  1. so you replaced the fire station control panel with a common civil guy right? gave him the name "control_panel" (check on la mod map what's the correct name ^^ )? to make things easier i'd suggest to just "modify" the la mod. add your units under the file names of the ones already in game. if you just copy the scripts and don't change unit.xml or prototype entries you might get a problem. that's what i try with pvc and ny new map, i just kinda copy and name all the paths and virtual objects etc from la mod. but with la mod as basis ! greetz (null)

  3. i know how dyson thinks about it (talked to him earlier ) but i think making these scenarios extra missions and keep the freeplay a seperate thing would be cooler. crane crash or extending a gas explosion incident would be okay for freeplay. extra missions (on extra maps) would give some more freedom . if you'd place all the debris on the road you need after a building "collapses" in freeplay it all had to suddenly disappear once the mission is completed. anyway, what i'm trying to say is that you could more realistic scenarios mission based. just an idea ^^ sorry for posting that (null)
  4. if there isn't an *.exe file with an installtion setup, just copy all of the submod files to the right la mod folders. like... model files into la mod/models/police or so prototypes (e4p's) into la mod/prototypes/police or so and the same for every other new file! (null)
  5. first up, if you ask new yorkers, it's still "world trade center"! nobody who lives in new york calls it "ground zero" anyway, i agree it's placed very unrealistic and there's a loz more streets between wtc and time square for example. BUT i do think it's okay to include it on the map. ten house is round the corner and if you want that on the map too.... it's mostly hard or close to impossible to make things 100% realistic and correct in em4. i'd always say keep it on the map greetz (null)
  6. @ erfd my opinion too that's what i liked when playing la mod... having one or two scenes on the map and sending a whole lotta units to make it just look "real". imagine"shots fired" or "officer down" calls and how many units would respond in real life... greetz (null)
  7. f1 (scene) -> objects -> VehicleChildrenDoors -> NEW -> search a directory -> enter a name for the prototype -> klick ok -> on the top you can type in the door's name in the editor -> klick ok again the door should be available in the "children doors" menu of a vehicle. basically the door has to be in an "object" folder in the editor (under scene) that it can be used as child. same thing for every other child in em4! greetz (null)
  8. alright, here's some news! i'm working on the map again; adding virtual objects, paths, etc. and try to make it playable (again). still don't know why i got that ctd :/ hope i'll be able to fix that soon. got a little request too! i can't seem to find a working download link for the additional units submod anymore. i kinda liked the idea of a heavy rescue ambulance equipped with jaws etc. if anyone still has this submod or at least the heavy ambu i'd be happy if you could contact me via PM. on the banner, if you're interested in making one -> PM me! don't post here please. greetz rettungstier (null)

  11. @dyson just contact me for those other lights if you got the models ready! hadn't much to do for the modification lately anyway, as part of the beta testing team i can asure you guys the mod is worth waiting! if the questions for a release date and/or the spam doesn't stop i'd suggest to close this topic for a while. ...might be the only solution to completely prevent that :/ by the way...   13. uhhh yeah! i like those impressions! i think it's also caused by all the "standard-em4-unlike" large buildings. kinda creates a feeling of being lost in a big city -> new york ^^ (null)

  16. the files you need are *.dds files in the "unit" folder if each vehicle. their names don't quite tell you what they're for but you'll see it once you unpacked and converted them! you can find all blanc/selected/deselected pics in there. just edit them with a graphics program like paint.NET to make your own ones. then re-convert to dds of course and don't change the dimensions or you might get some trouble (usually it just has to be 'a power of 2' but better keep the size the same!) greetz (null)
  17. yes they are! user vehicles means that they are controlable - or squad vehicles. open their unit.xml's with windows editor and search the line where the speed is set. adjust all the speed-values that differ fron the one you need, save and everything should be fine (null)
  18. hey you guys! first up, thank you for all those comments abd your support! it's been kinda quiet here for the last weeks. tomorrow, or maybe monday, you're gonna get some updates! i just decided to make things a bit easier so i could save me a lot of script work - what on the other hand means i don't need a scripter anymore ^^ it also means i have to get all the vehicles i've done so far back into the game cause it's like starting up new. alright, updates coming soon... stay tuned! greetz rettungstier (null)
  19. try to run it with windows editor in admin mode! right klick -> "open as admin" or something similar should work! (null)
  20. i had some jams after people ran into tge streets and waited there.... BUT ... i found the perfect units to solve these jams -> NYPD Auxiliary units!!!! from now on they're my favourites! ^^ just sent those prople away and everything was rolling fine again! ohhhh... and Dyson... don't get this as a call to reduce the count of civis! you know my opinion, put as much as possible, it's NEW YORK greetz (null)
  21. dimensions on the gates/stations are all as close to reality as i could make em. but, yeah, same height for all gates would make it look better. i'm beta testing manhattan mod atm so i'll be dealing with pvc in a few days again. greetz (null)

  23. chosse the tab "objects" select "vehicle parts doors" -> new create a new prototype for the door then choose the right v3o (modelfile) if you want, change the name that is displayed on the objects list. always press ok to confirm your selection of course to add the door to your vehicle open up the edit menu of the vehicle model abd press "edit doors" in the drop down menu on top you can select the correct file you just added and then press "add" to add it to the model. to get the right position use the normal navigation functions with mouse and keyboard hope i could help again greetz (null)
  24. 1. if london mod uses a siren script i think the proto of your new vehicle has to be included in this file too. just adding the command ain't enough! 2. all vehicle parts need to be added to the editor/mod with their iwn prototype. so if you managed to get that vehicle in the game, do the same with the doors/wheels!
