Our Fire Fighter Combat Challenge here in Canada is similar. You're fully suited up, SCBA on, etc. You've gotta run up 3 or 4 stories, pull 250' of dry 2 1/2" line up to the top, then run back down, not skipping any steps, then you have to hit a 50 pound weight i think 25' to simulate forcible entry, then run a charged 1 3/4" line 50' and hit a target to simulate rapid attack, then drag a 250 pound dummy another 75'. The fastest time wins. It's so rough, they've got 2 paramedic ambulances standing-by for heat-stroke, exhaustion, dehydration, etc. And all competetors must stay under a tent being monitored by 2 nurses until they're declared ok. It's amazing to watch

Submod: New Freeplay map v1.2 Released!
2Bells Gaming replied to w00d's topic in Submods [Not released]
It happens no worries. Let me know if it works, and if not, I'll try to provide additional info -
ok, now, someone HAS to make a really long haired, buff, tanned, hawaiian fellah, and another long-haired, huge chested woman to be his wife that'd crack me up.
-
I believe so, but don't quote me on that. @ Newfoundking: My town's involved in the Fire Fighter Combat Challenge, but, it's not by station, it goes by department/service. Each town takes I think 5 or so members that are the "elite," and they compete. We had Nationals in the next city over (Niagara Falls) a few years back now. Fort Erie placed I think 5th. Might be wrong though. Not too sure (Off topic, I'm pretty stoked, as this post marks my half-way point to being promoted to Captain )

Well, while I'm open to new ideas, I, for one, am more, per say, old fashioned. I don't like new crazy different designs such as that. While I respect them and won't tear them down, they're not for me I'm not saying no one will, I'm saying I'm not even going to attempt it lol jokes

could the problem be with the Code: <prototype name="mod:Prototypes/Vehicles/02 Ev Fire Department/dive_rescue_6.e4p" /> You stated: "The XML resides in Emergency 4 Deluxe\Mods\Evansville Mod\Units\Vehicles\Fire Department\153diverescue6" could the problem be there? They don't look like they match to me.

Submod: New Freeplay map v1.2 Released!
2Bells Gaming replied to w00d's topic in Submods [Not released]
First of all; Second, please don't type in caps, it makes it seem like you're yelling, and people don't like being yelled at. Your point gets across fine without. Third, you need to download both the floor texture, and the map itself. When you download, click save, and put them into your documents. After downloading, unzip the files with WinZip or something similar. After that, move the files into the folder C:\Program Files\WizardWorks\911 - First Responders\Mods\Los Angeles Mod v1.8\Maps or similar. The three files you need to move in are: 1) newfreeplay.eft 2) freeplay.e4m 3) freeplay.dds You need to overwrite the old freeplay.e4m and freeplay.dds Does this help? -
Well, as I told the fellah who wants to make the Charles County Mod; It takes a lot of time, dedication, patience and practise. I'm not saying you can't, but you need to know, you've got a LONG journey ahead. I wish you the best of luck, and if you need help, ask away
-
PM'd you the info
-
I must say, It's going to take a LOT of hard work, scripting, etc. If you have the dedication, I'm sure you could pull it off, but, I want you to know, most of these mods take over 9 months to make even a test version. I'm not saying you can't, or shouldn't, I'm saying you need to be really dedicated to pull it off. If you need help, I suppose I could help, tho I don't have very much knowledge at all, however, I'm game

MUCH better Before I thought maybe you didn't understand me, and I was tired so I didn't feel like explaining myself lol... I like that one much better.... You said something about making the white lights flash too, and I think there are 2 ways to make it look really good: 1) they could either alternate like the headlights of the cv, or, 2) they could alternate in the same fashion as the red lights. I have to say tho, if you are using the second Idea, I'd make them strobe left/right in time with the red ones, but opposite. To explain better, when the left red light strobes, the right white light strobes. That way you don't have the full lightbar going left-left, right-right... If that makes ANY sense
-
How do you brag about that? "Yup, I'm chief of the 20th largest police force in the USA."
-
I like it... that's good Catches you're eye real good... very effective (and realistic) warning lights.
-
Looks good... One thing you could do is have the red strobe, and the white alternate slowly, if you get what I mean another thing I thought of, watching that, was, if you were to take the light off the back of Hoppah's Type III ambo, the ones where it looks almost like 2 lights rotating... that'd be pretty sweet. Wow, I'm full of ideas tonight lol
-
Personally, I'd use a dual-strobe left-right alternation. To try to further explain, it would flash: Left-Left, Right-Right, Left-Left, Right-Right and so on... That help any?
-
Haha, guess you found their website eh? Very good... your turn
-
Well thank-you very much Okay, my question is: Where is Toronto Fire and Rescue Services Station 111 located, when was it constructed and what is the square footage?
-
Completely your choice, you're making the mod I was just adding my two cents to mercurygrandmarquis1's two cents lol
-
There is a way to change this... If you have Goldwave (Maybe another, I use Goldwave) you can reduce the volume on the sirens... All you have to do is start Goldwave, open the siren, make sure it's all selected, and, up at the top, near the VU Meter, click Change volume, and bring it down IN LITTLE INCREMENTS, as if you go much past like 10%, it takes the sound right out lol. Hope it helps
-
And if you're making it LAPD based, Hoppah may allow it as a sub-mod. Just a thought.

It would be the "Vigili del Fuoco" of Italy. It has, for the last 4 years, been under tremendous pressure financially. The "Vigili del Fuoco" is a national Fire Department. Typically, a station has 5 units: a "Pumpa," or Engine, a reserve "Pumpa," a Tanker, a light-duty Rescue for MVC's, and a 4x4 Duty truck. Italy does NOT mount Interior Attacks, and the only time people don SCBA is to make a rescue. "Smokedivers," as they call them, must be nationally certified, similar to SCUBA over here in NA. Attack lines are 1 1/2", whilst Supply lines are 2 1/2". Vigili Del Fuoco has a very high MVC rate, as the roads outside of cities and villages have no posted limits. To further the problems, stations are spread thin, as it is a National Department, with Regional Command Centers spread through-out Italy. This means that some response times are pushing 30 minutes. Am I right, or did I just waste half an hours research?
-
On the vehicles note; I'm truly not sure, you'd have to ask Hoppah. About the station, can you explain in anymore detail?
-
Well, for starters, welcome to the Forum. I myslef am fairly new, and very new to acctually creating mods. But, from my understanding, no, you do not need permission to create a mod, but you DO need permission to use stuff from someone elses. I'm sure by now you've seen/played the LA Mod? If no, ignore: If yes, then I'm sure you'd like the ambulances, police cars, etc. However, to use them, you'd need permission from the creator of the LA Mod, Hoppah. And, as far as I can tell, Hoppah doesn't allow use of his stuff for re-skins (using the same vehicles, but changing the colour). You can re-skin, but for personal use only. You can't re-skin and upload it and pass it off as your own. But, you can if you're the only one who's going to use it. If you have any other questions, ask away, I, or any other member, are glad to help

I have a very similar problem with the original LA Mod v1.8. I drop the hose i just had attached to the wye, and command the fire fighter to pick up the wye, he does, but the hose is not in his hand. there is a nozzle on the ground, and he's empty handed. There's no way to pick up the nozzle, and the Engine can't drive anywhere, because technically, there's a still line attached to the rig, therefore, my truck can not move, and is blocking the road. Pisses me right off.
