  1. The Review was very well written, however since everybody is looking to mod it, and I am blessed with a rather extensive soft and hardware setup I figured I'd offer to help. So no, I do not think this was the wrong topic
  2. If you would sent me one of those model files I can try to open them, not promissing that it works but might as well give it a try. PM me for Email
  3. Thanks guys, I will have to make a few adjustments and than she's ready to get all rigged out with lights etc., we'll keep you updated
  4. To all my fellow Canadians, have yourself a blessed Canada Day tomorrow! :o)

  5. There is nothing one can add to this, except for I absolutely agree
  6. @dyson Well it certainly wouldn't hurt, if you want you can send me a copy of it and I have a look.
  7. Very nice Models you got there, nice to see that somebody takes care of Canadian units eh!
  8. There are some wonderful Tutorials here made by some amazing Modders. For the creation of your own Vehicles you need to follow a "simple" 3 step program (click on the links to get to the appropriate Tutorials) 1 You need to make the model itself 2 You need to texture/UV Map the model 3 Import the Vehicle into the game itself There is also the Search function that will help you, since many have tried to make mods and have asked great many questions
  9. There is no special step to save it, you just - open your editor - load the modification - choose the vehicle - click on edit - click edit commands - find the command highlight it and click -> - click assign command set - ok - ok - close the editor CAVE: It is important that you click twice ok and don't X out of the options to save the changes Now if your vehicle still doesn't patrol it might be that your vehicle doesn't fulfill some prerequisites from the script itself.
  10. Hello Friend, that is a ambitious project you have there. Now I don't want to discourage you but you need a wide set of skills to pull that off by yourself, or you need a team of dedicated people that help you. So first you should ask yourself the question what you can bring to the table, what skills, how much time you can allocate towards the project. Than you start formulating the bigger goals of your Mod. Once you are past this step you look at getting a team together and working on the details. If you never did something like this before, you might want to consider starting with just recolouring/ re-skinning the Basic units to get a hang of the process. There are several Topics here already concerning this and if you run into problems I am wiling to help you out. As for Programs you might need I put a small List together or free Programs that you will need in the process. To convert your models into a Format that you can use, you will ultimately need either a full version of ZModeler or somebody who is willing to convert your Creations with aforementioned program. Programs for creation of textures Paint.net The GIMP 3d Modeling Tool for 3d creations named Blender DDS Converter tool DDS Converter 2.1 I trust that this information will be a blessing to you
  11. Greetings to all of you, Since I just recently put my sights on modding in EM4 ( better late than never I guess) I have one question; Does one have the option to run a console during the game to monitor scripts as they get executed, and if so, how does one activate said console. Thank you for your help in advance
  12. @Squad51 You "wrap" UV textures around your models in the 3d editor. With that you refer to the general process of wrapping a 2d picture around your 3d geometric objects. When you have your model in the 3d Progamm of your choice you see them in flat grey tones. So to "get some color" onto your creations, you "unwrap" the 3d model or mesh into a 2d plane and this Process is called UV Mapping. In it's simpliest term think of it you have a object made out of paper, you take the single pieces and put them on a flat surface, color on them with crayons and fold them back up into the original object. Normals, well that is the orientation of the faces that comprise your mesh. You want to make sure that your normals are all facing outward, becasue otherwise your model seems to be invisible, Models with reversed Normals are those where, for example a simple haouse, it seems like the modder forgot to put one wall in, while in fact all there is is a reversed normal. Now lastly, reflections, there are about 12 different kinds of reflections when it comes to creating 3d models, so on that one you need to eleborate a little bit what kind you exactly mean. I hope that shed a little bit of light on your questions.
