[RELEASED] Brooklyn "Borough of Fire" (BOF) Modification
Miercolini replied to rafaelmfernandez's topic in Mods
As Dyson stated this will not be added in. It honestly just makes more of a mess than it does good. I've posted some of my tips to dealing with traffic without redirecting. It takes some practice but in NYCERU we have done 2-3 hour long games with all the big incidents and still manage to keep the traffic going. It might get jammed time to time but it works its way out -

The second name of this game should be traffic management simulator. The best suggestion I can give is use the police for traffic control. At the beginning of a game stage police units around the ends of the big roads like Atlantic and Bedford, where the spawn points for vehicles are and keep a few scattered around. When an incident occurs, before you even start sending units to respond, you need to kinda of plan ahead. Decide where you want EMS and Fire staging etc and block those roads off accordingly. Even though you might get some traffic backup, as long you you prevent major gridlock from occurring it should fix itself. If it is on the side street, try and stop the traffic one block up so the street where the incident is on doesn't become congested with your vehicles and AI. Just like it really is in NYC, try to minimize the amount of room you need, strategically park the rigs so your maybe only blocking one lane instead of two. -

Depends on which units, since not all of the units are parked on map, a lot a call off map although they might still have the a ToStation Command in their menu. -

This isn't a bug or a problem, it is kinda of set towards having more medicals since that is realistic. That said it varies greatly. I have had games where you might only get one good job, or a game where you just are going one to the other. I think it might lead toOne or two "boring" games occasionally but it keeps the mod overall interesting. Yesterday I had a fire at a place I've never had one before, and I've been playing this thing from alpha. -

If your getting black squares on the textures, usually when turning the lights on, it is a performance problem with your computer. As said by someone else probably low memory depending on what kind of computer you are using. I haven't experienced the traffic getting jammed unless it was caused by the parking of rigs at a incident etc. If it is because a fire incident, plan ahead and block roads off before they all backup. We done multiplayer games for over two hours, just takes some traffic management. -

They are basically used as a feature in multiplayer, no other real purpose then that. You can see its usage in the mp videos -
Those specs........and people thought the Manhattan mod ran bad on their computers. Was thinking the same thing. Either its going to look outstanding or they did "optimize" their game

Yea I know its the 13th, but I came across this old video and think its a worthy a tribute to post. I've only started some modding with the BOF but I think I can speak for everyone when I say its a honor to work and be apart of a modification about a fire department and a city that had sacrificed a lot that day 13 years ago. Before you ask this was discontinued along time ago -

We welcome anyone to stop on by, all you have to do is join the ts. A mic is kinda of preferred since playing Em4 games, or any other games, without a mic is just difficult. Even if you can't run the mod, you can listen in on games if there is one and maybe even dispatch if you know how the FDNY does it. -

Ever want to play as part of the second largest fire department in the world? Want to realistically play one of Emergency's 4 biggest modifications in multiplayer? During that game they will teach you what to do and what not to do. The men listed above have been with NYCERU for over a year, some more than four years. We have grown a great bond and we speak everyday. Great friends come from this group and anyone you ask can prove that. Did a quick google search of the specs, and if I read the correct one it should be fine to run it. It has about the same specs as my lenovo laptop which it runs on. Now let me say it does run pretty smooth, but if your calling in a 10-60 all units you might get some issues. -
Atari does have problems with the mod-installer, but there is a fix for it.

Honestly it all depends on your computer. If you lag when you turn the lights on in lets say LA Mod 2.1, then your probably gonna have a bad time with this. However, this mod has been tested on a few low end computers and has done relatively well. -

Which download did you use? -
Thanks for the translation, only was able to pick out the word emergency. That part about the mobile really says something about their future in gaming, but I fine with that as long as Em5 is still in the works.
