  1. And those models take days to complete sometimes. Making a mod for EM5 might become a full-time job.
  2. The parking lot is for a building of strip stores. I like the animal corral event idea, I'm adding that to the list. The murder might be a bit more complex
  3. I might be able to make an animal a pull-able object, just like some debris, so that firemen or whoever can drag it off the road.
  4. Glad you noticed, that's something unique I wanted to do here, all the streets will have signs for their names and will correspond with the map included with the mod.
  5. A small part of the new map - wish I could show more (a lot more than this is completed) - but I want most of the map to be a surprise.
  6. The fire mechanics in the new map are going to be more realistic and more manageable, and will be more of a fit for the on-map units. Also, I need suggestions for new events for the map, so if you have any good ideas that aren't overly-complex, throw them out there please! It's been too long since I released any media, so be expecting a new screenshot from the new map tonight
  7. Thank you for the translation! I can't really describe how excited I am for this. Even though I'm wrapping up the Montana Mod this summer, if modding with this new engine is as easy as it seems it will be, there will definitely be a Montana Mod for Emergency 5.
  8. Good to see something other than speculation. Now if only we'd get that elusive release date...
  9. Most of the buildings are as low-poly as they can be, Flnn is also re-doing the unit lights for me to make them more cpu-friendly
  10. This will definitely speed things along. All that will be left after the map is completed is finishing touches on a few units and script implementation. I'm aiming for a release within two months.
  11. Quick update, still working on the map, it's nearing 40% completion, but things will be sped along soon as I've purchased a number of new building models from turbosquid. I'm estimating it will be 60-70% complete in a week or less. The good news is that these new building models will be very high quality and will seriously help the map look more American. The bad news is that no one else will be able to use them in their mods without buying them on turbosquid. Any questions, please ask
  12. Hey now, that's my territory...
  13. Looks great, but how the hell is that 1402 polygons? Might just be me but it looks like no more than 400 haha
  14. It actually won't be that sophisticated. Instead of using the unit menu to send the city's fire trucks, you use it to call the volunteers onto the map, and tell them where you want them to go (to the station or the scene). Most of it is done manually by the player. If you send the volunteers to the station they'll park in their spots, go inside, get geared up, and wait for you to assign them to a truck. If you send them to the scene, they can do what they can until a truck arrives, or move in to assist if a truck is already on scene. BMA has also given me a script that prevents you from moving vehicles that aren't occupied. So if you want to bring the city's fire trucks and ambulance to the scene, you'll have to send volunteers to the station to get them and drive them. You can still call in units from the county fire department directly from off map, but it will take a while for them to get on-scene.
  15. Yes. I was thinking the same thing. Once I finish them all I'll send them over to you and you can add them to your vehicle pack. They'll be Montana-specific, but anyone can edit those texture files easily.
  16. Just want to give everyone a quick update, I'm still working hard on the map, it's around 20% done at this point, but looking great. BMA and I are in collaboration to make a simple volunteer fire response script, but can't put it to use until the new map is done. Just about every model is being replaced with an American counterpart. Tons of new road signs, road textures, utilities, you name it. Expect new media within a week or so. Feel free to ask questions.
  17. Loosely, but the real Monida Pass is almost a ghost town. There's not much I can take away from it.
  18. Thankfully he won't really have to if he doesn't want to, I'm currently making a lot of those things for my new map.
  19. Hooray, another post in Mods that isn't actually a Mod
  20. They're models I created in gmax seperately and then added to the engines. Started with a skinny box, shaped it to look like a flat hose, added a curve on both ends and copied and pasted.
  21. Nope, Cops made it if I recall correctly. And thank you!
  22. Yes, the engine will have extrication capabilities
  23. You have to remember that the fires on the new map will be fewer and far between, and will spread more slowly than in the LA map. With the new circumstances, one engine is plenty for the small town. But for fires that get out of control, or large brush fires, that's where CCFD will come in, with plenty of extra units.
