Really nice screens! Especially the ones with the building fire and the multiple car accident. Food poisoning :1046275747_biggthumpup: greetz, Thijs

That doesn't matter: pics from both version are welcome

Well here in the Netherlands it finally cooled down. Lots of rain and no sun at all.
-
Paramedics responding to a call found the door locked. They called the fire department to open the door. The screen shows a firefighter getting ready to bash the door with an axe. The vehicles are from the Winterberg MOD.

I didn't say it wasn't hot, it just said it rained a lot here (Lelystad). Although today it has started to cool down a bit here, because of a sea breese. But since you don't have those in Limburg it probobaly will remain 'fucking hot' near you for a few days. Maybe a dive in the Maas would be a good idea?

If you pay a good price, you can take some of our rain. We have plenty off it here in the Netherlands

You need to place all parts of the new vehicle into a game folder (Data/protoypes/vehicles would be the most logic one). Then you need to edit the vehicles.xml file in the Emergency 3/Data/Specs Folder. You need to copy the text of one of the mentioned vehicles (if you made a police vehicle, copy a police vehicle, if you made an ambulance copy an ambulance vehicle, etc.). Now you have to change the prototype path into the path of the prototype you just made. You can now change some variables (how many spaces inside the vehicle, the cost, which units can travel with it etc.). If you want to add a photo off the model to the game you need to place the photos in the Emergency 3/Data/UI/Game/vehicleimg folder. You then need to change the portraits.xml file (also in the Emergency 3/Data/Specs Folder) and appoint the photo to the new vehicle. I hope this clears it up for you, if not just ask. I can't help you with the question about the lights though. greetz, Thijs

Hell yah! I can't wait. :1046275747_biggthumpup: Since your inlcuding pictures of police vehicles maybe you'd better call it Emergency services vehicles or something. Cause the police don't do the actual rescue work, they 'serve and protect'. So maybe "worldwide emergency vehicles" or "emergency vehicles of the world" or something like that. greetz Thijs

Thanks, I found them. But I don't know how to uninstall the old drivers, I found an ATI uninstall function but it says that it wil remove ALL Ati products from my computer. In the download there where a lot of programs included (96 total). There's a folder called drivers and in it is a program called setup.exe I guess that's the one I need to install the new graphic drivers. But when I started it, it sayd: "setup can't continue because the length of the prescribed path plus the name of the installtion folder excesses the limit of 95 signs. Try shorten one or both of them." What can I do about that, should I place it on the desktop or something? greetz, Thijs (BTW: if I'm not online by next weekend, something went wrong... )

I downloaded the file on the site but it's an installation verifaction program. When I install and execute that (no need to unzipp) it says thank you for your interest in ATI catalyst, but you can't install it on your system. I think that it's because my notebook manyfacturer (ASUS) isn't mentioned in the list on the website (overlooked that one the firs time, sorry ). According to the website the only way to download the latest drivers is with that verification program, does this mean I can't install new drivers? Thanks again, Thijs

I wanted to update my video drivers (it's an ATI Mobility RADEON X700) and I found an update for it on the ATI site (see here). But it says its a Catalyst Display driver, is that the same as a normal video card driver? And if it is the same: do I need to put it in a specific folder once I've downloaded it (and if yes, which one)? I know it's probably a simple question but I just wan't to be sure, I've never done this before. Thanx, Thijs

Simply place the model in the right folder. This means you have to copy the model file from the original mod and paste in the the model folder of the mod you want to use it in (for example \Emergency3\Mods\[NAME TARGET MOD]\prototypes\objects\objectchildren). greetz, Thijs

[EDIT] Since the original post has been changed to prevent anyone from feeling offended, the text of this one has been removed, because it's goal has been reached.[/EDIT]

