  1. WHat is the point with hyping up countless "LOOKS GOOD!!!!!!!!" posts to all mod sketches there are? The topic starter has a project already that he has put to hiatus, and did not finish. And then he goes and starts a new one. Please, take a look at the mods-section of this forum. Everybody goes and starts new fine mods with grand plans, then fall short, cut and run. Critical comments do not mean they are bad. Criticism breeds better results than idiot-like "LOOKS GOOD AWESOME MODEL!!"-screams directed at some half-assed models.
  2. Neither did I take it to heart his saying "only", I just merely pointed out to the common fashion here, talking about the mod like it will be a sure gift from the kingdom of Heaven.
  3. You don't need? Well what if the mod sucks real hard? Time does not make a good game by itself, so thinking it will turn out good just because of the waiting is misleading.
  4. To the mod maker, What is the point in starting new mods, when you can't finish the last one? You just make couple models, then hop to the next city, after that to the next, again?
  5. First of all, Espoo 41 can start basic drugs and use all kinds of medical stuff, so it is a biiiig step from normal "first aid", so you got that wrong. Secondly, this kind of making models for million towns never leads to anywhere. Dead mod walking.
  6. Like Final Fantasy XIII, or OFP Dragon Rising? They were long time in the waiting, with huge hype and they all turned out great! No, wait, they did not.
  7. This made me laugh. It is not exactly rocket science there. You go like it is such a big deal, while it is a VERY basic calculation taught at the elementary, for heaven's sake.
  8. Neljäkymmentä ja yksi vuotta. Huh.

  9. If it is like the year 2010, it won't bring anything.
  10. You base that on what? This is exactly the thing what is wrong in here. People just throw numbers and promises, and then everyone gongratulates, applauds and whatnot. I can just make a new topic and claim to have 1:1 replica on the Emergency Services of Prince George's County. I will make a long list on vehicles "not done yet", boast about a big map with photorealism and talk about new features "that I need to someone to do for me" and voila, I have made a perfect replica of all the other "mods" in here.
  11. Everyone is free to look to the EN MODS section of this forum and check the list of mods. Everyone promises pretty much only reskins, some promise maps and some people might be talking about new features. But what is the common similarity in all of these? The fact that they won't ever, ever, be released. Like the ones before this, and after this will, this one won't ever see sunlight. I mean no offence to anyone particular.
  12. Not at all interesting, quite to the contrary. Waht is the point in having atleast three Finnish mods? Why don't you combine your skills and do even one fully, instead of making plans of having golden streets, slapping solid white to the future map with "here be dragons" markings, never making anything ready.
  13. What? first of all, usually the 24/7-station engines are staffed 1+3, sometimes 1+2, meaning there is the unit captain, and one to three guys. The other dudes are all the same, we have no engineers or such, everybody drives and dives, the shifts are rotational so that you go through the different seats not counting the captains's. One day you are the one driving, the second day you are the Smoke 1, and third day you are the Smoke 2. Then it starts again. All the guys not counting the captain are comparable to the american FF/EMT. They aren't actually registered health care professionals, BUT nevertheless the firefighters man BLS-level ambulances. In the Fire College, half of the studies are nursing and providing emergency care, so by all means it is no "First Aid". It most definitely is professional medical care. The only place where you see Firefighters onboard both the ALS and BLS, is Helsinki. In every other place you need to be a Firefighter and some health profession combined to be in the ALS. Or actually, in other places it can be that the other one is a firefighter, thus he has only BLS-level medicine permits, but the other one is a Nurse, for example, thus having also permits for the ALS-level. But you get the point. In helsinki both are firefighters, unlike in the rest of the country. Then there are the Volunteer Companies. They have the same idea in staffing that there is the captain, and after him are the driver, smoke1, smoke2, smoke3 and smoke4. The "smokes" can be also called only by numbers, 1,2,3 and 4 and such. However, due to the nature of the volunteer companies, you can't always have the normal staffing, so