I'm definitely gonna keep them white trucks! I wanted to create something unique and "unusual". That's the advantage of a fictional modification. Anybody can do red trucks But I must admit that I didn't like my white skins either till I got the idea for the new ambulance skin and spiced it up with alpha reflections. Now I think it looks awesome! (well yeah, in the end I have to like it xD ) 'Bout the fire station. Well I really have to work on that skin again - you can't barely see the structure of the texture. Any other impressions on that? Btw. I'm working on a reskin of the aerial ladder right now. When I finished that I'll make some lights and you'll finally get more - and more detailed! - screens... greetz rettungstier

Still Hoppah's - haven't got the time (and right blueprints) to make them myself atm. Eventually I will some day, but for now they're okay for me. Except I'm putting some work in making the skins looking more HD. Here's a little sneak preview (kinda liked the design of the ambulances so I decided to make the whole FD look like it). Oh one way streets are no big deal for this mod, they only "appear" as the "splitted" lanes of the highway, but that works so far. My comment referred to another mod I have been working on the map (from my hometown as you can see here: http://www.emergency-forum.de/board41-emergency-4/board135-emergency-4-moddingteams/board171-rlp-modding/board294-idar-oberstein/42195-screens-map-27-02-felsenkirche-textur-angepasst/) Later today I might show you some new light reviews if my Fraps or youtube don't mess them all up again greetz rettungstier

@ Unit 42 oh that's not a big deal for me. gimme 10 minutes and there'll be plenty more stuff for you to discover on the map it's still a w.i.p. and far away from release version - and even if i won't change anything, as long as you like it?! i'm happy @ Dyson where exactly do you see the reskin? i saw this bridge parts and thought they'd fit pretty good in the map, and they did. (actually i wanted to build a new one, but it looks fine for me, so i kept it) greetz rettungstier

The gated-wye 's back! I like that too and totally share your opinion. It's a gameplay feature that makes (together with a rapid deployment feature) fire fighting a bit easier. Instead of having 4000-klick-scenes until you finally attached two hoses to an engine like in the original game. And I agree, it's pretty hard to make EVERYTHING accurate - and actually that's why I started a fictional modification greetz rettungstier

As already mentioned, we kinda do think alike Paths, and streets even more, are a pain in the *** in Em4. I've wasted so many hours trying things which nobody has done before but the system still won't 100% do what I want it to do. I figured out how to make one way streets someday but it wouldn't work always good enough to use it in any mod without people crying 'bout it greetz

hmmm...I think I'm gonna keep that a little secret for a while But maybe you'll figure it out yourself. Anyway, depending on the progress of the modification, I will tell you how I've done it or even write a little tutorial! I kind of do the same I think. I unpack the original *.dds file, convert it with dds-converter to *.bmp or *.png and open it in photoshop. Most of the time these original skins are have size of 128x128 or 256x256 pixels. Then I open a new file in photoshop with size 512x512 pixel, 72 dpi, and copy and paste the orignal skin (which of course is a quarter the size of the new file) Here comes the actual "trick" - I adjust the skin to the new size, scale it and save those changes. After Editing I save the bigger skin-image with the name of the original one, reconvert it to *.dds and ...done greetz rettungstier

you have to unpack the dds and v3o files via the em4 editor, then open the v3o with a text program and rename the dds or png file that is standing in there. this way retexturing is no big deal. hmm... could write a tutorial on that greetz rettungstier

hey! thank you! i can assure you that more person skins are w.i.p. right now! a just found a way to make person skins a lot more detailed. first i wanna complete the police units, then go over to ems and finally make the ff's. i'll also start to work on the fire dept. vehicles next week and of course do some mapping in between. greetz rettungstier

one question: WHEN WILL YOU RELEASE THE MODIFICATION?!??!??!??! ... no just kidding i adore your fire stations! did you add detailed things as childs to a basic station or do you build everything in one model? cuz i just disovered childs (also the self-made) as a really nice thing to add a bit more "spice" to my buildings. it gives you the ability to skin/edit them apart from the actual building model. greetz rettungstier

i haven't done any person skin yet, BUT the plan is to make a seperate ems model with paramedic skills, one ff model with paramedic skills and one ff with emt skills. the fire engines will be staffed with only emt ff's (BLS engine) or with only paramedic ff's (ALS engine) there will be only one type of ambulances in version 1.0, staffef with two paramedics. the beach patrol units will be equal to BLS emt's but will have "call random ambulance", "call random police unit" and "call random fire engine" commands. they will also be able to rescue people off the water. so you will probably have to call a beach patrol unit (maybe in later versions a special sheriff unit) to rescue people from drowning another feature that i've planned was a alarming/dispatch system like in Winterberg mod (much more simple though). a mixture between LA mod and Winterberg maybe so that you at least got a limited amount of units which are stationed on the map or will come from neighbour counties/cities. that's all for now more visual updates to come soon! greetz rettungstier

Medical emergencies - how to edit them ?

i think the first "c" always refers to "crash" the term "car" should be clear the first "crashcar" you add will be "ccar" the "d" in "ccar_d" refers to "debris", so every other car, marks, glass etc. you add is debris the "p" in "ccar_p" refers to "patient" so EVERY patient in an accident will/has to be named like this. for patients trapped in cars you'll have to ... ... place the patient near the car ... select the car and go to properties ... go to Edit Traits -> Person enclosed ... select that "patient_xyz" should be trapped within DONE! greetz rettungstier
