been kind enough to allow me to release this! So heres whats going on. At current the truck model is ready to go other then lights. There will be a basic lighted version for those with older PCs. CFD has been kind enough to work his magic and make a super light package for the truck. However getting the models of the lifeguards are being a pain in the..Hopefully Hoopah still has a txt file explaining what might have to be done to fix this. If not, I might still have a work around or two that might work. -
The red lights should be on the drivers side and the blue on the passenger side.

The Evansville Submod! - Updated Aug 16th - Engine 61 Done
Xplorer4x4 replied to Xplorer4x4's topic in Submods [Not released]
Sorry there has been a lack of updates. My main modeler has up and disappeared. Hopefully I will knwo more on his situation later today. :-/ I have decided that I will show off a few pics of a few units to be included to pass the time. First up is Rescue 7: The truck is a 1992 Ford F-350 with a Warner Grass Rig body. It has a 250 gallon tank and can dispense 250 gallons per minute. 250gpm/250gal http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/5046/rescue7ds8067390.jpg As I said this truck is a dual purpose brush truck and rescue truck. It also pulls the departments john boat for water rescues. Next up is... Dive Rescue 6: http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/8606/diverescue6.jpg This unit is still in service but theres a similar Dive Rescue in service to that is a slightly modified box style ambo. Which one will make it in the Mod? Wait and see. These vehicles are used for dive rescue(who would have guessed? ) and water rescue as well. They can pull the boats at the stations or the Sea Doo Jet Skis. The units were chosen to allow divers to gear up while on the way to the scene. Last one for now: Rescue 8 - 2004 Dodge Durango 4x4 http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/5192/rescue8ds9251598.jpg Here we go with the multipurpose vehicles again. This is the Battalion Chief's vehicle for starters. It doubles as a quick first responder medical aid unit. Guess what, yep, there a third purpose. Its also set up to pull the departments water rescue boat. Enjoy the pics for now. -
Nah I wasnt looking for excitement, looking for realism in hopes of releasing the Lifeguard mod for EM3 ported to EM4. Trust me its not much better here, although I think the PD might be experimenting as one of the cruisers that patrols around here seems to be using a slightly different sounding siren then the other cruisers. They just picked up a few new vics about a month or two ago, perhaps its one of them. All the engines here use Fed Q(aside from some of the volunteer township departments which use a few various sirens, Ambos use a Touchmaster, and I cant recall what pd,sd,and state use at the moment. Actually have no clue what the state boys use as its rare to see them code 3 in the city.

I noticed a few vmo files in the la mod and the games data folder. What are these files?
-
Indeed, couldnt tell from just seeing the back end.
-
Hey Mike, just a quick easy question for you this time. What sirens, if any do the LACoFD Lifeguards use?
-
I have a problem with creating new people. When I add the idle animation as there default animation, and try to place them, the plop down in the editor, fall a short distance to the ground and there deformed. There legs are bent different ways and such. I think is a physics problem, but the game assigned the person physics for me and there pretty much dead on. Any ideas where i went wrong?

I have this mostly ready to be released. Just need to add lights to the truck, but to answer your question: It depends on the model. Some of the EM3 models werent done right, some where. Like the LA Mod EM 3 LAFD Hummer cant easily be converted to EM4 because it was pieced together using children pieces. However, in the case of this mod, you delete the prototypes as I dont believe the e3p files can be converted to e4p. Then copy and paste the rest of the files to there proper location. For example v3o and dds go to models folder. Then create new prototypes and link them up to the v3o files. Then edit the protypes to include commands, lights and so forth. Long story short the process isnt any different then EM4. You just need new prototype files. Any chance you have the boat from above. -
Well, I would think it would be illegal for you to officially release that. Its not my call but I would consider making sure its ok to release it before putting the effort in to the installer script.
-
Well if your handy with steel then perhaps you could get one of the 03-07 push bar and modify it to suit your needs.
-
What year is it? I need a cab for a 1992 F-350 but the cabs is pretty much identical between the F-250 and F-350 every year so this might work..

Xplorer4x4 replied to w00d's topic in Submods [Not released]
Drop me a pm and I should be able to help you guys. -
Thanks, just wondered as the only lifeguards here are employed by the public pools.
-
I have my AMR 2 ready to go. All I need to do is make dispatch pics, and well I suck horribly at this. Any one good with dispatch pics and feel up to doing a few?
-
Nice read Mike. I know photography is your thing but any chance of some videos of the new light patterns? Are all lifeguards under LACoFD or just those on beach patrol? Hope you dont mind me being curios.
