I guess this isn't stupid since it's for your own safety, but you get pulled over and fined for having tinted windows. What annoys me the most, is that it seems like they follow you forever before they turn on their lights, and I know it doesn't take six minutes to run a license plate.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that he is saying that over teamspeak, we have an emergency service role play, there is a dispatcher, officers, and civilians, and we just use our microphones for radio communications. Civilians call in emergencies to the dispatcher, then the dispatcher will dispatch the appropriate officer(s) to the scene, and all communications is over Teamspeak. Interesting idea, could be fun.

Does anybody use San Andreas Multiplayer with Windows 7? Does it work alright? Also, Will I need to buy a specific version of San Andreas for PC to be able to put mods on? (ex. New crown vics, fire trucks etc.)

Same, when I pass a scene I don't have to help, but at the same time a feel bad, because I have the blue courtesy light, and EMT patch, and a "__[My Town]__ Volunteer Ambulance Corps." plate attached to my license plate. So especially if people are looking at my car in particular, I will help.

I'm sort of cheating with this one, because I was on duty, but we found the emergency first, there was no dispatch prior to us reporting it over the radio to fire department. I find this absolutely disgusting looking light colored slime-like substance all over the highway below us while we were driving over an overpass. So we pull off into the grass and go onto the highway through our secret gate, guess what we find.... A porta-potty waste tanker, tipped over, and all of the contents spilled out. (I'm getting sick as I type this ) So we called into the state police, the county HAZMAT, then to our town fire/police. The driver was fine, and there were no injuries, but, I thnik that was the first call were I actually got sick in the bushes along the highway. It was terrible.

What are some emergencies that you randomly happened upon while off duty? Most of mine are police related: 1. Coming out of a hockey game, we heard a few 'booms' that just sounded like firecrackers, but then I saw 8 police cars, a ALS ambulance, and a Medic truck all heading to where the sound was coming from. (Shooting) 2. This was while I was very young, my dad worked in the city, and took me to work one day. So we were walking down the street next to a street patrol cop, and hear what sounds like firecrackers. So the cop seemed scared and seemed like he didn't know what to do, so he pushed us into a doorway, pulled out his gun, said "You guys are gonna' wanna' stay here" and ran to the street where the shots were coming from. 3. Very icy day on New Hampshire highways, we drover over a patch of ice and were sliding all over the place. Thankfully we recovered from the sliding and were able to continue on, but we saw another car behind us roll over twice and down into the snowy ditch. (This was before I was an EMT, and my Dad was an EMT), he put on the blue courtesy light and pulled off into the snow, he put on his supervisor vest and went down to go help them. 4. (This is about a year after becoming an EMT) Vacation in Bermuda, me and some friends were eating lunch at a hotel, and I was watching as this very slow moving, elderly woman with a walker was coming down the hallway. I went back to eating, then suddenly, my friend stood up, yelled "Holy Sh*t!" and pointed at the hallway. The lady was laying on the ground at the bottom of the stairs. So I rushed over and assisted her. I gave treatment until the ambulance got there. 5. Driving to my aunts house for a fourth of July party. I see smoke coming from a roof of a house. Not really thinking, I just thought to myself "Odd time of season for a chimney". So I looked in my rear view mirror, and there was smoke coming out a window, and flames in another one. So I called in to the fire department, they responded, and I stayed for a while. What are some of yours if any?

Does anybody's police/fire/ems department have any interesting background? I was talking to one of our cops today who has been doing research, and it's pretty interesting, (to me). -We had a completely original idea for our police cars and uniforms -The New Jersey Transit Police is the only department that liked our design so much, that they started using it -Started with 2 officers, the day shift and the night shift -When residents go out of town, they would notify the police, give them [the police] a key, and a list of valuable possessions and every night, the night officer would go into the house and inspect it for any signs of break ins, or anything missing from the "Valuable Items" list -When a call would come in, the only way of notification (before radios) was a single, steady green light, hung right above downtown, and it would blink if there was a call, then the officer would have to run to the station, answer the call, and run to the scene. -We have had only 1 line of duty death, and the officer wasn't even shot or attacked, in fact, he wasn't headed to a dangerous call. He was heading to a car vs. motorcycle, and the second he saw the motorcycle rider's body split in half , his skin turned pale white, and he died right in the seat of his police car. -Us and a neighboring town have a huge high school football rivalry, and in the 70s and 80s, they actually had to have officers there to make sure no fights broke out.

Well, it's that time of the year. the 31st, last day in 2009. (Well, on the east coast at least) Anybody have New Years Resolutions or something fun planned? I was thinking today, how weird it is to think that today is the last day ever in 2009? I mean, December 31, 2009 will never, ever happen again. Everyday is a once in a lifetime experience. Anybody else agree? Tonight, nothing special, have another amazing meal by the firefighters, and watch the ball drop in New York from my place. My resolutions: -Become a Paramedic -Finally finish a novel that is not or barely Emergency Service related -Go back to Dublin (I honestly don't know why... I just really liked Ireland for some reason) -Learn to play the theme song for "The Office" on the piano -Learn to play some piano What are some of yours?

Yeah, if there is something I want feedback on or something, I will post it as a note on Facebook. If you read the semi-story I posted above, you will see what I'm talking about when I was it's always Emergency Service related. Here was another story from a few years ago ( I can't find the story, but I found the notes) It was a guy who was a backup goalie on the New Jersey Devils NHL Team, and guess what? He left the devils and became a firefighter, haha.

Same everyday stuff just goes on facebook, and most of my writing is just in Microsoft Word, or GoodReads, or my friend's forum (Which I just realized I forgot to put a link for). Haha, and most of my stories are all fire, ems, and police related. EDIT: Here is a story in Microsoft word I found that was made a while ago, and this is why I can barely finish my stories, their all about the same thing. I'm not necessarily a good writer, but I try. "Units responding, heavy fire, victim reported one entrapment." The first police officer on the scene said calmly into his radio. "Truck 26 on scene, large 1.5 story wood-frame, fire visible Alpha-one side of building, entrapment reported, calling for second alarm, Engine 26 is Woodland Court command." Firefighter Keith said into the radio, as he got his helmet and Air tank on." "All information received 26, second alarm received, dispatching station 3 momentarily." The dispatchers said "10-4" Keith replied. Keith got out of the truck, he and his partners did a walk around of the property to find possible access points. The police officer ran up to Keith's three person crew. "One victim got out, he's being treated by EMS, he reports that he last saw victim number two in the kitchen, side Bravo-Charlie." The officer said in a rushed way. "Alright, get search and rescue a dedicated channel." Keith ran over to the truck. His partner, John, got an axe and a BLS Medical Bag. "Dispatch to Truck 26, Portable one, Search and Rescue is cleared for Channel Eight." "10-4, Truck 26 Portable one-Portable five, did you copy?" Keith asked. "Affirmative Portable one" Firefighter Kevin, the crew chief, replied. As you can see, I never finished it.