sometimes the engine starts with 1+3, sometimes it can start with 1+5, with few guys sitting on top of each other in case of something big. On the radio, I've heard many times of stafffings like 1+21. However, the volunteers are NOT using "A fucking BUS?", like the battallion chief once asked, but merely staff the engine to the brim, and then bring the rest of the guys with the personnel carrier. Because the personnel carrier is not counted as a unit, it only counts as an "additional", so it is "glued" to the UNIT that the engine and its crew form. Ladders, Water tenders and boats and the likes are also only "additionals", thus a ladder for example is always attached to some UNIT. A UNIT is a engine with atleast 1+3 staffing, what the ladder does not have, it is only 0+1. With the volunteer companies, it can happen that someone in the rig is providing only basic aid, in case not all the guys have gone through the whole training program, but there is always someone on board who know about emergency care, usually atleast two. And even then, they still provide oxygen treatment, IV-ringer, adrenalin, glukowhatevers, painkillers, defibrillators and such, so it can't be called just "first aid". It CAN happen of course that there are registered health care professionals sitting in the engine due they being nurses and Firefighters at the same time, for example, but here in Finland, (what a shame I think), due to many bureucratical reasons, the Firefighters are not registered health care professionals, but they do however provide health care. It is a big mess, and I don't even understand fully, so don't ask why or how. But, we only have two kind of people on board the truck. Firefighters and the Captain. That is it. I know that in Helsinki, the Capital, there are some weird setups of NURSES OR DOCTORS or whatever on board the engine, but let's not talk about that, cause I'm not the one knowing enough.
  14. The four halogen blue lights on the grill of Lohja 41 have been changed to LED-lights just recently.
  15. Some of the deluxe events: *Missing person. You are supposed to use the SAR dog to search the area of disappearance. FBI and LAPD cooperate on this one. *Toxic / Radioactive Cloud Released. Hmm, not sure what happens in this one. *Person with rifle. There is a person using a rifle to target innocent civilians and he is shooting randomly at everyone. LAPD. *Broken water hydrant. A water hydrant is spilling vast amounts of water to the street, thus blocking the road completely. CALTRANS/DOT and LAPD. *Murder Investigation. Not sure about this one either. *Contaminated animals. A small flock of flying rats is contaminated with unknown illness and are threatening the public. HAZMAT is involved. * electric box defect There is an electric box sparking on the side of the street and it poses an danger to all bystanders. CALTRANS/DOT is involved.
  16. The slick-top Crown Victoria that Hoppah has in his game, is it realistically modelled? As the model in game, the only emergency light in front is the steady burning red and not a single blue or red. Is this really the case, and if it is, why? In my opinion it seems to be inadequate lighting for an police car.
  17. Can anyone summarize the new features of the patch? And is there any decent english translation for the new patch?
  18. It could be a small feature that ambulance can't load dead persons, only coroners van could take them!
  19. Yeah, that is a lot of bays, but they don't use them anymore that much. There is no longer a fire dept ambulance, no water tender, the Voluntary Company in the station ceased action and etc. There is one engine, one reserve engine, a tower truck, a few utility trucks, a battallion chief and a not much else, and it ain't that busy station, so it looks good, but that is about what is left.
  20. And there has been no scientific indications that american youth nor people are any more less intelligent than any other western country resident, so I might fail to see your point here, other than the hormone-filled popular image that americans are stupid cause one of your buddies said so or something like that. They have Harvard, you don't.
  21. Well how about working with Emergency Services in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Germany and Denmark? Huh? That fine by you? Middle-European Emergency Models suck, they do and they do hard. Have you done it even in your own country? Critisizing models of conduct is not an insult, you see. Some do things better, some don't and that is where you can point out the faults in a given conduct. Like I said, the strict and stiff-model of middle-europe ain't that good, and I atleast know what I am talking about.