First make sure you edit the vehicle to be a police vehicle (I thought it was the propreties screen, but else you can do it in the edit screen). For freeplay that's an easy one: place it on the standard freeplay map (load the map with the editor and then place the vehicle somewhere on the map). You need to add commands to the vehicle in order for it to move around (move, cross bridge etc.). If you want your personnel to be able to ride in the vehicle give it a name and add that name to the entercar script (if you don't know what you exactly need to put in the script use the search function it's been answered here a few times). And off course don't forget to add the getoff command to the vehicle. Placing personnel next to the vehicle on the freeplay is very handy: that way you don't have to call a vehicle to bring officers to the new vehicle. For in game: you have to copy the prototype file and the model file to the game's police vehicles folder. But to be able to use it in game (I'm assuming you mean having it available in the police vehicles menu) you also need to edit the vehicles.xml file (I believe it's in the specs folder of your game). Just copy the text of the stw and paste it underneath the text. Now change the name of the mod file to the name of the mod file of the car you just made. I know it's a lot of complicated information to understand at once, but this is the best I can do in general. If there's something specific that doesn't work out just ask. greetz, Thijs

You need to hold the ALT button, you can move the light up and down with the mouse. greetz, Thijs
-
I thought you only needed to pay to be able to export cars, but if importing the file doesn't work you can try the programs open function or if the file isn't a z-modeler fyle type you can use the 'open with...' function (right click on the file you want to open). And I don't really understand what you mean with that last sentence, maybe you can explain it another way or a bit more elaborate? Greetz, Thijs
-
You can add a lightbar to a model with Z-modeler. If you have a separete lightbar model you can add it as a child to the vehicle in the modeditor (placing it works the same as placing a new light). greetz, Thijs
-
Try looking at the settings of the lights on a model you really like. You can copy them (manually) and use them on a new vehicle. You can also try to improve lights you dislike (faster flashing, lower flashoffset, bigger corona) just play with the settings a bit and see what it does. greetz, Thijs
-
That's because you used the adjust propreties screen. To edit the lights you need to use the edit lights screen (the propreties screen can only be used for minor adjustments). You need to look for prototype of the vehicle you wish to edit the lights from via the edit --> scene menu (step 1) Once you've found the right model select it and press the edit button (step 2). You now have a variaty of choises to edit (physics, fire objects etc.), one of them is edit lights (step 3). Push this button and the screen Emer showed you will appear. greetz, Thijs

I found the German version on www.emergency3.com, click download and then click "Zum Download der Demo hier klicken!" I also Found a French one at http://www.jeuxcherche.com/pc/demo-5556-emergency_3.htm But I couldn't find an English one, I'll try searching some more but don't get your hopes up. greetz, Thijs [EDIT] Sorry for the double answer, when I started typing this replie Stans wasn't online yet [/EDIT]

I think you already figured it out but for anyone else who has this problem: if the games starts and you see two arrwos (one game arrow and one normal arrow) you should press CTRL + ESC (together), you will return to your desktop. In the lower bottom off the dektop screen you see an Emergency 3 logo meaning this program is still running. When you click this beam the game will pop up and you're mouse should function normal again. greetz Thijs

After you've freed the truck driver using the jaws of life you can pick up his truck with the crane and move it out of the way. The other units have more space to do their work now. If'I'm correct the crane should be able to move towards the sunken car now. To save time you can also remove the trailer while the firefighters are working on the driver of the truck. Thijs

Try not to park the other emergency vehicles near the water but on the other shoulder of the road.

I'm not sure if it is possible (I mean anything is possible, but somethings just aren't worth the trouble). Maybe you can convert the helicopter chase script and use it on the k-9 unit. But it is an afwul lot of work (for example: instead of on a car you need to use it on a person, the dog must be able to walk solo etc.). I can read the easy scripts, but I can't make them so I can't help you with it. But I think this is the way you need to go. It would be really cool if it worked though. Opening a new topic might have been better but I guess that you mean you can only post in this topic when you say 'only place it let's me post', kind of weird? greets, Thijs

I uploaded it onto the upload directory of the site. It's called command.zip (nr. 9 in the upload section).
