  1. What you have to understand is that with each submod comes file edits. The only easy way to accomplish this with out file edits is if some one compiles a set of scripts that contain all the needed edits for every submod, and that way we can post a set of files for those making a submod so all they have to do is add there new vehicles to said scripts so that the end users can download a submod and over write there old files with the new ones that contain all the necessary edits. As easy as it is, it would be a bit of a time consuming proces, and even then may require some edits to scripts depending on which submods are installed. For example if you have this submod installed, but not the Lifeguard mod, the siren script may cause errors because it knows there is no lifeguard mod installed. That may or may not be the case, but as I said its a time consuming process, and really its in your own interest to learn to edit the files your self so you can make changes for submods and such. While I would love nothing more to have Freightliner ambulances, as far as I have seen(hopefully mikesphotos will see this and correct me if I am wrong) but these are not in use in LA or LA County, so its doubtful Hoppah would approve such a sub mod as it would be unrealistic and his goal is to keep the mod realistic for the most part.
  2. Mike, we have AMR as our one and only Ambulance service here. We have a combination of the vintage style ambulances and the newer box styles. A number of both styles are labeled, Paramedic Unit while the rest are not. I havent gotten a chance to ask any of the local medics is this is to show ALS vs BLS, but we don't have any of the Critical Care Transport units. Are these reserved for hospital to hospital transport, or is this an indication as to weather its a BLS or ALS? Also, just wanted to take a moment to thank you for taking the time to assist all of us here, and educate us for the sake of keeping the mod realistic and our own personnel curiosity. THANKS!

  4. Make sure you follow the instructions from the text file in the first post and not the instructions from the zip files. Theres a typo in that one. I will try to upload fixed versions later.
  5. The security pop ups, aka User Account Control are easily disabled. So is the pop up saying UAC is disabled. As for taking ages to load, I havent clocked it but it seems as fast as my Windows XP. Maybe your system specs just arent the best for running Vista? I have run Vista Ultimate x64 for like a month now and love it! With a hard drive upgrade it runs even better then XP x32 did.
  6. Vista x64 is designed to handle 32 bit apps as well as 64 bit apps(and games for that matter). 99.9% of of 32 bit apps and games should run fine in Vista 64 bit. However Vista x64 no longer supports 16 bit apps/games, but those are rather rare these days. You should read up on wow64 in Vista x64. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WoW64
  7. Actually thats all i needed to know. I wondered if putting everything togeather using EM4 deluxe may cause problems for 911:FR and EM4 users. I dont get what you mean about adding it with the AMR and LEV. The directions in the first post are designed so this will not interfere with people using other sub mods. Just follow the directions and it will work with AMR, LEV, and any other crazy vehicles are released in the future.

  10. ^what about the lifeguard mod?? Its at a stand still. I am stumped on fixing it for those that cant get it to work. Unless you all are using the wrong instructions file, or just screwing up the file edits.
  11. ^we have been pulling out for a few days now I think, or atleast the announcment was made a few days ago as Connan was cracking jokes about it I think. So we shouldnt give a damn if it was an inside job? Not saying it is, if you havent noticed, just debating facts. I know if I lost some one that day I would care how it happened. Personally though, i think the more we try to prevent it, the more likley it is to happen. We are so focused on finding terrorists on places now, that surley they would take a different route this time. Maybe a bus or sub way station or train? Sooner or later it is going to happen and there is nothing we can do to stop it. Last time, it was a truck bomb in Oklahoma, this time was Airplanes. Ages ago the Japenese bombed pearl harbor(ok not quite the same thing but you get the idea). I dont look forward to the day it happens, but it will happen. As said above. World peace sounds great on paper but its not a reality.
  12. Shane I have a Box Style AMR if you want the texture(assuming Hoppah doesnt mind) I just have been busy/lazy and havent felt like making unit pics,unit xml files and so forth.

    Jab on the Rescue truck, one small thing. Technically the wheels are to wide. It should be a single wheel set on the front axle and i would guess the same for the rear or 2 sets of tiers on each side of the rear axle. The tires look a little big to but over all good job. You getting better. Puppysboy, good job as well. Touch up the area around the lights and it looks good to go.

  19. Well since the pathing and triggers are stored in the e4m file that wouldnt actually be a problem i wouldnt think. If my line of thinking is off please correct me.
  20. For the sake of keeping things fresh, i do realize the other maps arent very American, if at all, but is there anything stopping other maps from being used in the LA Mod? I am guessing it would take some work with VOs and the scripts for the sake of parking the fire apertures in the station, but would there be much else involved?

I know what a generator is, but I doubt is was diesel pipe lines for the fact that those pipe lines would have been disrupted by the plane crashes and considering it took, i think, about 90 minuets before the first tower collapsed, the disruption of the pipe lines(assuming there are any diesel pipelines which I doubt) would have already spewed diesel fuel all over the place unless they were shut down, and had they been shut down then it wouldnt have been the pipelines. Furthermore I doubt they would run diesel pipe lines through the building for one, especially not to the top of the building when it would have been cheaper to run such a pipe line to a generator in the basement.
  23. Its not the EXACT texture. Very close but theres a lake in place of the hospital and the fire station lacks the proper ground textured and a few small problems like that.
  24. ^signs? really? Yeah I was taught that channel 19(i think) is usually used by truckers and thats the channel we used in his truck most of the time. I never thought of it from the trap side of things. Thanks for the input MCERT.
  25. Save it to your computer and use the rotate button in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer?
